Ali Baba Kebab House in Calderdale

I pass here all the time on the bike, always seems busy. So I gave them ago a few week back. I ordered via Todmoden eats and collected. It was certainly worth the trip out from Littleborough. Absolutely amazing kebab, lots of good quality meats. Will certainly visit again when I have a craving for a kebab.

I was having a party and was ordering over £100 worth of food, didn’t answer so I’m sorry you missed out on a lot of profit because of staff no answering 20 minutes before closing time

My partner ordered a milkshake which, apparently comes with an extra ingredient of fingernails 🤢 never had an issue before, but will now be avoiding. Be careful slurping guys 😂

The food and service was amazing. One of the best upcoming shops in Todmorden. The pizzas and chicken burger had an amazing distinct taste. Highly recommend people to check it out.

Love the keema and chips not on the menu but worth a try if there something not on menu they will more than likely be willing to make it for you.. Good delivery service and friendly staff 👍 they know my keema and chips order when I call.. I don't need to explain they know my usual.

When we first moved in this place was a take away. However the last two times we've ordered our food has taken an hour or more to arrive and been stone cold.

Excellent value for money burgers on three separate occasions after visiting The Golden Lion. I was asked what salad I wanted last night and when I said I wouldn’t mind a sliced tomato with my lettuce - they obliged! Very professional and friendly.

Used to state clearly on the menu what was vegan, now it doesn't.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed. We ordered veg pakora which was under cooked, spicy and claggy as well as chicken pakora which we struggled to find chicken in. Wouldn’t recommend for pakora

I've ordered so many takeaways from here, and never been disappointed! Great food and really nice people. The best in Todmorden for sure and such good value!

Phoned to place a pre order 2 hours in advance and was told they are very busy at that time and cant get it to me at that time. As i didnt have a menu i checked their online menu to pick the food i wanted. They had a burger deal on their websit 3 burgers for £10 and pizza deal 3 pizzas for £15. When i asked for these i was told the offer is actually £12 & £20. So i placed my order and asked for a price and was told very rudely that there are other customers waiting on the line and they would have to call me back. After waiting for 10 minutes i called back for the price and again was spoken to rudely as they priced up my order. I was shocked to be told that it all addes up to £55. When i challenged the pricing the offers had gone up from £12 & £20 to £14 & £22! I cancelled my order there and then. Never ordering from here again.

First impressions were really clean premises, and super friendly guy serving! I ordered a large Donner kebab and I can honestly say it’s the best one I’ve ever had! Fresh and juicy meat, and the salad was nice and crisp! Really great price too! Will definitely be going back.

Called here after seeing Dave Haslam at the Golden Lion. Just wanted chips and kebab meat. Food was fantastic and the staff so friendly. Finished off the night perfectly.

Love this place. Consistently good food, and if u want something a little different just ask. The staff will always help when they can. I always like a proper Asian style home cooked curry and they never fail to make me something amazing. Good for the kids too with pizza burgers and nuggets etc. And not too expensive like some of the rip off places around right now. Not had a bad meal yet which says it all.

It's really good I think they improved from before

Been here a couple of times. Both times staff were rude, we waited a long time, and no one seemed to know what was going on. Food is mediocre at best. Pizza is ok but lamb kebab was as tough as old boots. Wouldn’t even be writing this review if staff had been a bit more pleasant. And that’s putting it politely. Not going back. Rubbish.

Would be zero stars if that was possible. Take your cash, try to get away with short changing you, then deny you have placed an order in the first place. Horrible place, horrible people - basically crooks. Very run down and dirty as well. There are very good takeaways in Tod, take my advice and visit these instead. Avoid this place at all costs!

Possibly the worst curry have ever had..as for the garlic and coriander naan...it came as a pizza rice was teastless...the curry had a full tine of pineapples in it...rubbish

Everytime I eat here its has been perfect without fail. Order bang on everytime and the pizza are amazing !! Cheese burgers are to die for and the garlic mayo. Would recommend going here to anyone 5 outa 5 and that's from a picky chef ;)

After a late night with friends...stopped by the famous ali Baba’s...maybe it was the drink....but i don’t care. Had an amazing pizza.

This was by far the most enjoyable pizza we ve had. It tasted amazing, looked so colourful and we were stuffed afterwards. We will be back and we live in Scotland.

We went there tonight I had a large (16") mix grill pizza, My son had a large 4 season meat pizza. They were both absolutely wonderful. "Better value for 'taste', than a certain high street brand" (that we do actually enjoy, from time to time). Sadly, for us, we don't live anywhere near Todmorden!

Normaly ok but tonight forgot cans coke and then back with a warm coke one can not happy

Sent my partner to grab us a kebab each opened it and bit into the seekh kebab it was raw inside disgusted and put off immediately wouldn't visit again

This is a classic example of a business with no pride. They have their kebab shop in a beautiful building just by the bridge. They have done absolutely nothing to make it look nice or be in keeping with other smarter businesses. Food was average, kebab was just about warm. Whilst I love a good kebab shop this is the kind of business that brings an area down instead of improving it.

Gutted our old friends have left will take some time to get used to the new take on food from the new owners

This place makes my favourite curry, Lamb and chickpea, even though its not on the menu, staff are always nice and friendly and the food is well priced.

Utter shite and its about time that they fixed that broken window (which in actual fact) was broken by one of their disgruntled customers after his entire family (and cat) were unfortunately poisened.

A lovely fast food place. I had a donner kebab so can only comment on that (but the pizzas looked good, too). The food was tasty, proper, well-presented and very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will go again.

Ordered at 9.10pm arrived at 11.00pm freezing cold. Rang to tell them, totally apologetic explaining the dad was absent and two new staff. New kebabs arrived at 1.20am still cold and not eaten. Returning next day to give them back and get a refund.

Don't think I've ordered from here when I've not had a drink, but the extensive menu is a great choice for on the way home from the pub. Generous portions always hit the spot.

Pick up the menu so that you can order easily from home. The food is really, really good and the free delivery is the winner. The same guy has been delivering to us for years and it is always a pleasure to see him, knowing that the food is here. Just as good to call in after a few cheeky drinks and order before getting a taxi home

He vivido en Tod por más de 20 años y cada noche (3 veces a la semana quizás) nos darían un kebab desde aquí. Nunca grasienta y nunca he encontrado en el cartílago donner como he tenido en Manchester. El lordy es una bestia de un kebab y era sólo mejoró cuando he añadido una bolsa de Štefánik-Naks en estupor borrachuzos. También utilizamos que ir lejos de aquí hace algún tiempo, que a su vez nunca grasienta y siempre nos llenó lo suficientemente.

Ali Babas is (correct me if I'm wrong) one of the longest running take aways in Todmorden and it's easy to see why. Consistently good food and excellent customer service. They get so much abuse from horrible drunk people but still manage to remain calm and polite! You must try a Biryani from babas, it's too good. Nothing beats a pizza, curry or kebab from babas after beer. Keep up the good work!

Been coming here for five years, doesn't get better than Ali babas. There chicken sagg Dahl is to die for. Great customer service, that always put a smile on your face. Keep it up lads.

Having used this take-away for such a long time nowI can only say that it is now at it's best, for the same service and standard of food you would have to travel far a field and in my opinion without the same outcome.The staff are always polite and the owners take great pride in what they do.

This place used be an absolute travesty but things have improved ten fold! The food is good and service is exceptionally friendly. I ordered a lamb vindaloo with a rice and sag aloo. Thete was lots of it and it was extremely well made, and I'm fussy when it comes to Indian food standards! Recommended! I hope it continues to maintain this standard!

Called here last Sunday on spec for a takeaway as we were en route back to Birmingham. What a treat| A menu to suit all of us (3), pizzas, kebabs, indian. Two pizzas and a samba dhal +, onion bajees later we were all very impressed. Great portions too at a great price! The friendly, cheery staff were incredibly welcoming, letting us sample a few chips to help us decide what to choose, Wish it was our local but we will definitely return.

The staff are always friendly. The food is good and not expensive. Good reliable fast food joint. There is no sit down eating here, we use the benches by the canal

My favourite take away in the Todmorden and local areas, great food and generous portions wether it's pizza, kebab or curry, friendly staff and best of all, naan breads to die for, they are tasty and unique in their size!!!! They're open late which is great for us shift workers.

We have eaten here for years - the kebabs are huge, tasty and great value - the staff friendly and they deliver too! The currys are good too but we don't seem to get past the special mixed kebab on a garlic naan!!

We moved up early in 2014 and on our first night, we came here on the recommendation of my wife's new work colleagues. Absolutely brilliant, I bought a massive feast for me, my wife and her two mates for about a third of what it would cost down south, and it was brilliantly cooked, very tasty indeed and the guys are really nice and quick to serve you your food. Chicken Lordy is a MUST!!! Been going ever since. Say no more!

Have t been here in a while, but the food was lovely. I had a pita bread with chicken tikka curry in and it was delicious and for £3 I had no complaints. Staff were so lovely, and friendly. Will definitely be back.
