We had a fish, chip & irish curry sauce, pie & chips plus sausage & chips takeaway. The fish was perfect, not greasy at all & the rest was spot on too, whether your eating in or out it comes up as a great chippy.

Saturday lunchtime - the chips were almost OK but the fish was awful. The batter was thick & solid along the whole length of one of the fish, the other wasn’t much better. It tasted rancid & most of the fish ended in the bin. If that’s the best they can do I will not be coming back here again, there are plenty of better than this. This place used to be good, now it’s absolute rubbish.

Travelled from Manchester after reading reviews on this page, It was worth the effort. Genuinely superb quality fish and chips. As mentioned in other reviews the couple that served us were lovely.

We have always had great fresh fish from Gemma and Anthony. They know how to fry. Their chips are exactly what Northern men like my husband, demand; good fat chips not skinny French Fries

I travel all over the northwest with work so I do tend to eat in far too many cafes and takeaways some good some not but this old style English chippy with its traditional chippy menu is a gem of a place every time I’ve been the foods been spot on and such friendly staff it’s nice to find these hidden gems

Delicious fish and chips. A place you will return to. Never disappoints. Fish very fresh with lovely light crispy batter - none of that awful soggy interior you find in some other places. Great service too!

Clean, very helpful and friendly, inexpensive, fabulous fish and chips (they also do pies and sausages etc). Quite simply nothing to fault - Generally eat in although not at the moment - COVID and onviously take out. Nothing is too much trouble. Highly highly recommend.

Absolutely brilliant set meal of fish, chips and peas; two slices of white (or brown) B&B and a mug of tea (or coffee). Very friendly lady and gent running it. We ate in, retro and very clean. Only downside no toilets...

Twice i have eaten here with my wife, both times it has been very decent. First time we both opted for the fish, chips, peas & cuppa option which comes with bread & butter. You know what, it was worth the fiver for each of them, fresh tasting fish, nicely cooked chips & mushy peas that were actually hot, throw in the bread & butter plys the cuppa & we couldn't go wrong. Tried a couple of other times to get in there but sadly they were closing, we followed those attempts up one Thursday & were told they were closing the cafe ad they were running out of things, asking if they had just fish & chips, we duly sat down & enjoyed a second "late lunch" there. Again, it tasted decent. Pleasant service by waitress on the first visit, served by the chap that runs it the second time & he has always been very polite & cheery when we have been in, even when we didn't get lucky. I have to say that having tried grandma pollards, this place knocks spots of it for taste & service, you do at least get hit food here & a slice of bread & butter that matches, unlike the half white & half brown slices pollards served us. If you are in Todmorden & you're feeling peckish, give it a try, i don't think it will disappoint you, it certainly didn't us.

We have been here a few times now and it’s a little drive from where we live but this chippy is by far the best I’ve been to! Fish and chips are always cooked to perfection and the curry sauce....wow! Prices and portion size are really good, definitely get enough to fill you right up! Staff are always friendly, helpful and welcoming! Quick to get the food out and always service with a smile! Highly recommended!

Went in. Bought fish & chips, came out, tasted it, threw it in the bin. Yuk. Greasy garbage. Probably the worst chippy in Yorkshire!

Traditional fish and chips with mushy peas and a pot of tea. The lady who took our order was polite and patient (two elderly parents ). The food and service was good, and prices fair. Nice friendly feel to it. My dad had a accident with the salt and they sorted it out in a tick. Thanks:-)

Also cheese passties nd beans and cho butties etc for veggies, chops all done in vegetable oil, sit in or take out, good old fashioned chppy with lovely helpful staff.

Good choice of fish, pies, chips , bread and drinks to either eat in or take away. Situated centrally for convenience when shopping.

Very friendly staff which always makes a fantastic business. The food was fabtastic and the scallops were out of this world!! Would definitely choose this chippy over any other! Great food. Will return soon.

Very friendly, always asks how the food is. We come from Rochdale for the Yorkshire fish cakes. These are two slices of potato with fish in between then battered. A meal on their own. Alway would recommend them

We usually have chips but eat in occasionally. the people who run it are ALWAYS friendly and cheery, never have I had bad service even when they are packed. The chips are best in Tod!

We eat in here on a regular basis. The service is excellent, and the food is wonderful. Highly recommended, they do not disappoint, excellent value for money, lovely owner.

Good service; clean; very reasonably priced and very convenient if you're in a vehicle as car parking in the square is metres away. They do seem to close early tho?

Great chip shop with cafe and takeaway open 6 days a week ( not sunday) , great prices friendly and quick service , serves excellent fish and chips and similar meals in retro seating , featured in Oranges are not the only fruit tv drama.
