Didn't dine. Watched a live band..... Dr Butlers Medicine Hat Stand Band. Very entertaining. Had a dance. Nice ppl.

Food was bloody brilliant - some really authentic Thai food. The Pad Kra Pow is actually a good level or spicy and all of it had so much flavour. Staff are really sweet and attentive. So happy we came across this little gem!

This pub looked really inviting from the outside at night, I was so dissapointed when I walked in.. I was hit with a really bad fusty smell (like a greenhouse smell) it was very over powering.. my partner bought two drinks and we sat at the back of the pub next to what looked like a serial killers chest freezer what they use to store body parts in.. the long scary walk to the toilet is very daunting aswell, like I was walking to my death (again to a serial killers cellar) expecting to be met by buffalo Bill.. I was surprised there being a Thai restaurant upstairs I could not smell any food, very confused.. I'm shocked this place has the reviews it has to be honest.. I will not be returning here any time soon. 👎🏼

Love the food here. Really authentic, freshly made and you can purchase drinks from the bar downstairs and bring them to the restaurant upstairs. Believe it or not, but the homemade chips are an unexpected highlight.

We came into this place for a couple steady drinks while staying in the area.it looked very qwerky from the outside so we thought we would give it a try not to our knowledge it was going to smell like a compost heap when we walked in this put me off my drink as it was making me feel sick.i needed the toilet so I went down the death tunnel it was like something off the film hostel.very un clean I couldn't even see a sink in the men's toilet 😮😮 to wash my hands.the guy behind the bar didn't even acknowledge us when we left and it wasn't even busy.we didn't try the food so can't comment on that but the pub area was rancid with two freezers in the corner that looked like they had been there since this building had been built it was like being in Denis Nilsson living room.very disappointed we will not be returning.

We had a wonderful, delicious meal and the service (Angie) was impeccable- we had a party 9 and she was friendly, efficient & so helpful in splitting our bill for us!! The food is SPICY so make sure you request mild if you aren’t up for it! We had the papaya salad & Green Curry with Tofu and sticky rice!

It's quite fun, but the lack of floor staff when it gets busy means you should be ready to bide your time. The spicier dishes seemed to be all burn for little flavour, but we still had a good meal

We enjoyed our visit, welcoming pub downstairs with some excellent beer and Thai restaurant upstairs. The food there was good and the service friendly and efficient. Would not hesitate to visit again next time we are in Tod.

Lovely pub-cum-Thai restaurant. The seafood curry on the specials board had way too much chilli, but then I should probably have checked that before ordering.

Casta decided to finish off his day in Toddy with a visit to this bar cum restaurant. The restaurant is upstairs, the ground floor is a bar with three real ales on handpump. Had a pint of local brewery Eagles Crag Pale Eagle. Good bar.

Lovely food, but sadly ruined by a huge delay. Took our order after about 20 minutes and starters arrived within another 15 minutes, but the mains arrived nearly 2 hours after that. Woefully understaffed in both kitchen and front of house, and no effort made to manage our expectations. Such a shame.

Very authentic… best red curry I’ve had.

Sat for 30 minutes while the waitress walked past us 10-15 times and didn’t acknowledge us. Unfortunately ended up leaving without ordering anything or even really being spoken to by a member of staff. It was only when we were leaving the waitress tried to take our order. Friendly and good atmosphere but overworked and poor service.

Food , beer , service excellent n a nice bit of live jazz to relax . Highly recommended.

Visited on a Saturday night just before Christmas when visiting family in the area,had a drink downstairs in the bar first,lovely cosy little place.Then upstairs to the restaurant also small like downstairs,fab menu and good vegan choices too,this place is nothing fancy,but it’s small and cosy and the staff are friendly.The food was delicious we had starters and main courses,the portion sizes are good,my only complaint was the waitress took away our starter’s when one of my party was still eating and then they brought out our main courses and she was still eating her soup which wasn’t good really and also some light music in the background would of been nice but that’s just my opinion.Will visit when in Todmorden again as the food was good and reasonable prices.

Service was poor. We had to seat ourselves, one lady running in and out of the kitchen, not able to attend to everyone. All rather unprofessional. The bottle of beer I got was warm, one of the curries we got had a few spoonfuls of sauce, the other was rather underwhelming. The atmosphere was decent, portion sizes were good. But overall rather disappointed.

Didn't try through food, was there for a music evening. Great atmosphere, good range of drinks. Only downside is the location of toilets (in the cellar) and they need some refurbishment

Me and my husband usually attend the brilliant music night on Sunday's. Last night we arrived early with my sister as she had never been before. She was hungry as we had been out all day with her...(she is recovering from a serious illness). We went upstairs hoping we could have a meal as we hadn't booked. We got a nice table for the three of us. We ordered 3 different dishes with rice accompaniments but when mine and my sisters arrived the dishes were not recognisable as the descriptions of the dishes on the menu. I had scanned the menu carefully to find a meal that wasn't too spicy and chose the one described as "milder curry with mixed vegetables and pineapple and my sisters chosen dish contained bamboo shoots which she loves ....both dishes contained neither of the ingredients described. My curry was extremely hot and I tried to eat it with streaming eyes and burning lips. I had ordered steamed rice but sticky rice came which was clumped together and tough. The egg fried rice that my husband and sister ordered was fine and they gave me some of theirs. I was not charged for my rice. My husband ordered ribs and the large rib of the 3 he got was solid bone with hardly any meat on it. He enjoyed the other ribs on his plate. We must have come on the wrong night. The one waitress who was on her own was extremely busy with orders and bringing up drinks from bar downstairs. Felt sorry for her actually ! It was when we started to eat the meal we realised we hadn't got what we ordered. In retrospect I should have sent my dish back but struggled on with it with the help of the good egg fried rice from my husbands and sisters plate ! My sister quite enjoyed hers although it had no bamboo shoots in it but she finished it as she was extremely hungry. We went downstairs to enjoy the music as usual and my sister enjoyed her first musical experience there. She said she wouldn't eat upstairs again though but would be back again for the music !

If you like Thai food to be full of flavour and untamed, this is where to go. Absolutely banging! From the outside it looks like a pub, which it is downstairs. They serve excellent craft beer, which complemented the food spectacularly well. The only problem is eating from very low tables if you can only find a sofa. Lovely to chill out on after you've finished, but not so good whilst eating.

Foods was really good. Bit of a squeeze due to the number of people in our group hence the 4 star for the service.

Beneath The Embers played our album launch show at TWM on Fri 4 Nov. AJ the events manager was superb and the band was so well looked after by the TWM team. The whole evening ran very smooth and bang on time. Looking forward to coming back!

Visited for drinks with a few friends. Oddly, we were led upstairs to the closed Thai restaurant where it was very bright when there seemed enough room for us in the nice ambient area downstairs which had live music on. I suspect they thought we'd be noisy and wanted us out of the way! Nice place though and the lady at the bar was pleasant.

I went with some friends end of October 2021 one Friday night. Food was lovely. Best Thai food I’ve ever tasted. I had vegan food . Very tasty. Would definitely go again.

Just finished a meal here and omg. Always wanted to try it and so glad I have. As authentic as you can get. Cosy little place. Dimly lit, very charming. Staff are very attentive and warm. Make you feel valued and welcome. 100% will be returning. Only downside would be slightly hebden feel to it but that's just a personal moan. Best restaurant in tod by miles.

it was the most amazing Thai food I've ever had. the service was a bit slow due to only 2 waitress working, but it was worth the wait.

Rsted low because I love it and it needs to re-open. Food I'd give it five stars. Rice was sometimes overdone and stuck together but thats replaced if you tell them. Fab place with authentic and spicy cuisine. Not flash. Reminds you of Thailand.

Had a takeaway this evening. Couldn't fault the starters but the mains were not good. Pad Thai was pallid and uninteresting and the crispy duck was anything but crispy and consisted of mainly bits of fat with a bit of duck thrown in. The housin sauce, which should have been thick, was fluid with an odd after taste. Won't be back which is a shame.

I placed a telephone order and was told it would be ready in 30 mins. I arrived a few minutes before it was due. Unfortunately I had to wait outside in the cold for 40 minutes to be brought my order. Apparently they were busy despite ordering at 5.10 pm! The food was cold and not as nice as usual I am afraid.

Loved this quirky little bar and restaurant. Will be going back to visit as soon as possible.

Lovely little bar come restaurant. I’ve only given it a three star because we only had drinks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The downstairs bar had a small raised area were an older man was playing his guitar and singing. Was very different which was good. Next time we come in we will definitely be trying to food.

The food is, and always has been amazing, the atmosphere is really cosy and welcoming, nice and quiet when you pick the right days of the week but it can get busy really fast! The service can be slower than what you hope for but the staff are always lovely, the food is worth the wait.

Good beer, generally good food but avoid the sticky rice, it's not fresh and is utterly inedible.

Quirky. Very quirky. Bar downstairs (people were eating here) restaraunt upstairs. The bar staff and waitresses were lovely. The food was delicious and authentic. I suppose some people might say it's a little scruffy, but they can go and drink/eat at some chain restaurant. The seats have rips in them, the toilets are in the basement and are a bit of a trek if your in the restaurant. I loved it. Cosy and laid back, the type of place you could sit in all day/night. As we left there was a live jazz band playing. I wish I could've stayed but we had a train to catch. Next time we're in 'Toddy' we will definitely call here.

Loved the venue and atmosphere was good. I thought the food was OK, the portions were very small though. The (younger) waitress had little in the way of customer facing skills; no smile, not friendly and acted cold, like she didn’t want to be there. It would have been nice to know there was a specials board also. It’s a shame, as everyone else was working very hard and managed to greet customers accordingly. Maybe she was having an off day, I might return again to give the place another chance
