Now called the Sour Bee, a great pub for real ale, a tasty two course Sunday lunch, and a friendly welcome.

They catered for all of us including vegetarian and vegan options. Fast service, delicious food and friendly staff. One of our favourite restaurants in Sowerby Bridge.

First order and definitely won't be the last. The chicken balti had just the right amount of spice heat and chicken beautiful cooked. The hubby rated his donner excellent.

It always good food here. Homemade, plentiful and extremely tasty.

I've binned half the food because the food was stuck to the serving paper like it was glued on so it was either, bin half the food, or eat paper...

We didn't feel rushed at all this time. I booked a family christmas get together. The food was great, service was excellent. I can see another outing here coming very soon. I love my ruby murries.

This has now opened as Gabriel’s Tapas Bar. The food is delicious , freshly made and very tasty. The owners are extremely friendly. Prices are reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.

Endless amount of flat pints, kids behind the bar don’t know what they’re doing. One of the managers saying that their cider is hit and miss. Randomly deciding during the day on a saturday that they aren’t letting “chavs” in (according to the bouncer) anymore. Can’t hear yourself over the numerous barking dogs they don’t seem to care about. So seems it wants to be the finest place for an expensive pint in a town with nothing going on and won’t let in its regulars for being in sports gear during the day. Don’t bother letting anybody know. Just make up new policies as you go along and refuse entry. Just lost a few regular customers you don’t care about. More bothered about their profits.

We stayed at The Hobbit for a couple of nights near the beginning of August after its reopening due to covid. The hotel is tucked away on a hillside overlooking Sowerby Bridge. The room was in an annexe very modern and clean. The views over the hills were a lovely sight especially as you could sit outside for a drink and chill as we were very lucky with the weather. Obviously at this time we had to follow guidelines and the staff seemed to cope really well as it was all new to them also as the hotel had only recently opened up for business again. Breakfast was good with enough to start you for the day. We did book dinner on the first night but wasn't overly impressed. The hotel is a good point to stay for local visits. We managed to travel to Hebden Bridge and Haworth in one day and take in some of the local culture. Would certainly use this hotel again.

Didn't realize after reading other reviews that we would be eating amongst casual drinkers. Portion sizes are very small and leave a lot to be desired. Definitely won't be back

So went for waffles for my son’s birthday. The ladies front of house were lovely but I had never been before and asked for help with my order. They did help but I came out with one waffle and a cookie which I did not want. When I went back to reorder another waffle they told me to keep the cookie and I had to pay full price for another waffle!!!! Which did surprise me they didn’t offer me a discount as it was obvious I made a mistake. Also the biscoff waffle says it has biscoff sauce on and it doesn’t!!!! Very disappointing as my children did not eat that one as it tasted more of cinnamon and not biscoff!! Sorry but won’t be back 😔
