Alexander's Bar And Kitchen in Calderdale

Didn't realize after reading other reviews that we would be eating amongst casual drinkers. Portion sizes are very small and leave a lot to be desired. Definitely won't be back

Booked a table for 7.30 pm for 5 people, Saturday 28th Jan 2023, there was no-one else in the place, cocktails were 2 for 1, no problems there, went upstairs to the restaurant, 2 bar staff, no-one else, an A4 piece of paper was sat in front of us, with the lunch menu on, we asked for the evening menu, to be told that was the only menu as they were having problems getting deliveries?! Not all the menu was available either, WE HAD NO PRIOR WARNING !! we ordered what we could, cold roast dinner, or a burger was the only things on offer , with beef that was days old , by the taste and look of it . As it was a special occasion ? 2 birthday celebrations? We had balloons etc , We wanted fillet steak etc ... It was disappointing to say the least . Staff , were lovely, but my wife doesn't take kindly to them blocking her on Facebook for expressing this situation .when they are now presenting an amazing menu ? Not professional. We said on the night, not good . So just carry on with a cocktail and one free . Which is what they do anyway . 🤔

Sorry I was really dissapointed with the Sunday dinner , it was cold , and the portions tiny , I left there hungry , the meat was rolled lamb and only 1 small slice and was all fat, hardly any veg and a hard cold yorkshire pudding , the roast potatoes were burnt and looked like they had been scraped from the bottem of the oven , I was so dissapointed because I don’t eat out a lot and it was a treat for us , I won’t be going again

Nice bar with plenty of seating. I didn't have any of the food but it did smell nice. Cocktails not the best.

Quiet, quite surprised really as it looked rammed all throughout the summer but Sunday dinner was superb, great staff and service - would recommend
