Popular cafe close to train station, regular flow of customers eating in, take away and delivery. I was staying across the road at the Holiday Inn Express and was stuck for a snack so read reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Simple menu for food and a great selection of bottled beer from around Europe. The ploughman’s sandwich with salad and crisps was delicious, all fresh and served quickly, washed down with a bottle of Duvel. The only downside I could see was deciding on which drinks to choose.

My husband and I had the the most wonderful meal here. We both had the slow braised steak and stout pie, mash and peas. The pastry was amazing and the large chunks of steak and gravy were out of this world. The staff were very friendly and welcomed us and our dog, The room itself is quite small but that adds to the feel of the place and was very relaxed. There were lots of old, interesting artifacts around the room. The music was more wartime which was in keeping with the feel of the place and really nice to listen too. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. 5 star all the way!!!

Amazing food, 10/10. Everything was exceptional!! Best place for italian food in the entirety of York. Every dish was high quality and staff were attentive. Lovely authentic feel!

Visited for girls lunch in late April. We were seated at a lovely table outside, lots of cushions and a very comfortable setting. We ordered 3 centre cut filet steaks and they were OUT OF THIS WORLD. Cooked to perfection. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough, i'm fortunate enough to live close by and have been many times. The chefs really know how to cook and how to flavour their dishes. The bone marrow sauce is just stunning. The menu changes often and they use local ingredients whenever possible. The ingredients used are always top quality, it's such a treat to eat here, the prices are very reasonable. A true gem.

Could not fault the FOH staff. Very welcoming and helpful. However, we both ordered things that weren't steak and tbh they weren't up to the price tag. My cod was dry and the squash had been doused in thyme and all was a bit dry, even with the sauce. My partner had rack of ribs and said it was a bit tasteless. Our server, Harvey, was attentive, with just the right amount of pleasant chat!

I went for Lunch with a friend and the Food was Excellent Quality and also Great Customer Service from start to finish.

Damola was a lovely server. She really helped with ordering. She was always on with the drinks and constantly asking for what we wanted next, she waas amazing!

We came here as a mixture of family and friends for a family members 18th birthday! The restaurant is very clean with friendly staff. Lots of meat choices and ideal for the teenage growing boys on our table. Yes they do add a 10% service charge on to your bill but it is not compulsory and you can ask for it to be removed. Unfortunately we had been told a cake would be brought out with it being a birthday but it wasn’t so we didn’t agree to the service charge. All in all a great experience and would return
