On our return from Wales my wife and I stumbled on this delightful pub by chance. We ordered a stacking burger and a beef curry. The food was excellent as was the friendly service. Portion size was excellent and the whole meal was great value for money.

This lady is rude with no customer service skills. She got my order completely wrong, ruining the surprise I had planned for a partners birthday. I messaged her asking what happened with the order and she didn’t reply for days. I messaged her again telling her I’d leave a bad review if she didn’t respond with a reason why the order was wrong, and why she has continued to blank me when asked about the order. She then called me being very rude down the phone saying all the things that were right with the order, but saying nothing about getting anything wrong. She just took my money and ran with it! giving me something I didn’t ask for. No offer of a remake, or a refund or even some of the money sent back. Unbelievable. Go elsewhere for your cakes, avoid this woman.

Would put 1/2 star if I could. Don’t bother visiting the wheel. Staff were extremely rude. We booked a table that could accommodate a pram as we had a newborn baby. We parked on the lower car park, when we walked around the sign to advertise the food was put in the middle of the footpath, prams or wheelchairs could not get past. If I had been waking with the pram alone I would not have been able to get past, as it is up bank and the pram could have rolled into the road. I am disgusted that the venue did not think about others accessibility needs when putting the sign out. We arrived inside, table was not set for the pram, so we removed a chair and placed it on the table next to us where there was space. The barman then shouted across that we could not put the pram in place of the chair as it was “health and safety” which we understood but then explained that we had requested to be put on a table where a pram would fit. The barman told us “you will have to take the pram out and hold the baby”. We found this extremely rude and the whole party left the venue. Safe to say we will not be returning back in future.

Always wanted to try this restaurant even when it was in Acocks Green and now that it’s in Solihull had high hopes . So we booked up for a Saturday night meal out , friendly front of house staff showed us to the table which was for six but there was only four of us no real issue but it left very little room to get round . Anyway the restaurant was full and extremely warm even with the fire doors open to try and keep the temperature down , so drinks order taken and we added water as well to make sure we had enough. So the starter I went for was the toast with prawns and mushrooms in a chilli butter sauce , spot on and went down a treat . The main I wanted wasn’t available so had to make another choice which was disappointing for a Saturday night, I went in the end for Francesinha Porto Douro which was very nice and would have again. We were so full that we didn’t order a sweet but when the coffee’s came they gave us some Portuguese tarts on the house . Overall not as I expected but willing to give it another chance and see if it improves .

I have been here several times for afternoon tea, and have always been delighted. Two savouries were served, a quiche and a small sausage roll. These were very good. The sandwiches however left me underwhelmed. The fillings of tuna, cheese and pickle, coronation chicken and a tomato are something I would serve at home. Whoever had made them was not overly generous with the fillings either. As for the bread, I can't say it was old, more likely made early and not covered so it had dried on the outside. The cakes were good, but not exceptional. Service was friendly, but they appeared to be short staffed as the scones took ages to arrive. We also waited nearly 15 minutes after requesting the bill, before we could pay. I was intending to come again for my birthday in a few weeks, but will look elsewhere.

The Knot It was absolutely lovely if you go book in the Snug log burner and food to die for had a pork crackling roast and the potatoes and veg come separately, I had smash burger with salt/pepper fries and slaw followed by Apple Tart Tatum and a lemon/pistachio Tuscan trifle couldn’t rate it highly xxxx
