Lazy Hill Tavern Ale Pub & Kitchen in Walsall

I'm not much of a drinker but I wouldn't mind trying out my local. Unfortunately, to do so, I would have to negotiate the dense fog of cigarette smoke as these customers crowd around the entrance. There's loads of space outside, so it just doesn't make sense. If people want to smoke, that's up to them, but please don't force it upon others.

First time at Lazy Hill really impressed with service we hadn't booked a table and it was very busy. But they still managed to get us a table within a couple of minutes by checking the bookings. Decor was amazing atmosphere was buzzing. We tried a large mixed grill and masala chips. Very reasonably priced. Very impressed we didn't have to wait to long for our meal considering how busy the place was. Mixed grill was actually a large when it came out not like other places you don't get a large even though you pay for a large. Very nicely cooked and tasty. Definitely will be going again again

Eaten here a few times. Wasn't the best Chicken Dopiaza I've had so was a little disappointed. The mixed grill here are great and it has a very vibrant atmosphere. Really like the place

Popped in last night for a few beers and some food. Two friends from Smethwick joined me so the standard needed to be good lol. Love the fact it's a proppa pub at the front then a clean contemporary Tikka restaurant at the back. Lads were very very pleased. We orderd Fish Pakora and it was crispy fresh tasting and full of flavour. The chicken wings were probably some of the best I had and with a nickname of Chicken Dicken that's a big call. The lads ordered a mixed wrap each and was shocked at the size and amount of meat. Over all a great experience with top notch food.

Lovely dining experience, even my fussy kids loved it and ate everything 🤣 Definately be returning soon.

Faultless experience. Food came really quickly and was delicious.

At 1st, I didn't think we were in the right place but followed the sign for the restaurant. We were greated and shown to our table. The menu had a great selection to choose from. We ordered at the counter which was different. The food came and it was delicious. We were really impressed. I will be back and would definitely recommend anyone to go there and give it a try.

If you're looking for a quiet "meal for two" then find somewhere else. This place is lively, gregarious, fast and clean. The staff are very efficient and the service is very fast. The food is of a very reasonable standard and the portions are plentiful with a wide ranging menu; All in all a cracking place to eat if you like hustle and bustle with a genuine Asian "Street Food" ambience. I'd definitely go back if I lived in the area.

The food is absolutely immaculate. It always come out in great timing, a little more on the spicy side. What’s more is that the portion sizes are very generous. There is nothing to fault about this grill other than the noise dampening, or the lack of it. I feel due to the nature of the rooms the noise echoes around. Sound deadening clouds would be a great addition but apart from that, be SURE to eat here. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity. :)

A bit of a self service type restaurant which was not what I expected. Friendly staff and decent food but I’m unlikely to return as I like waiter service.

Great food and drinks available. You have to order food at a counter. Food gets delivered all together with no concept of courses, so I suggest you order when you require a course.

Excellent food. The Pathia was delicious. Friendly and very efficient staff. It was very noisy, however with either loud football commentary or loud music, so it was very difficult to hold a conversation which was a bit disappointing.

I've eaten in and taken food away. As. Vegan it's not always easy to find decent meat alternative meals. This place offers quite a range and is always so tasty. The service is efficient and the staff helpful. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this place to anyone. Big thumbs up.

Great choice of food and excellent quality. Service is prompt and being a popular venue, there is a mood of moving folk on quickly to turn tables. Being busy gives this place a vibrant atmosphere. With a wide choice of drinks to choose from, Lazy Hill Tavern is one of our favourite places.

It’s lively, busy, and has the perfect grill atmosphere as you’d hope for. The menu is good for a grill, but the choices were all very similar, and somehow, despite the large menu, lacked a little variety. The small plates can be eaten as mains though, with great portion sizes! I shared a mixed grill, with the chicken tikka and fish pakora being the standout. The chutney tray was also immense, very tasty sauces! I had a roti which was just okay, being far too similar to the naan, and a tarka dal, again, nice, but nothing special and not really close to that you’d get from a curry house. The staff were friendly enough and all in all it’s a grill I would recommend.

I booked a table for 22 people as a surprise birthday gift and was really happy with the experience. Although it was extremely busy, quite noisy, all 22 meals came out at the same time, piping hot and served with outstanding customer service. Staff are efficient and friendly, food is delicious. I would highly recommend it

Super speedy service. I ordered poppadoms to start , they were delivered to the table before I sat down! Fish pathia is amazing, Christmas crackers were a nice touch as well.

I love my Desi pubs with their curry and grill offerings. So following business in the area, I gave the LHT a chance and it didn’t disappoint! Since then I’ve been back numerous times, trying different dishes and they’ve all been superb. I’ve even been back, with my wife (bro & sister in law) who are Punjabi (me being a Gora) and even they enjoyed the food!!! Added context - I live 25 miles away and it’s well worth the journey!!

Lovely Indian food 😋 👌 Lots of space and lovely space type and garden looking deco can accommodate huge parties 🌹🎄 Amazing food Indian Grill😋 kiddies menu and also Pub at the front for 🍸 🍹 drinks 🍾 We really enjoyed the Chilli fish was yummy 😋

I organised a christmas meal out for my slimming world friends, we chose this tavern as we'd heard great things about the food. Brilliant atmosphere, quick service, gorgeous setting, and the food was delicious. I'll definitely be back again soon. 😀

Awesome little gem. Food is delicious and the stuff is so nice and helpful. Very clean and hygiene has been taken care. Waitresses and waiters are waring gloves and hair protection. Prices are reasonable as well. Will definitely be back.

Good atmosphere, not too busy but comfortable. Mixed grill was delicious - fish panoramic nice and crispy, lamb chops and chicken tikka also very flavoursome. Chicken wings were moist, but lacked any real spice or seasoning. Chicken pattia was immense, sweet and hot, chicken very tender. Lamb rogan josh, sauce was fiery, and lamb a little tough (just over). Service was great, warm and friendly.

5 start food and service. Booked a table for half 6. Sat down, went a placed are order and payed, food was on are table in 10 mins hot and good portions 👍🏻. We was full, finished and out by 7. Very fast and efficient defo recommend

You pay what you get for...good spicy food...but worth it

It's a midweek eatery for us, too busy and too loud at the weekends. Food is fantastic though, staff are hardworking and look after you well, we will keep going back!

The service alone gets this 5 We forgot an order and they got it out to us lightning quick so we could all eat together rather than wait. Jalfrezi and wraps were great. Food was amazing, very popular and good selections. Booking is a must. Thanks to the staff for keeping us in check and for great service.

What a undercover pub this is. From the outside and when you walk in, I thought I went to the wring place, but behind the front bar is a lovely orangery type room that was rammed packed with customers. Food and drinks are nice here.

Large restaurant with extensive menu with Indian food at the back of this pub. The mixed grill is great value and exec it Ed well. I would recommend this place for a place to meet friends or take the family.

We had a great first experience here. The venue is very nice and provides a great atmosphere. The food looked and tasted great, with the veggie grill being a highlight. With there being a number of grill pubs in the area, this is by far the best one

Fantastic food, brilliant service. A classic pub when you walk in and then you go into the back and it's really smart and tidy. I had a hot Pathia and some Dhal, it was brilliant, we'll be back soon!

The mixed grill was amazing smart place with brilliant staff well worth a visit.

A very good pub/Indian restaurant. Well kept three draught beers - Wye Valley Butty Bach, Castle Rock Harvest Pale and one other. The absence of Backyard Blonde is much lamented. Fine selection of lagers, keg beers and ciders. Can't speak about the wine selection. Be aware there are large screen TVs in all rooms. Tables and leather bench seats as well as chairs. Log burner in winter months. Can get crowded on local football tie days/evenings.

Ordered from Uber eats and the order came wrong. Called the restaurant for 10 minutes. Spoke to somebody from the kitchen who explained what had happed but said nothing they could do to fix it unless we collected which obviously we couldn’t hence ordering off Uber. They then said that actually our order was right implying that I’m lying. All very odd kept saying sorry but couldn’t tell me what I was meant to do since I have paid for food I hadn’t got. Eventually after being on the phone for 12 minutes and keep asking what I need to do to either get the correct food or a refund I was told to deal with Uber…

We always used to use here and was great We went last week and food was awful had no taste to it and was swimming in grease! I have since then messaged via social media platforms regarding this but have been totally ignored Will not be returning!! It’s true what they say it’s always the bad experience you remember but it really was the worst tasting food I’d had in a while and cost £50 too for 2 people

Whilst we were sat eating staff were moving tables joining them to ours. Very unprofessional all they cared about was getting more people in. A shame really because the food was delicious but the customer service was very poor

The restaurant is at the back of the pub so if you haven't been dont be put off by the front bit as we nearly were. The food was beautiful, the service & atmosphere was really good, definitely going again.

Food was excellent and staff were friendly. Looks great inside in the restaurant and would recommend to anyone looking for a good place to get some food and drinks. They serve a lot of vegetarian food too and this is listed on a separate side of the menu which is very helpful. Atmosphere was good as was really busy for a weekday evening and prices were good too.

Actually the worse service I’ve come across The wait staff were as polite as they could be with no management back up. The management staff are rude and disgusting. I have never come across such a condescending woman. Table service was VERY slow

Absolutely fantastic Desi-pub... Haven't been here for years, so was very surprised by the amount of space it has. A good choice of curry type meals and grills at a reasonable price. Good choice of draught drinks at the bar. You queue up to order food, and again to order drinks... Seems to work well and the food came out quite quickly. The only gripe was the weird "dance" music being played too loud that made it difficult to have a conversation... Follow up visit... Not as good. Felt really rushed, they brought out poppadoms but no plates, then brought out plates and the mains within moments. Would not recommend the salad, it was tiny, mostly lettuce. However, the background music was better and not as loud (shame about the group of "grown men" behind us who were shouting and messing about ...)

There's a spectacular range of Indian food that tastes delicious. Service was quick and staff were very understanding of allergies and dealt with it accordingly. The atmosphere is amazing and we had the opportunity to watch the football game too. Would definitely visit Lazy Hill again! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
