Steak house Baba reeba in Walsall

Have had meals there a few times now. Good selection available. Portions are rather small. Food was tasty. It's Halal. Will recommend.

I look forward to the reincarnation of this place as sadly it is closing soon. The menu has a few tapas, but mainly steaks, burgers and pizzas. The pizza was excellent, balanced and tasted really good. Onto the gourmet burger, these can sometimes be dry and bland, however this was moist and had a punch of flavour in it. Finally the steak, perfectly cooked and juicy. Peppercorn sauce good but mushroom sauce a bit too watery. The prices don't match the food, they really are cheap. The foundations are set for future success.

It's very hard to find good halal steaks. Most of the so called steak places tend to spoil the meat with too much spice. Not at Baba reeba!They do really good steaks and pizzas there and whenever we are visiting family in the midlands we go there for a meal. The place is very nice and quiet and the owner is always around for a chat. He also does take suggestions on board which is really good.Haven't tried the paellas but I have no doubt that it will be very good too! Next time...

Started off promising but no prawns, no diet coke!! My partners eventually arrived, but the paella had turned into a risotto though, was tasty but was still a risotto! My Steak was very good, ordered a 6oz fillet only to be told by the lad serving it was small and more of a ‘kids size’ I said i was aware of the size and happy with it! Very tasty and served hot. Then to top it off a couple of indian women came in and sat down to be served Diet coke ..... ....sorry wanted it to be good but won’t be going again

Took my wife for a meal. The food was totally freshly cooked, and was absolutely delicious. Every dish was amazing, and the chef came out for a chat and explained the dishes fully.Only complaint was the drink - I had a berry mocktail which took ages to come, and was just a load of mushy fruit presented badly.This is a minor point though as everything else was amazing!

Went there on a Friday night with friends, pretty quiey when we got there. Booked for a group of 10. Ordered an extra large pizza and couple of paella for starters and everyone ordered steaks as mains.Pizza tasted great as did the paella. Menu stated baked potato slices are only available on sat/sun however staff were accommodating and did this for the few that wanted as a side. The steaks themselves were one of the best steaks I've had, perfectly cooked as requested although accompanying sauce could've been bought to table with the steak. As I'd eaten half before my sauce cameCan't fault the food as everything was delicious.Reason for the 4 star is due to the service, although went out their way to accommodate service was very slow. Most probably because they are not used to catering for large groups. Will be sure to return

This 'small' steakhouse on a side street next to Walsall Town Centre is a serious hidden gem. ..from the outside it may seem unappealing (to some) but it's what's on the inside that counts.At this momrnt in time this place definitely serves the best steaks in West Midlands and shows the establishments in Birmingham what a proper steak is. Ba ba Reeba serves great Spanish food, aswell as excellent stone baked pizzas, and of course the steaks...which were done perfectly to our requirements.Service was very good and laid back. ..at no point did we feel rushed. Parking is available outside the restaurant. Pricing is very reasonable.This place is out of the way for some but is worth the trip if you want good food. 10/10.Keep up the good work guys.

We visited Ba Ba Reebas tonight and it was such a pleasant evening, food was great and so was the service ...we enjoyed every second of it and hope to come back for a different dish!

Looks can be deceiving! A few friends of mine spoke highly about Ba Ba Reeba. I didn't make effort to visit because Walsall isn't convenient for me to travel to and I had reservations about the menu. Tapas, paella, pizzas, burgers, steaks and desi just seemed confusing to me and I assumed they'd be jack of all trades who tried to do everything just ok. HOW WRONG I WAS! In a very hidden location what looks like a standard takeaway is actually a clean simple but spacious restaurant with subtle Spanish and Mediterranean touches. Starters we went for were the wings and meatballs which were very nice. The meatballs especially were high quality and a lovely Spanish sauce.Now for the best part! I went for a 17oz Tbone with the mushroom sauce and 2 sides for £17!! The steak was perfectly mid rare, thick in texture but easy to cut and eat. Soft, juicy and well seasoned- simple but done properly! Divine sauce with crispy steak chips and onions which accompanied the steak perfectly.There are plenty of steak places in Birmingham area which are in prominent locations, advertise dry aged, 28 day matured etc but Ba Ba Reeba beats them hands down in value and quality of food. Only thing that let's this place down is that it's hidden so to keep the restaurant going I'm hoping more people discover it and keep going or this place moves somewhere more prominent. I can say I'll definitely visit Walsall more often to sample rest of the menu.

We visited this restaurant after finding on the tastecard website, however they don't accept this any longer. Having read the reviews we decided to give it a try anyway and are really pleased we did! We visited on a quiet Saturday night. Service was friendly and efficient. I opted for a 6oz ribeye whilst my partner went for 14oz t-bone. Steaks come with 2 sides and a sauce. Food was quickly prepared and served. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were generously portioned.All in all our 2 steaks and 2 drinks came to £28 which is excellent value for money. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this eatery.

We had house special pizza and house special tapas and a side of chips, after afternoon tea we didn’t have much space left. The food was just delicious! The only reason I gave it a 4 is because the toilet was not clean. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful too.

I go here regularly now for business meetings as well as with family and friends.

After reading a review saying this was Walsall’s hidden gem, me and my partner decided to have our valentines meal here and it was amazing!!! The steak was FULL of flavour, by far the best i have tasted in a long time, friendly staff all round a excellent choice of restaurant!! Highly recommend!!

Heard about this place from many many people and friends, they all said amazing things about the food. so I decided to pop in with my mate Jack who loves his steaks. we ordered some tapas and let me tell you hmmmm yum yum. then the steaks followed and what can i say. The best steak we have ever had. This place is truly a gem of walsall. i think they should change there name to THE KING OF STEAKS.

A group of 13 opted for Spanish cuisine for our year end gathering. The food was good. Spicy Chicken Wings and Prawns follow by a wonderful Seafood Paella. We all had a great time at this little gem - we certainly will be returning.

Have been a few times with friends. The steaks here have got to be the best non Angus Beef steaks I've had (I've eaten a lot of steak). This place is now our go to for steak, without a second thought. Other Birmingham Halal Steak Houses don't stand a chance. The other food is also top notch and really well cooked.

I been meaning to try this place for quite some time now. So decided to go last saturday to Baba Reeba in Walsall. as we walked in was greeted by one of the staffs, quickly sat and gave us the menu.

Great steak house with great choices and for adults and children although the portions of chips and rice are small but still fantastic.The decor is interesting and the staff very friendly so pop down and try a local steak in walsall and it is halal if anyone is Muslim...

steak was so nice and soft, just the way I like it. Perfection! Me and the family will definetely be ordering again in the near future.

We ordered out with baba reeba whilst staying at one of the local hotels. The food was absolutely amazing, both myself and my wife were extremely satisfied with the meal. I'm quite a steak enthusiast and this is definitely one of the best that I've had in the midlands. You can tell the food is made with passion and care. We might just travel up again just for the food!

I have to say that was the most amazing steak I have ever had, was cooked to perfection the size quality was perfect. We had chicken wings with a nice spicy tangy sauce on top which were so tasty and we had the meatballs as a starter which was the right portion was very delicious. I had the 10oz sirloin med well which was just right taste just everything was on point. I had a mint mojito which was made just how i like it. I have to say this place is the best place I have been by far. I will definitely coming back. The owner Imran was very welcoming and friendly thank you very much for your hospitality.

My parents were visiting from Ireland wanted somewhere to cater for a range of pallets.

Went here with my partner after finding it listed on the Gourmet Society website and can't recommend it enough. Having been to the top end of Walsall many times, I was surprised had never noticed this place before.

Just visited this place with my husband and son. We ordered kebabs a pizza chicken steak and the biriyani. Although the mains took an hour ... it was worth the wait! The food was very tasty! the service was also great and all at a great price too! Deffo worth a visit!

This place is in a side street of what looks like used to be a buzzing town. We would have missed it if we hadn't looked it up on Tripadvisor and Tastecard. Everything was delicious and we will be back to try other things on the menu! We didn't use the tastecard in the end because we decided on trying the Fillet Steaks at £16.99 each...two each! Succulent, juicy, tasty and with a delicious sauce and stuff. The manager/owner is charming, a really good guy who took the effort to chat with us for some time. Impressive. I can't rate this place enough and it makes all the usual places look only 'adequate'. Good value for money, well cooked/created, lovely atmosphere - GREAT! Well done BabaReeba.

We went for the Spanish tapas and paella and having just come back from Spain were really impressed by the food. We were well looked after and the staff had a real enthusiasm about the food they were offering. This place offers a lot more than you might first think! Well worth a visit.

10/10 great service and amazing food good value as well had 4 tapas dishes. fillet steak which was cooked to perfection. paella desserts and 6 drinks{none alcoholic as these are not served here} all for less than £60. Staff are all friendly and helpful and restaurant is very clean and tidy. all in all I recommend you try for yourself as tastes differ but could not pick one fault with my visit.

The food and service was impeccable 10/10!! Would recommend the sirloin steak served with steak cut chips and spicy rice with peppercorn sauce. And for a starters I would recommended the spicy chicken wings with a glass of their finest red wine

The food was sumptuous, cooked fresh and presented eloquently. There was music to accompany the meal which added to the ambience and the occasion. All in all it was a lovely evening made complete by the enthusiasm and courtesy of the staff

After reading a few reviews on tripadvisor I thought i'd come and check out this place. One of the reviews I had read was complimenting the steak so I thought I would give it a go and it didn't dissapoint! It was hands down the best steak I have tried and the paella was also tasty. The customer service was excellent I would definately reccomend.

Best quality and tasty steaks around. Highly recommended. Also try the chicken soup for your starter. Probably the best chicken soup I have ever tasted!

Went with husband and kids last night. Nice decor. Open kitchen. Kids had freshly made pizza and burger. They loved it. Hubby and I had gambas ajillo and tortilla for starters. And then we had steak. Cooked to perfection. I like my steak medium. Very tender and juicy. Great service too.

Wanted to try something different so googled Spanish reseraunts in walsall and Baba Reeba came up something Spanish? found the menu had a lot of Choice the food was tasty the staff was very friendly and very reasonably priced.Couldn't fault The experience.

I went there today with my brother about 5ish. I wouldn't trust the negative feedback received on here. I ordered a lasagne and it was fine. Waiters are really friendly.

After reading the last review I wasnt sure if I should eat at this restaurant but having all my friends brag about how good the food is at Steak House Baba Reeba I decided to make a visit. My first impression of the deco was I felt like I was sitting in a Spanish restaurant. We spoke with Owner who was brilliant at helping to choose our food. I had a chicken steak burger cooked beautifully and fresh. They have an open kitchen and nothing to hide, you can watch them prepare your food and I can promise you it's clean and all fresh. My girlfriend had the paella. was also cooked fresh and tasted mind blowing. We finished off with house made Tiramisu and that hit the spot. After speaking with the owner he insured us the food is all fresh and even offered us to come to the kitchen and check how clean this place was. And I believed everything he has said. This place is amazing and I have already got my family and friends to come and dine here. They all loved everything this place has to offer. Will definitely be returning very soon. Walsall was lacking a great place to eat and this place has given life back into walsall food industry.

My partner and I visited after reading some of the reviews and left rather disappointed. When you get the menu you notice how little Spanish food is on there and how much Italian. If I wanted Italian I would go to an Italian not a Spanish restaurant.

We ended up here because our others choices in Walsall were closed but this place was disappointing. Not much in the way of Spanish food, not much tapas choice, plenty of Italian and pizzas, some indian. We chose the seafood paella - the fish was tasteless, the large prawns overcooked - and that was about it for seafood, although the rice was ok. Overall not very tasty, not very big portions, not much choice of drinks, no beer and service was distinctly lacking.

Been here numerous times and each time was better than the previous. Exceptional service, great authentic Spanish food, the steaks are very very good quality, try the fillet steak! A hidden gem in walsall!

Ordered the seafood paella and to my surprise, it tasted really good! The dish had a depth of flavour and the rice was not starchy. Will absolutely pay another visit if im down walsall again.

Arrived for tapas via a groupon voucher. Food was average; a few things not to our taste but no worries. Had to pay extra for sea food which was a shame but it was ok. Service was good though by one of the guys (the elder out of the two) but the young one was miserable and wouldn't stop messing with his hair. Unhygienic. Thankfully other guy made up for it and very helpful. Thanks.

I visited this tapas bar with rest of family 3 adults 2 children, using a groupon voucher, which valued the tapas @ about £3 each. The tapas were tasty and a reasonable portion, but as is common I find in most English tapas bars even @ £3 slightly overpriced.

This is the second time that I've visited Baba Reeba. The first time I went the food was absolutely amazing, I had the chicken wings starter, and the chicken and beef paella. It was easily the best Paella I have ever had. The customer service was excellent as well, very friendly, outgoing and personally tailored. The owner whom is such a genuine and down to Earth person recommended that I try the steak when I return. I came back and tried it a few weeks later and waa seriously blown away. Completely outclasses; Toros, Miller and Carter, and other speciality steak housrs I've been to. Quality food, great flavour, and priced fairly. Would highly recommend!

My husband and I wanted a rare evening out but craved something different from the usual curries and burgers which typify a halal menu. Baba Reeba offered just that - a plethora of appetising Spanish foods delivered in a subtly themed restaurant. Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly; the food was delicious and the restaurant clean, comfortable and spacious. I particularly loved the fact no alcohol was served on the premises. However none alcoholic wine was on offer. I ordered the vegetable paella and my husband tried the chicken and beef, both were tasty. Portion sizes are adequate- neither too small or too excessive. We definitely intend to visit again with family.

Went to visit this place tonight, not expecting much for a place in Walsall but we we're so wrong. Ordered a steak and seafood paella which were both perfectly cooked. Credit to the chef, the steak was very flavoursome and perfectly cooked. Best steak in the midlands!! Paella tasted great, very authentic taste! Highly recommended and will bring a party soon!!

I've been meaning to go to Baba Reeba for a while and finally got the chance to go. I was not disappointed the food was excellent. I recommend the paella and the cannelloni. The food is delicious and is value for money. The owner is very welcoming and helped us to pick our food. Its the only halal Spanish restaurant around and it just happens to be amazing.

Well as this is a local restaurant for me I wanted to try it ...entering the restaurant it wasn't the best decor but hope was still on the up, I decided to try the T-bone steak and my friend the fillet steak...also decided to try the non-alcoholic wine to down the steak and it was satisfactory I will have to go back and try a few things on the menu. The sides were really well done and tasty and steak well done worth a visit ...the chef has worked in a 5 star hotel in Spain so he has good experience..so hop on down and try it.....

Our son took us to this Spanish halal tonight. We were a bit apprehensive but the food was good and we had a really super meal. The decor of the restaurant is ok, service very slow but the food is fantastic and big portions. The chef's special pasta dish was the best , while other three mains were good too. The starters tapas also enjoyed.

We have been twice to ba ba reeba now and both times we have had an excellent experience. The owner/waiter is very knowledgable about the dishes and explains sourcing and cooking methods. Extremely polite and attentive. Food is delicious and it's worth taking up the recommendations from the owner. Steak is the best I've had in a long time. Prices very reasonable for the quality. Nice atmosphere and quirky decor. A relief from the homogenous gastro-pub stuff.

Visited this place because I'd seen the sign from the road at the back by the Lyndon House and there was a groupon deal for Tapas.

We had as a family been meaning to go the Ba Ba Reeba for ages and on a whim went, although we were unable to call ahead and book as the phone was not answering, but in the end at 5.30 we were only one of two other tables there, so a good time to go as the service was excellent because of that.

Friendly staff and lovely food at a reasonable price! A complimentary dessert too a nice touch :) definitely go and give it a try!!!!

We were the first customers arriving at 5:00 so we had 100% service. The young man welcomed us and was polite and super helpful throughout our visit. Nothing was too much trouble and he made an effort with our boys. Food was delicious and he explained the menu well as we'd not tried Spanish food before. All in all big thumbs up, looking forward to another visit.

The food here is amazing I've ate multiple times and enjoyed every meal. The Spanish menu is very authentic and the steaks wonderful, cooked to perfection and served with great sauces. Service is also great and you'll always leave wanting more! Great little restaurant.

We stumbled across this place and wondered what we had let ourselves in for! However, everything about this place was just lovely; the food was plentiful and really tasty and the owner/manager was very friendly and welcoming.

Arrived at the restaurant, for a evening meal with my son, our 2nd visit. Ordered pizza to share for a starter, we didn't wait Long, for it to arrive and we already had our drinks. Pizza was nice, hot, and tasty. We ordered our mains, which arrived after we finished our starter, again cooked lovely and presented well. Our meal wasn't the problem at the restaurant, it was the very rude guests at another table, who in my opinion was very arrogant, towards the owner when it came to paying their bill, even tho their left over plates were empty.... This restaurant is one of my favourite places to dine, its nicely decorated, the staff are nice, the food is great and the coffee is nice for after too. We didn't order desserts this time, as we were full from our meals. I defiantly recommend it and will be returning again soon.

Booked a table for 8pm for my sisters birthday food was ordered and we were told it would be 30 minute wait as everything is cooked fresh .... no problem we said the restaurant was not busy just us and a table of about 8 ppl ... after 1 hour no food 2 hours still no food the other table were making contact complaints we over heard about the service the food they also waited ages for their food to b served some of the mains where served however other guests on that table were waiting 15 or 20 minutes for their food meaning ppl had finished their main while others where waiting..... don't forget it was only them and us in the place..... it came to 2 and half hours before our food arrived....... in between all this we smelt burning ....... anyway I soon found out that it was my meal that was burning at i was served bits of lamb ...OMG.... I complained sent it back asked if I wanted another one well I said how am I going to reorder and wait another 2 and a half hours no thank u I watched my family eat there's and they weren't even happy with the quality it was awful the worst experience I've ever had .... we had no apology just that it's cooked fresh ...... and it's busy ..... busy with only 10 or so ppl that is not busy what I it b like if it was busy I dread to think..... how they are getting good reviews is beyond me ..... I went home hungry ordered a lovely curry ..... feeling very very unhappy they didn't even give us a discount for the inconvenience and spoiling my sisters birthday very very bad restaurant pls do not attempt to try this unprofessional incompetent backstreet place .......

Visited this establishment with my wife and children, very nice surroundings and a Spanish feel to the atmosphere. Staff are friendly and really helpful. Food was fantastic, a large choice of dishes to choose from and we opted for many varieties to sample all flavours and we was not disappointed once. Will definitely become a regular place to visit now.

Tried this restaurant out recently with a Groupon, and glad we did. It's opposite Sofia's Italian and a little tucked away, and when we went on a weekday evening it was quiet inside - but a very warm welcome from the staff.

Visited at lunch time with a group of friends. The cafe was very quiet and the waiter was very attentive. Food took a while to be served but is freshly made. Prices very reasonable

A second visit to the restaurant was as good as the first. We tried a different menu and the food was really nice. The maitre d was friendly and helped us in choosing our meals. He even took the time to ask my 8 year olds preference of her meal which was quite nice. Everything from the starters to the dessert was wonderful. Looking forward to another trip soon.

We had a lovely fresh salad there with 5 of my friends 1 of us had the set dinner menu which was 3courses and value for money ,a little quiet there for a dinner time. Toilets where basic there

We booked a table for six on Saturday night really looking forward to Spanish food. We have worked for a Spanish company for 20 years plus had a family home in Spain so know exactly how and what tapas should be. The food is good and nearly authentic although the spacing of the very nice tapas coming out should have been more scheduled as we waited ages then loads came out when the panne tomate could have come out in a few minutes. The paella came in just a white bowl instead of in the traditional steel pan and was quite plain and more like a dry risotto. Ok ish. Pizza really good. Most bizarre is that they do not allow alcohol. Not even allowed to bring your own!! What???? The house alcohol free wine is truly awful so we all drank Coke which was a good price. So... what a great shame. So many people will NOT return if they cannot enjoy a relaxing glass of proper wine or a beer just as the Spanish do.........

My wife & I turned up quite early on a Saturday evening & were seated immediately. The menu was quite complete & for veggies or meat eaters there should be no problem finding something to suit . The portions were generous & the food very flavoursome . We would not hesitate to recommend BaBa Reeba , although I would suggest booking at busy times as it was filling up nicely as we left .
