Homestead Willenhall in Walsall

It's what you would call a pub,pub. It's your typical friendly local. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was nothing special but was fresh and piping hot. I would pop in again if I was local.

What a gem! If you want home cooked food this place is definitely worth a visit! Food was amazing and generous portions. Staff are amazing polite and attentive. Will definitely visit again. There were table set up for Christmas parties which were decorated lovely! We will definitely be returning to try the Sunday lunches.

Went for Christmas meal so disappointed the pate came with the worst piece of bread slightly toasted main course was average but never had breakfast sausages wrapped in bacon passed off as pig in blankets no sprouts or parsnips asked for apple sauce got none basically a Sunday lunch and dessert was ok no atmosphere and would have been nice if table had been dressed up a bit not worth the money sorry thank you for replying but I always have pâté as a starter and that was definitely not Melba toast it was a crust slice white bread with the bread taken out and toasted i have eaten there many times and always enjoyed my meals even recommended it to my friends shame this meal wasn't as good

We met up with friends for a Christmas meal. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

The Homestead is in need of a bit of modernisation but it does well with what it and the location it's in (the no drugs warning sign as you walk in is the context here and this review is written within that context). The menu is basic pub food but ok and the bar has a weird thing where it's split between two rooms so the staff have to position themselves between the two rooms meaning that there's a bell you ring to get the attention of the bar stuff. It's kind of quirky but it works. I tried the scampi which was fine and what you'd expect in terms of standard, and the prices are reasonable. If the pub was modernised and the menu revitalised it could be a lot better but as it stands it's an ok pub serving the local community which is very much where it's focus is at.

Celebrated my moms 60th here today and want to say the food was a good home cooked meal! I had salmon and it was really nice! I also wanted to say outstanding service from Jenny who even helped me feed my baby! Lovely local pub where staff go above and beyond!

Wow wow wow!!! Came here on a whim after shopping and was greeted with your grandfathers favourite drinking hole. We were both simply blown away by the food. I had the mega mixed grill to get a bit of a taste of everything and I was presented with a heaving plate of pure meaty goodness. Chicken that fell apart in my mouth, sausages that oozed meaty juices, a steak cooked to perfection (med rare), a thick succulent gammon steak topped with two perfect fried eggs, home cut and cooked chips and a healthy dose of fresh garden peas. The Mrs had a vegetarian lasagne that was also perfect, cooked with fresh veg rather than Korn meat and was piping hot with a good side of home cut and cooked chips with some excellent garlic bread. Simply gorgeous food, served in a timely manner and by our wonderful server Jenny who was really personable and helpful. Highly recommended! We found a diamond in the rough with this place! We shall 100% be back very soon!

As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. The food arrived promptly and was freshly cooked, seasoned to perfection. More importantly tasted delicious , Service was faultless 10/10. Highly recommended Great atmosphere too

Well what a lovely surprise,had an amazing Sunday lunch with all the trimmings, and a cheeky pudding as well , very good value indeed would highly recommend

I had build your burger with chips and salad and cream fried onions and onion rings wow amazing came to piping hot and presented lovely host Jenny was very welcoming and friendly and the meal was the best pub meal I had for a long time, big burger and homemade chips spot on would highly recommend this place for food 11 out 10 for me 👍

We held my son's funeral wake here recently and we ordered the hot and cold buffet. The food was lovely, it was fresh and there was plenty to go round. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and drinks were reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend. Thank you

We have visited The Homestead several times and the food is excellent, especially the mixed grill, as it is plentiful & beautifully cooked & presented.

A really lovely local pub with a good choice of beers and a great food menu including Veggie options and a Specials board too . We went for dinner about 18:30 and were surprised at the selections available , my wife had the Surf and Turf & I had the Veggie Fajitas. All of the food was good , fresh , looked lovely and tasted lovely too. Proper home cooked chips as well…. Brilliant. Jenny really looked after us and it was great value too. Dawn and Rob Banner have this place just right , a really friendly local pub doing good food , offering great drinks and entertainment too at the weekends . Give it a go you won’t be disappointed

Absolutely amazing food. I had the rump steak and it was cooked to perfection. Beautiful homemade chips and kids meals were brilliant, portion was really good. Service was excellent, from taking our orders to encouraging kids to finish their meals. Would 10/10 recommend

We went in homestead Friday 29th March for late lunch/ early dinner. Hubby had mixed grill and I had Beef lasagne chips garlic bread and salad. It was all delicious, plates were left empty. Staff are always friendly and very competent. See you again on Sunday for lunch !! Xx

Lisa was so lovely and engaging, she kept our 4 YO daughter very entertained with little fun jobs - which was a dream - so that we could enjoy our meal! Thanks so much Lisa and Jenny - hugs from some exhausted parents! Xx

Popped in on the off chance. Me and the wife chose from the main menu which was full of choice I chose the mixed grill cooked to perfection no complaints. Kitchen staff was amazing nothing was a problem and will definitely be going back

Popped in on a random Tuesday for a quick bite to eat and a drink. As always service was good, food was lovely and Lisa was a great hostess. Lovely pub and the staff are always happy to have a chat and a laugh. Literally two streets away from home so will keep coming back 👍

Meal not too bad but was disappointed to be asked to vacate table after 45 minutes would have liked to have had another drink but didn't like to stay any longer.

Had a meal with my family as this is there local pub for eating out. Was very impressed with the food it was home cooked and tastes as good as it looks excellent. Staff and service very good. Will be back😄😄

Had our works Xmas meal for 2 years now, it was lovely. The food was great, the staff were friendly and the drinks prices were quite reasonable.

Although very local to where we live, the Homestead hadn't been somewhere I've used. Decided to meet up with a friend and our kids after school for tea. I had a steak salad, my friend enjoyed hunters chicken and kids chose classic kids meals which followed with ice-cream. Drinks were average priced with a good drinks selection. Portions were fab, prices great and staff were friendly and very hospitable as well as service being very efficient. Would highly recommend

Lovely pub which we found by chance . Great atmosphere within the bar and although we didn't book for lunch . They managed to squeeze us in 👍🏼 lovely food and great staff . Would definitely recommend and will definitely drop by again whilst visiting family. Thank you again for squeezing us in .

Went there with our lass to get a quick bite and drink and the staff were lovely and so attentive to making sure that the food was good and if we needed anything we got two burgers and chips the taste and presentation was amazing the 2 ladies we spoke to dawn and lisa they were so good and definitely convinced us to go again deffo deserve a raise the menu had plenty to choose from they have regular events through the week and me and my partner wanna try all the menu over the times we visit

Family & dog friendly pub, great atmosphere with good singers at the weekends. Food is amazing & servers are lovely, always happy to help. Bar meals available too if you want something less formal

We go to the Homestead most weeks for Sunday lunch and it’s delicious. We also eat during the week and the food is always wonderful. The quality of the food is excellent and the staff are friendly and very efficient. I would recommend this pub to everyone

Birthday Bash. Well catered for. Three girl staff on bar duty very good & polite. I recommend them.

A well presented establishment with a very tidy garden area. The interior decor was cozy and clean. All the staff were very helpful and attentive. A great selection of traditional pub favourites, burgers, veggie and childs options. I opted for gammon, egg/pineapple and chips, plus usual sides. The staff were very willing to adjust my order for a minimal charge. In many ways, it was a delight to my tongue. The meat was succulent, eggs to perfection and chips as good as me nans! Is not my first eating experience here and will not be my last.

Our local. Our home from home. Fantastic, friendly atmosphere. Excellent entertainment. The service is second to none. I don’t think we’ve ever had a bad day/night at the pub. With the addition of AJ’s Bistro, and the amazing food on offer, The Homestead really does have it all.

Had a fab night at the homestead. Rib eye steak was exceptional. The Stilton and mushroom sauce was soooo good. I was full but couldn’t resist the aero cheesecake. Bloomin marvellous. Fantastic service from the lovely Lisa and Rob behind the bar. We’re not local but was made welcome. Great to see a thriving family friendly pub doing well. Traditional, caring hospitality whether a regular customer or travelling through. Thoroughly recommend and will be back.

Really nice people and very accommodating. Came down from North Wales to do my brothers party .Disturbed that people from main bar had access to our party .Sound bleed over from disco, and karaoke in the main bar was distracting for the guests .
