After reading reviews on this cafe, breakfast was needed, so today I drove for an hour breakfast was ordered, Sarah's special, fantastic, eggs, salmon, fresh and tasty. Coffee and great service. Quiet because of virus, but when you have worded all week I just had to make a visit. People phone to book.
After a couple of yrs, the impression this little cafe has left on my memory is very good.
This restaurant was not called what we expected. There was no shop front with Momo no ki on the sign. On the street was a pub/bar and its only from this site we asked about the noodle bar. The building was lovely, very old and characterful.
We were sent upstairs and told there are two menus. Confusing if you walk in off the street and no menu online anywhere.
However we both ordered ramen from the short menu given to us. It was hot, tasty and plentiful. No space for pudding either. Just needs more signage and publicity!
So disappointed!! I’ve ordered a few times and even went in when they had a restaurant on Far Gosford Street due to it being authentic and deliciously better than any Caribbean takeaway in Coventry.
However the food I ordered today was so appalling - Caribbean lamb roast had multiple short black hairs in it and the ginger beer was sent in a CUP wrapped in cling film??? Which of course spilled out during delivery so was only a quarter full and then found it was incredibly watered down. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll ever order again and need to find a new place as this experience really ruined it for me. What a shame as I used to recommend here to friends.
On the way back from Liverpool airport my car broke down with my wife and young children with me. I managed to get the car into the car park of the Horse and Jockey. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and helped us arrange for a local garage to repair our car as we didn't know the area.
We had an excellent meal, very high standard at a great price. The pub is beautifully presented and very clean and tidy. The kids had a great time in the play area. The local ale was very good as well!
An unfortunate breakdown was made easier by a lovely afternoon.
I agree with the other reviews. What has happened to this place? I ate in here a year ago and had the Desi Korai and garlic chilli chicken and they were so delicious. Ordered the same dishes tonight for delivery and they were so bland. No flavour at all. The keema naan hardly had any keema in. Very disappointing. Won’t be going back.
Went for Sunday lunch today. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. All ingredients appeared to be home cooked and very good quality.
The restaurant was busy but the staff remained attentive .
I will certainly return

Really good beer and fantastic good pub grub . Best value for money eatery I've found for a long time drinks and food for 3 people at 30 quid cheap as cheaps good portions .
We visited The Nelson Inn yesterday afternoon around 4.30pm for an impromptu dinner with our 2.5 year old. Called up about an hour before and booked a table.
The staff were exceptionally lovely, especially the lady who served us (sorry didn’t catch her name). She was attentive and friendly. We ordered a mixed grill, rump steak and a children’s sausage and chips. All were really great! My son and I then shared a pudding which was also lovely.
Our main reason for the visit was that we could see there was a small play area. I’d say that the beer garden is the best part about the pub. Lots of tiered seating with a small climbing frame with slide at the top. There was also a huge field with two football nets so it was the perfect play for our son to run around while we waited for food.
We are currently on holiday here but will definitely be revisiting when we visit next time. Thank you!
