Lovely pub- not far from the canal- great for us boaters. Lovely staff, very polite and friendly. Food and drinks were great- burgers were delicious and portions were very generous. The ladies loos are lovely too so I have even included a pic as they were especially nice. Will definitely be back next time we back this way on the boat.

A group of 11 of us met here for a meal and every plate was clear, the food was amazing and the service the same. Perfect place for a get together. Fantastic selection for all tastes.

We stayed at a Hotel nearby and didn’t fancy the food choice so popped out to this pub for dinner with my daughter, so glad we did. Friendly staff, very attentive, very dog friendly. I had the mackerel salad and my daughter had chicken Caesar both were so fresh and tasty. We live in Chester and will definitely be going again. Thoroughly enjoyed everything.

I was painting the shed and, low and behold, I ran out of the cream paint. Needing the same brand to ensure colour consistency, I searched the internet. Screwfix had it. Great, I tried to order a tin. The nearest depot to us that had it in stock was Uttoxeter or Whitchurch. I consulted the wife. Whitchurch, she said. I'll buy you lunch at the Horse and Jockey. Great I thought. Hence, here we were again, a tin of paint in the boot and the fuel tank full up from the cheap garage across the road. We tried a burger this time. Absolutely delicious. We washed them down with a bottle of an unknown Italian wine recommended by the waiter which, too, was exceptional. No wonder we keep coming back. Any excuse!

We were looking for a place to eat for a group of us after a falconry experience at Shropshire Falconry Centre. After a couple of mediocre meals elsewhere we found the Horse and Jockey. What a revelation. Delicious food, excellent wine, friendly, efficient service, wonderful atmosphere and good value for money. The whole group loved their meals. We (my wife and I) enjoyed it so much that we drove for an hour each way to lunch here for our third time. Friendly, family run restaurant and Churchill tableware (for the pot turners reading this). We will be back. Oh! And cheap fuel in the garage opposite.

Just had a fabulous meal. Food fabulous amd service also fantastic. I wanted the pie but unfortunately there was none left so the manager organised for me to have exactly the type of meal I fancied - i wanted something comforting - mash gravy veg, you get the idea. Anyway the chef didnt dissapoint and i got the yummy lamb shank, buttery mash, fresh seasonal veg and gravy. Other main meals and childs were also fabulous. Thats all before we got the dessert - we had the bakewell tart! Husband is quite the connoisseur lol and he said it was the best he had had in years with actul proper homemade custard on the side. Tea, coffee was fab and other drinks available a good selection. We will be back.

Me aburrían.

Honestly the best pub meal I've had in years! The steak and Guinness pie was delicious and chips better than many chippies. How they do that with bargain prices baffles me. Highly recommend

Went for the first secret diner club evening that is run by Jess who owns the fab 'not today seitan' in liar liar..what can i say?.the food was on another level. Litrally the best vegan food in Oswestry and way surpasses anything else available in a vegan cafe in Oswestry. The food was beautifully presented, the flavours were amazing and the cocktails were beautiful too. Really hope the owner decides to run these evenings on a regular basis although once word gets around i imagine getting a table will be really difficult. Its great to see a vibrant young business do so well and honestly the co trading with Liar liar is such a brilliant idea. Two amazing businesses running side by side. I cannot recommend this highly enough, the best vegan resturant/cafe in town by far
