Love it here! Been a few times now and the staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable! Not sure what to have? Don’t worry - they will definitely help you!! Great vibe and welcome no matter if it’s a busy Saturday night or during one of their quieter times. Thank you in particular to the barman who makes a great sour cocktail!!

We loved it. Glorious in every respect, a wonderful place to go. Spoiled for choice? Ask the peerless May for her superb advice. If only there was a Libertine in Greenwich!

Disappointed. A DJ playing overly boring house music . A poor range of beers. It just seemed to be full of older coke heads trying to pick up younger lads and a few others having a cocktail.

Visited twice in one evening after previous visit some years ago. Welcoming staff and lovely environment together with extensive cocktail menu. We don’t visit Shrewsbury often but heartily recommend this venue!

We visited here on 23rd December and I have to say I shall be back. The cocktails are just divine and the atmosphere is friendly and chilled. We even decided to par take in their shot roulette (where you recieve 8 shots one of which is nasty) such a fun experience, fortunately my partner got the nasy one ha. I would like to thank our server Josie, who was very polite, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the drinks. She checked on us several times and was happy to answer any questions we had. What an amazing experience.

Love this place. The attention to detail when making a cocktail is outstanding! The martini expresso is the best you will find. Creamy, smooth with that hidden kick, just one turns into "shall we have another one? Hell, why not "

A fabulous cocktail find in Shrewsbury, this cocktail bar has a decadent feel with its cocktail only menu and it certainly delivers. Popped in for one cocktail on a Monday night but stayed for three theywere so good. Lovely to find somewhere so nice open on a Monday.

Went with my gf for late afternoon cocktails yesterday. We really enjoyed it, the feel and décor felt really light and welcoming. Had some amazing cocktails too and had some really nice suggestions to which we couldn't find a fault in. Would go again with no issues, lovely and tucked away so it's definitely a need to know it's their type bar.

This is a “must visit” bar in Shrewsbury. The cocktail menu is a work of designer genius in itself - very beautiful. The cocktails are lovely and the decor equally as good.

One of Shrewsbury's finest drinking institutions. Compact, bijou and cosy. Large range of cocktails (they even have a book detailing what's on offer).

Lovely surroundings. Staff absolutely fab! Being diabetic it’s hard to find a low sugar cocktail! However. I explained to Ovi I was diabetic and asked if he could ‘ come up with something with the least sugar possible’ And Wow !! Ovi delivered. Absolutely Fabulous cocktail was delivered to me. I can’t tell you what it contained apart from Gin. Ovi did tell me but I forgot lol So Ovi went above and beyond to make a cocktail that was just perfect. Thank you so much. We will be back when we visit Shrewsbury again. And how Fab to find someone who went out of his way to satisfy his customers. Thank you Ovi. Hope your employers recognise what an asset you are

Visited for a few drinks after eating out elsewhere, and to reminisce on old times of visiting (years back). It was nice to be able to not be “squished” next to someone or have my drinks knocked. Tried the “Hatters Tea Party” and it was so lovely

Loved the cocktails with unusual mixing and all with a bit of a nod to the theme. Decor was quirky and opulent. Great find with a complete mix of age groups too.

My second visit , this time with my husband . Raining so not able to sit outside this time. Such an amazing decor , really well done . The staff were so helpful when we ordered off the menu . We went back later on for whiskeys and again very helpful staff 100% recommend and cannot wait to return

Greta range of cocktails beautifully crafted with some unique and unusual ones to try! Our group loved the atmosphere and the choice available on the menus. Lots to choose from and the old classics on request too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Shrewsbury.

We have been in a number of places with 2 for 1 cocktails which were all ok but quite weak. Cocktails at Libertine were well crafted and different. Great atmosphere.

Nice attentive staff , nice decor inside , nice choices of cocktails 🍹 but at £8.50 a pop expensive for what you get. Even a double grouse whiskey was over £6 . We should of asked if there was a “happy hour”

The Place is absolutely stunning, the Bar staff are at the Top of their Game. The Boss ( Sammy ) nicest well dressed, well mannered gent you could wish to meet. Possibly the 2nd best place i have EVER been in where everything is just perfect. If this was in London it would be the best place in London without a doubt. I can’t wait to find an excuse to go back. Cocktails like I’ve never had before where they love what they do and know how to do it. Blessed to find this gaff !!!! I got lucky 🍀

Went for my birthday, had a lovely reception from all staff. Amazing cocktails and knowledgeable staff, gave us some free shots for my birthday. Can’t recommended enough.

We arrived in Shrewsbury on a wet day with our greyhound Gracie and asked if we could take her in. We were greeted by a lovely young man who was happy to allow us in. The service we received was excellent, he was helpful, friendly and professional and guided us to the tourist attractions which he thought we might like. He also gave our dog a bowl of water and a biscuit. This is a trendy, comfy place where you can sit and not feel rushed with friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble.

When we first arrived here, we sat out front at the only available table. To avoid a possible small monsoon, we asked if we could move indoors. A wonderful waiter wrangled us a table for an hour, despite the fact they were fully booked. The staff continued to be extremely attentive and friendly, even though we posed a potential complication. Cocktails were amazing, vibes were good, and we were super-impressed with the service. Definitely plan to come back, with a booking this time :)

Me and 2 friends dropped in on Saturday early evening and were told that there weren't any tables available inside due to bookings, so we sat outside, it was chilly and threatening to rain but this was our first real chance to explore Shrewsbury since moving. We ordered a couple of the 'signature' cocktails and weren't disappointed. Thankfully, after a couple of minutes one of the bar staff came over and said that a space had opened up inside for an hour or so, so we jumped on it.More lovely cocktails followed at what we considered to be a reasonable price for such tasty drinks.Inside was following social distancing rules quite clearly but I can't wait to see what this place is like on a nice busy Saturday where you could stand at the bar and mingle with people.

We had a very enjoyable evening tonight drinking cocktails in Libertines. We were served by a very pleasant young man called Liam who was very knowledgeable about the drinks menu and he was able to give us advice on which cocktails to choose.Cannot praise Liam enough for the excellent service and the popcorn

Really disappointed, been to this place a few years ago and always enjoyed it but went last night for some cocktails with my mom and was left disappointed, drank our drinks as quick as possible just to leave. My mom had a Singapore sling which tasted like watered down pineapple juice and I had a red wine which tasted cheap and nasty. Guys behind the bar ignored my mom but wanted to serve the younger girls who arrived way after we did, I understand it can get confusing but this was just blatant.

Popped in on Sunday afternoon as had a craving for a decent bloody Mary. I really like it here, its quirky without feeling forced and the staff really do know what they are doing. I like the fact that it is small and dark and intimate - you do need to pick the right time to go, its not so pleasant when its rammed with people of a weekend evening. I dont feel like its designed to be hectic in there. Lots of great classics on the menu -Death in the Afternoon has to be my favourite cocktail ever and they do a good one here. Good Cassanova (pornstar) and a great Dirty martini. Like the fact that they check exactly how you like your drink. Its not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Having been for dinner fairly early, decided to visit a few watering holes before going home, this was our last stop.So quiet, not a soul in the place, but we made up for that. Sitting in an alcove at the back of the place, we ordered a variety of cocktails and drinks, enjoyed them so much we ordered a second round and I think would have probably had another had it not then been closing time.Well made, beautifully presented and friendly, pleasant staff.Going back again for second go today.They have “happy hour” from 3pm to 7pm. Mmm mmm

Visited with my wife on a spur of the moment. We enjoyed the amazing strong cocktails my favourite was a mojito and they absolutely have it down to a tee, my wifes new favourite is a passionfruit martini

Had drinks here last Thursday evening and it was a very interesting little place, dark and cosy and very relaxing, I actually wanted to sleep on the comfortable sofa at the front :-). Well worth a visit.

I was told to go here by a friend for drinks and I’m glad I did.Came in with my wife after a meal at The Loopy Shrew and was really impressed with this place.It’s just off the Main Street going up the hill but worth walking to. We managed to get a seat over looking the bar and had 2 cocktails in here.The drinks were really nice, the staff were great and the atmosphere was good. It got very busy about 10pm.Well worth a visit if you are on a night out in Shrewsbury.

Fantastic place. The style and decoration are absolutely great. Even the Menus and Cartes are pieces of arts. We would definitely go again, as the prices are reasonable and the coffees and hot chocolates we took were lovely.

I visited this place for the first time yesterday and boy did I love it. Such a crazy good atmosphere. The bartenders were super nice and professional. The cocktails we tried were surprisingly good, the best I've had in a really long time. The overall decor is really fitting and cosy. I will definitely return for a second visit sometime very soon.

Visited yesterday, never again! Was told to go and sit down by a member of staff when we approached the bar then sat for over 20 minutes waiting for someone to take our order. No one bothered in the end so we walked out. Staff were just hovering by the bar and there were not many people sat down so hardly busy. Also the chairs outside were filthy, all in all a bad experience, there are better places to go for a drink in Shrewsbury, this bar is over rated and not worth the visit.

My husband and I love this place, great selection of drinks, service and vibe. We’ll always return. Sometimes quite full, but you can see why!

What a dream ! The handsome young lad who owns the place stood with us in the rain as we were waiting for our taxi having a cigarette covering us with a big umbrella and he was soaking ! The service is unbelievable comfortable and relaxing atmosphere nicely decorated drinks are cheap and are tasty ! Would highly recommend to anyone suggesting visiting frankwell for drinks ! Will be back !

very very very rude staff we was totally ignored at the bar for at least 10 minutes and when we questioned what was going on we was met with shrugs of shoulders all around, when they found out we wanted to buy expensive champagne we then became a priority, disgusting attitude

Always got a great atmosphere and there is a very large choice of cocktails. Great for big or small parties. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited 30/11/18. Warmly welcomed by bar staff - no seats so stood at the bar with a couple of excellently produced drinks. We were both saying how amazed we were at efficiency of bar staff making all these drinks in a timely manner whilst being polite and friendly until a waitress, quite abruptly, asked us to move away from the bar. It couldn't have been more rude if she tried and I felt awful for my partner who I'd asked to meet me at Libertines before a meal out in Shrewsbury. The situation could have been handled so much better and needless to say we drank up and went next door. Such a shame as this place has buckets of potential - but this review must not take away the amazing bar staff/cocktail servers who are a credit to the team! Will visit again and hopefully have a better experience.

Loads of cocktails although they ran out of the cherry liqueur although my taste buds were gunned out by then so I didn't overly notice.

Excellent cocktails created from very good class alcohol. If you want cheep watery one go to pub ;) You know for what you paying. Staff very friendly with experiance and always with smile. Strong coffee and amazing milkshakes. Highly recommended.

We popped in here for a coffee, a nice stop off for our day in Shrewsbury. Never been before but a lovely town.... except for this establishment!!

I was sat next to the woman who had a replacement coffee, because the first coffee was cold and witnessed the cup with “I’m a T**t” written on it - utterly appalling what is going on when a bar has this on their cups??? NOT A GOOD IDEA a people !

This is one of our favourite bars in town! If you like a cocktail then definitely pay it a visit! If there's not something on the menu you fancy staff will make you something which I think is the sign of a good cocktail bar!

I went to the Cardiff branch that’s just opened up. I can honestly say one of the best lattes I’ve ever had. And I’m a barista! The bartender Tally was really friendly. And even understood I’m awkward too. Great atmosphere. Very friendly without being uncomfortable. Tally was really helpful with anything I asked too! Especially directions for Cardiff and events ongoing over the next few weeks.

I the cocktails here were fine. The atmosphere here was a little bit lacking. The place was a little small and the music was a little too loud. Im also not too sure about the selection of music. Service was quick and the staff were really polite.

We went in and the bar area is very small and seemed very overcrowded and understaffed.

Spent a few pleasant hours here yesterday with my wife and friends enjoying the various cocktails which were delicious, only down side is the beers available are limited so if it’s a pint your after it’s not for you👍🏼

We stopped for cocktails before a night out at The Libertine cocktail bar and it's such a wonderful quirky place. The staff are welcoming and lovely and polite, the cocktails were tasty and strong and the building was so unique and had such a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend for friends, couples and pre-night out drinks!
