Are here many times. Great food & lots of it. Friendly team & great service. Tried to rebook for a couple of days ago, to be told fully booked until current owners retire today (29/01). Gutted. Hope this place is taken over by new management who keep it going with the current team, minus the retirees. Just wanted to say thank you to all for some really great evenings. So sad... but enjoy your well earned retirement. Thank you!

We visited the grove for Mother’s Day, 6 adults, 1 child. 3 x roast chicken, 2 x 8oz fillet steak, 1 children’s chicken nuggets +chips. My meal (steak) came out and looked great, although my stone wasn’t hot enough to cook my steak, onions and mushrooms, my steak although looked great, tasted horrible. £23 to only be satisfied with the chips! My wife also couldn’t eat the chicken and neither could my father Inlaw, only eating less that half there meals. I wouldn’t go back if I’d not Eaton for a month and was offered a free meal!

We happen to drop in on the way past, we ordered Sunday roast with cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. It was excellent value, piping hot and a fantastic atmosphere with open fires!

Great little pub with lots going for it, very fairly priced on drinks. The future is bright for this venue. Keep your eyes and ears open. Once they get the kitchen facility up and running, it's gonna be a great place to eat too.

We have dined at this pub several times and from the day it opened and never have we ever been treated the way were today. When asking about our food after several people who had ordered after ourselves had received there’s we would be told it would be ready in 5 minutes (we ordered our food 30 mins before). Another 15 mins later we asked again to then be rudely spoken to by a member of staff. At this point we spoke to management as we weren’t prepared to wait any longer (we can assume it’s management) to be told its takes 30 minute to cook one of our dishes (didn’t explain why we had been waiting 45 mins). They were all very rude with no word of an apology and very sarcastic have a nice day as well left!

New menu to check out in a place I already love! The seabass with asparagus is an absolute joy and a big winner! Anything fish related is always divine, chef Andy delivers every time. Just beautiful

Visited yesterday. Was given a warm welcome, and great service from to start to finish. Food was absolutely amazing, quality and quanity (had to have doggy boxes) well worth the pennies. Highly recommend and we will definitely be returning 🙂

Paramos aquí para un aperitivo, buen menú, los bocadillos estaban bien llenos y fresca, con una variedad de pan, un montón de asientos pero elegimos sentarnos afuera, ya que las tiendas estaban muy antiguo e interesante.

We came for my brother's belated Birthday meal and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The staff were very helpful, efficient, friendly and the food was lovely! I had a Carvery and the Gammon, veg and mash was lovely! 😀 The dessert, a Berry Crumble with Custard was also delicious!! 😀 We'll definitely consider visiting again in the future!! I would like to thank the staff very much for such a wonderful service! If you haven't visited this place yet, I definitely recommend you do!! 😀

The chef takes good pride in what is served up and the food is locally sourced. The menu has enough I would think for most peoples taste buds but I can recommend the Beef Stack and the Risotto dishes. The evening we went it was not very busy (mid week) so the chef came out and asked how we felt about the food - he really was genuine on receiving feedback.

Visited with friends for mid week lunch. Comprehensive menu, nice small plates a bit short on vegetarian options Drinks orders taken and filled quickly, 40 minutes for service of food. All our options were tasty, nicely presented and of a good size. Service friendly and professional. Lost a star because 17 diners on 6 tabl3s were all crammed into a very small area - very noisy conversation almost impossible. The rest of the large restaurant was completely empty so this was not necessary

Genuinely don’t understand the negative comments about this lovely establishment. My daughter and I travel from Shrewsbury regularly for their superb carvery… never ever had a disappointing visit. The staff are very welcoming and helpful… I must mention NATHAN the carver in Particular, he is always very helpful and greets everyone with a huge smile and lovely humour there is absolutely no doubt that he is a huge asset to Toby Carvery. Thank you again Apley team for another delicious lunch.

Stopped by for a coffee whilst walking in the area. Lovely garden seating area. The coffee was average but it is a great place to stop at and enjoy the scenery. They have a few snacks and also ice cream. I was told it has been taken over by a charity helping ex-convicts so it deserves some patronage if you are passing.

Was wary of getting food from these type of establishments Papa John's Lansdowne Bournemouth noticed the guy making pizza also operating till what would happen if cash sale handling dirty money then making your pizza no gloves no hand washing before how can this be allowed pizza wasn't even fully baked in my view seems I was right about these places
