We had breakfast here on both days of our stay in Church Stretton. Very efficient, friendly service. Lovely food with clearly well sourced ingredients. Excellent!

Fish and chips with a difference… a prime piece of haddock. The crispest batter… the chips are amazing… and oh those crushed peas. Shame it’s only on a Thursday. Wonderful. Thanks to Chef Blaine and th inimitable Michelle front of house.

We stopped for lunch after an energetic walk. The bakery serves light lunches and the most amazing bread. The charming young lady who served us was a credit to her community: friendly and welcoming. Beautifully crafted furniture and the premises were spotless. The young ladies were singing while they were working, so lovely to hear. We shall return.

Fab coffee, tea and cake, thought it was closed at first and could do with a sign at the bottom of the road. Fab hidden gem, enjoyed the chucks visiting and the black and white cat proudly displaying his/her latest kill? Great place to sit out and enjoy the rare sunshine and tranquility of the nearby church.

My partner and I drive 45 miles to buy our lunch at Saxtons. YES their food IS really that good !!! This is a fabulous delicatessen and WOW!! Tom and his partner and staff really know what they're doing with food. Everything is delicious. I defy anyone to find a better sandwich anywhere in the UK. Roger Hinde, Nantwich

We've just had a take away meal from this restaurant and wanted to leave a review for everyone to see. It was DELICIOUS... we all enjoyed it. The food was piping hot when we picked it up, and it was top quality food. The restaurant itself is spotless and the people who are in there working are so lovely. We visited on February 2nd 2025 as an early birthday meal. We were greeted as we entered and got drinks to take through to our table. The service was very organised and polite. The food itself was incredible! Honestly blown away and so glad we took the 30 minute car journey from Shrewsbury to visit. It did not disappoint and we will 100% be back with our dogs since it’s dog friendly. We forgot to ask for their music playlist as it was playing music by artists such as Bing Crosby. Rosemary Connnelly and Nat King Cole. That kinda vibe and it was just perfect. We had the 8oz Welsh rump steak, with chips and the blue cheese sauce and a double steak burger with fries. For starters I had the chicken liver pate and the buffalo hot wings. Very good portion sizes too!

Great place to study and staff are super nice, but needs to be warmer - cold makes me leave even though I don't want to and I'm keeping all my layers on

My partner and I, along with 2 other couples, visited this pub after walking carding Mill Valley. We were shown to our table after only a 5 min wait on a busy Sunday and provided with the Sunday lunch menu. There were multiple things out of stock, which wasn't really much of an issue as there were lots of alternatives to choose from (even for our veggies in the group). The waiting staff were friendly, helpful, and obviously apologetic about the missing menu items. The food came quickly and was well portioned among the sharing items for the Sunday lunches . There was also live music within the venue at the time if visiting, which was a very nice surprise! The pricing was also mid range as we all spent about 15-20 pounds per person. Would 100% come again to try their weekday menu when we are back in the area walking/hiking the valley.

John is very friendly and have used his Cafe for years now, normally when going on bike ride or on way back from one.His full English is great when going on a long bike ride.Plus my wife Lynn loves his fried potato chips and won't go anywhere else when we're in the area excellent pit stop.

Found this cafe while visiting an open garden in the area. Pleasant welcome . Ordered a jacket potato with cheese, a sandwich and two hot drinks. The potato was hot and the cheese melted. I've had many a potato that is warm at other establishments so this was a pleasant surprise. We also had an ice cream each. We will be back next time we are in the area
