Excellent food and good value for money. The service was very friendly and professional. Food and drinks arrived promptly. Will try and eat there again.

Its a long way from home, but was worth the trip. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food was great.

Fantastic steaks at good prices. I'd recommend choosing from the butchers counter and picking your steak and the thickness plus your preferred cooking... My 320g ribeye was probably the best I've ever had. Will definitely be returning.

We had a truly delectable meal at this pub after a long dog walk. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the steak lived up to the reviews and the prices were very reasonable. Couldn’t recommend this pub more.

Booked a family meal here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Just the three of us. In a nut shell: staff are attentive, friendly and very professional. Food was absolutely AMAZING. Excellent value for money considering the quality of the food. We had Steak and lamb dishes. Wished it was our local as we would be there all the time but we were in this area for a weekend break. Will absolutely be back if we get the opportunity to be in the area again. We can't recommend enough.

This place is literally just off the main road. Warm welcome on entering the building. Decor lovely. Good variety of drinks. Food absolutely outstanding. We had gammon with fresh pineapple, egg, mushrooms and chunky chips plus burger which had bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce and onion rings and on the side homemade coleslaw and skin on fries. Good quality meat! Best burger I've had in years. We enjoyed our meal that we simply had to try a desert but feeling full we shared the cheesecake......WOW! It was delicious! Please visit and you won't be disappointed!

Was camping nearby; decided to pop in for a couple of beers & food. The food and service were both mega. Highly recommend their steaks. 🤌 Surf & Turf for £27 - what more do you need.

We are regular diners at lunchtimes and our last visit was just as good as the first. Food is beautifully cooked and very plentiful, so much so, that we sometimes ask for containers to take food home! Chicken Parmesan and the pork chop dinners were lovely. I have never seen such a huge chop though. Friendly staff.

My wife and I popped in on our way home to Shrewsbury after visiting Ludlow. We both had the Steak & Stilton Pie:- STEAK & STILTON PIE
Rich beef gravy, chunky chips & choice of peas £15.95 If this not an award winning pie in My opinion it should be! The pie was packed full of quality tender steak and had a subtle taste of stilton which was not over powering this was encased in a shortcrust pastry accompanied with a lovely rich beef gravy which complemented the dish superbly. The chutney chips were chunky, crunchy and fluffy inside and all served piping hot! My wife and I were both delighted with our choice and will return to try other delights on the menu if we can resist ordering the Steak & Stilton pie again! We were told by the waiter the pies were made by the chef that morning which is so nice to hear. Well done The Station Inn you exceeded our expectations!

2 of us out of a party of 11 ordered the steak. And as We have all been to the station before we were expecting the same quality and service as previous visits. Unfortunately this particular evening, once into our meals not once did the staff ask if our food was to our satisfaction. Even at the end of the meal ? So I had to mention to the girl clearing the plates that we both found our steak tuff. I would certainly of mentioned this earlier if asked but as I said , waitress didn’t bother. . Then all she said was “I’ll tell the chef” And even then we had no feedback. Very unprofessional staff. It will be the last time we spend good money there.

My family went for a meal last Sunday 30th June and it was absolutely fantastic - from the great welcome to the farewell

Only had one drink, but the place was squeaky clean as well as looking fresh. The staff member was charming and courteous, the little beer garden over the road near the level crossing was tidy and maintained to a good standard. Would go again, nice all over.

What a find!!!! We were travelling back from our holiday in North Wales and needed to stop for food.. and we were so glad we stumbled across The Station Inn. We were able to book a table and arrived at 4pm. The service and welcome we received was outstanding, but the food OMG the food.. it was out of this world! Four of us chose the Chicken, Ham, Leek and Cheese Pie and I can honestly say it was the best pie we had ever tasted.. The pastry was to die for.. Just what we needed to set us up for the rest of our journey home! So of course we had to have desserts and they certainly didn't disappoint either!! We left very very happy, Great Service, Very Friendly Staff, Great atmosphere, great prices. and to top it off my husband got to see the trains at the level crossing!! Thank you The Station Inn 😊😊😊

What a great place to stop for a meal. On passing me and my wife with the inlaws decided to stop for dinner. on entering the establishment we was greeted like a local with a nice welcome.we was shown to our table in a well designed room.were there friendly staff was there to take our orders.with a great choice of food to sute most people.witch arrive soon after we ordered and was well cooked and well presented all at a price you can afford Well done all simple a great place to come and eat

Beautiful place to eat and drink. Just off the A49 so handy location for travelling north or south. From the moment you walk in, it's chilled, staff are great and decor is on point - stopped for lunch here as a party of 3 and we each really enjoyed the food. Absolutely will be back. Great place!

After a Long walk around Cardingmill valley we looked for The best Local eatery for some Good food! We received absolutely outstanding, beautifully tasting, Great food!! Initially we were attracted to the current online menu but upon arrival their 2course/3 course menu sounded spot on.( Check there facebook for the set menu of fhe day) Very good service, Great building & atmosphere & the food was tasty & faultless!! Will 100% be returning in the future👍👍

Visited here after 12 years. Still very good. Had lunch - steak pie excellent as was chicken pie, steak and chicken burger. 12 years ago had a family gathering to celebrate a 70th. birthday. Family from Yorkshire, Lancashire, South Wales and Berlin.

Beautifully refurbished gastro pub… ample parking and just a few seconds off the A49… Food is exceptional… yet to experience the Friday night butchers night but reliably told it’s phenomenal… amazing steaks 🥩

Arrived without booking at 6pm and we we shown to a table for 2. I had a hunter's chicken burger and chips and my friend had Master Butcher's Grill. No complaints at all both lovely cooked and presented. Both very filling, we had no room for dessert 😋

This was a great little find when we were looking for a break from the road and a bite to eat. Cute, comfortable, and clean, the menu is diverse, and the food was very good. Chicken, Leek & Cheddar Pie was delicious! The service is outstanding and friendly. Great, albeit odd, selection of music played throughout. Elvis, to Fleetwood Mac, to Perry Como... quirky and fun. Highly recommend!

Excellent steak, was able to select the exact weight and cut which was a great experience. Portion sizes were good and all round had a great time.

Visited a little while ago whilst staying at mountain edge resort next door. Came as a couple and we were sat at the high group table with a fire in the middle. We were the only ones at the table which was lovely and the atmosphere from the fire was cosy and romantic. I had surf and turf and my partner also had a steak. They were tender and cooked to perfection. The sides and sauces were delicious. This place is amazing. Prices are reasonable. The pinot grigio wine was smooth. We would come and stay again just to eat here.

My lovely partner and I stop here when passing through. If you like steak then this place is a pretty good bet. Attentive and helpful staff. Good pricing. Nice friendly atmosphere. Book ahead for weekends. I think that rather sums it up. We will go again no doubtvwhen we pass by. Thanks

Great food, a warm welcome and the perfect location for exploring the Shropshire Hills. Customers motorhomes can stay overnight in the carpark Mondays- Thursdays. We will be back!

We are staying in one of the Pods and decided to eat here as read the reviews and saw some of the photos of the food...it was absolutely first class and worth every penny. If we lived locally we would definitely be a regular customer 👍

Visited Mother's day again. Lucky to get a table as left booking bit late but managed to get a cancellation last minute. Food excellent as usual and Ben chef on carvery duty. Johnathan our server very helpful and extremely friendly with smiles. All staff in fact excellent and lady on bar brilliant. Thanks see you soon I hope.

Ate here back in September 23. No complaints with the resort itself, and service and drinks. However food I would NOT recommend as I had a bad case of food poisoning off a meat based meal and this has put me off ever returning for food, as it would for most. Complained via open table recieved NOTHING back.

outstanding! We were greeted by Mandy behind the bar who gave a real welcome, excellent customer service. We ordered the mixed grill- outstanding value for money the meat is cooked perfectly and high quality. waitress service was good and we were asked if we were ok twice.

Best roast we've had in a long time. Excellent and generous selection from the carvery. Desserts delicious. Just let down a tad by the friendly but annoyingly slow service.

Food was good, the pub is lovely, the service was pretty poor. Staff didn’t seem to want to be there, and everything took ages despite being only a group of three (and there were only two other people in the entire pub) who were eating. It took them about 5 minutes to seat us, 15 minutes to take our order, the food came out with different items missing from each of the meals, they didn’t clear our plates for almost 25 minutes after we finished eating, and we asked for the bill they just didn’t bring it so we had to go up to the bar to pay. Pretty disappointed, service is easy to get right!

Great food, me and a friend came, had the most beautiful meal, I returned with my husband a few weeks later as I had enjoyed it so much! The beef rib starter was incredible melted in my mouth. I had a surf and turf which was beautiful and my husband a mixed grill which was massive, he really enjoyed. We will be back.

An excellent meal as ever. We love coming here but the service was a bit slow on this occasion....probably as it was after the busy new year period. We'll be back though nonetheless as it's a Shropshire favourite of ours.

If someone mentions carvery I’m normally out as it’s usually a good way to ruin a roast, however I’m so pleased I didn’t swerve it, as it was delicious! There were 14 of us on a Sunday, service was friendly and swift, food was great, well cooked, hot and tasty. Next time I would mention vegetarians when we arrive, they did a Moussaka for the veggie option which was really nice. We will definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

We visited on a very busy evening for the pub however the service was still efficient. The portion sizes were generous and we left feeling very full!

On arrival, the pub looked cute and cosy - open early for breakfast, decent reviews it seems & a place to get out of the snow! After sitting down for a few minutes we ordered breakfast & coffee, all seemed fine until we heard ‘local regulars’ having a xenophobic, conversation with the waitress about refugees. This conversation took place as the waitress was behind the bar and the couple sat across from her at their table, and with no music playing (no atmosphere at all actually) and no one else in the pub it was hard to hear anything else! Myself & my partner felt very awkward, angry and extremely uncomfortable - it was just loud enough to hear and as the only other people in there we couldn’t decide if this was the norm in this place, or if this was just a few ‘bad apples’ but they obviously didn’t seem to care that we could openly hear their conversation discussing refugees as if they were item? (which makes me think it’s the norm here) Extremely harmful, especially given the tragic history of this place (a lynching had taken place only 3 years ago) & the continuous shocking racism that comes from their local MP Philip Dune. And this isn’t a personal ‘woke’ agenda as the business owner tried to suggest when we complained, (‘leave my agenda at the door’ we were told in the only google review the venue have seemed to respond too, quite worrying they are not trying to reassure us we had misheard but instead were very defensive and took no accountability) this is just the truth of this town & information you could easily find on google when reviewing where to visit, which made this whole experience even more uncomfortable. Even if they were having a completely innocent conversation, why do they feel the need to do this over the bar to the customers and not have their own personal conversation at the table which we did not have to overhear? Are the staff too lazy to walk around to the table? It most certainly was not busy so there was no excuse for this whole situation to take place. It was our first time in this town and the whole thing was just really uncomfortable. You’d think the town & a local business especially, would be doing all they can to separate themselves from such things. It’s a shame the energy and atmosphere doesn’t match the beautiful surroundings. I’d recommend avoiding, awkward xenophobic conversation aside - the Veggie breakfast was very bland and basic, sausages had no flavour other than the sauce I put on them and my partners poached eggs were undercooked & soggy

Love the steaks cooked to perfection

Steak was cooked to perfection, pork Chop needed Fat crisping up, but otherwise absolutely delicious. Mushroom sauce was Devine. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Our arrival was positive as we were warmly greeted by Paige. The restaurant and layout were charming and relaxed. Great lunch menu explained to us throughly. Food was very good quantity and reasonably priced.

Visited here as we had past on a previous night on our way to our holiday cottage. What a great find !!! stopping for lunch we were were greeted by a lovely staff member & a very tempting menu. My wife opted for the pork chop & me the sausage & mash and both were excellent !. Both dishes were very flavorsome and generous portions !. Its a shame we live so far away as its definitely worth another visit and hopefully we will be back one day. Set next to a trainline its a bright & airy restaurant with comfy seating & a pleasant feel. If your in the area you need to make sure your hungry & visit .

Booked the station Inn after reading the reviews. We called for lunch on our way to monmouth and have to say it was lovely. Would definitely go again if we are heading that way. Stay were lovely and food gorgeous. No complaints from 4 of us

Starters delicious, chicken wings very generous portion. Caesar salad was drowned in dressing with over cooked chicken, and cheesy chips had been left in the oven too long and were overcooked and dry.

A very nice pub, the food was excellent and reasonable priced.

The best steak I've had in the UK and i would go as far as to say anywhere else I've been around the world but don't take my word try it for yourself the staff are 1st class You choose your own steak and have it cooked the way you like it, and it's cooked to perfection trust me .....

Lovely place Food was amazing The Hunters Chicken Burger was great My wife has a stake which was equally delicious. Service was good Hard to say about atmosphere, it was relatively quiet when we were there but felt like a nice place. Highly recommend for food.

We had heard from friends that this place was good for a meal. We went on a Friday night when steaks are cut and cooked just as you like it. All five of us were very satisfied and thought that the prices were reasonable. we shall certainly be dining here again even though we live 50min away

Our second visit to this restaurant. We loved it on last year's holiday so made special effort to return and it did not disappoint. The pork belly bites are incredible, the steak was perfect, and we enjoyed ice cream for dessert. Despite being very busy, the two servers were great and we wanted for nothing.
