Fantastic meal as always. Be careful as you pull out of the car park.

We had been staying locally and had been checking various restaurants in the area to dine at courtesy of Google maps and were blown away by the ambience at this restaurant. We hadn’t booked, but were made most welcome by the barmaid, who showed us to a table for 4. As you enter at the rear you are met with the phrase “gourmet restaurant” and I can wholeheartedly confirm this venue delivers a 5 star performance. All 4 of us were blown away by the quality of the food, the excellent service and the portion size. I opted for pork 4 ways with mash, and can thoroughly recommend this dish. My wife had the fish pie and she enthused it was the best ever. Pity we don’t stay nearer as it deserves further visit.

Camping locally for a couple of nights- came here for dinner. It didn’t disappoint! Food was absolutely amazing. We had the duck and pork fillet, utterly delicious. Dog friendly, beautiful decor and great atmosphere: topped off with complimentary Limoncellos! What’s not to like. A must visit…

Dog friendly - incredible sauce on tap (HPA). If you want to go home with a full belly this is the place to go to. Lots of choice to order from and the food was amazing. Really warming and attentive staff. We will be back soon!

Absolutely outstanding venue - tastefully decorated spotlessly clean The food was outstanding quality and excellent value for money £16,50 for roast beef -you don’t get that many places of this quality and the two plates were loaded my husband couldn’t even finish his burger meal there was so much on the plate - service spot on from really nice staff Ignore no dogs sign outside we asked and could take ours in with us - they are very dog friendly bringing him water Highly recommended venue

Reviewed before but not for a while and this place deserves more excellent reviews to outweigh the Curious and the Kevin reviews. I've been here a few times since my last review and friends and family in the area have also visited with glowing sentiments. Always a friendly welcome and always attentive but not fussy service. There's a wide choice on the menu and I've always been more than happy with my own choice. Must mention the Butty Bach, definitely in my top five ales. Lovely ambience, I shall hopefully return soon.

My wife and I had a meal here, with a few drinks, while staying near by over Easter. Food was delicious and the staff very attentive. Also, very dog friendly. Would definitely recommend 😎👍

Although the pub was busy, the service for our party was still excellent. Food choices were varied and all came out of the kitchen on time, well presented & tasted good. Exceptional attention to detail by serving staff. Definitely return for another meal & visit. Thank you to the team. Outstanding.

Spacious dining, with non-intrusive service. I enjoyed the brisket very much. Altogether a very good experience.

Had a family celebration for our daughters birthday. Couldn’t have done more for us. Thoughtfully put on table to the side so more of a private get together. Staff attentive and welcoming. Meals were delicious. Gluten free accommodated for. Will definitely be going back.

Unimaginative, disappointing and expensive food coupled with poor service left us disappointed and rather upset. For the cost of this meal we could have enjoyed some proper fine dining, prepared by a chef, not a pub cook, and received attentive service. Every course I could have prepared better at home. My goats cheese was simply a chunk of cheese placed on top of a few leaves - where’s the chef’s creativity it that? My wife and I were massively disappointed in our main course, neither of which had anything more that could have been found in many pubs for half the price. Just to add one final disappointment, the wine was poor and, once again, expensive.

Parking at the back. Super warm welcome, good and beer fantastic. Really worth popping in and having a super home cooked meal.

Walked to this pub for lunch, but had to sit outside as we had a dog. Just had a coffee and went elsewhere.

Called here unexpectedly as we were staying nearby. What a beautiful place. Staff were very welcoming and the food was amazing. Can highly recommend the Crispy Thai beef salad and the Pork Fourways. Delicious.

We came here for my husbands 30th and wow. My husband has recently been diagnosed with celiac disease and cannot eat anything with gluten in. This menu is amazing for people like him. They cater all dishes around his needs, anything he chose he could have it as gluten free even his favourite deserts. There was 12 of us and there wasn’t a huge wait and the food was amazing. Beautiful pub, beautiful food and amazing staff. Thanks all for making my husband 30th enjoyable.

Absolutely SUPERB! We are there on Friday night. I had the best lamb shank I’ve ever eaten! Sandra had salmon. Generous portions of exceptionally delicious food. I can’t wait to go back. Outstandingly good food in an area known for good food. *****

What can I say - if I could give 10 stars then I would I can’t fault anything about the food or the service, both were equally impressive. The most important thing is the staff knew what they were talking about and no problem is too much for them . Keep up the good effort

Eleven ladies of a certain age turned up for lunch and the fabulous staff were unfased and welcomed us with open arms and excellent customer care and service. 🤗

This afternoon at the bar a belligerent, aggressive and bullish member of staff shouted at me "I don't give a f**k what you think". Why? Because I told him the bread pudding and the waffle were chewy and stodgy and not worth £7 each. I don't know and don't actually care who he was but I wonder who or what he thinks he is. Certainly not a good business man. If he's the manager then he should be ashamed of himself and if someone else is the manager then they should get rid of him - he's intimidating and a liability. But perhaps nobody else will give a f**k what I think! What a sad world it is sometimes.

Seven of us had a fantastic meal again at the horseshoes every time we go good quality freshly cooked food. Never have we had a poor meal always a very high standard, friendly staff nothing is to much trouble, ambience is perfect nice pleasant atmosphere would highly recommend wide variety of food. Perfect outside sitting and dining area for those who prefer alfresco, and interior to a high standard with tables to accommodate all size of groups or for those who are having a couples night out.

It's been years since we last went and the place looks lovely, really nice food (had the lamb shank) really nice staff. Will definitely be going back.

Sunday lunch was exceptional. We were visiting the area and made a great choice. Will certainly revisit.

Had a fantastic meal tonight for our 33rd Wedding anniversary. Food & service was great. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere..this is our go to place from now on.

Stopped off at the horsehoes for a quick bite on our way home. we had- 1 x pint of larger 1/2 pint of larger 2 x bacon rolls with cheese (charge you more if its called brioche) 1 x small bowl of chips cost = £30.45 it did not dawn on me until i got home how expensive the snack had been. Never again.

Average pub, adequate food but nothing out of the ordinary. Can only assume that other places in the area are terrible for this to be 5 stars. 3 is realistic. Plain garden, patio with plastic furniture and an interior with generic decor. Bar selection is slim to middling.

Just stopped for a lunch. I was surprised how posh and elegant looking inside. The service was amazing, the food delicious and the cleanest restaurant so far in the Uk! Well done guys!

A wonderful gem. Rather non descript from the road ( as it is a listed property ) but with a lovely garden and terrace. The interior is warm and welcoming. One of the loveliest decorated pubs I have visited. Leather sofas. Light filled areas. Clean and friendly. Dog friendly too. We had brisket of beef and chicken milanese for a late lunch. Absolutely delicious. Great value. Super service. So glad we stopped by.

Stopped for light lunch, Mum had garlic mushrooms on bread with small salad and I had a fish cake topped with an egg with a sauce both enjoyed. Service was good and restaurant spacious and nicely adorned.

Unfortunately had to eat here a 2nd time due to a work meal out. First time was 5 years ago so was hoping things had improved. My first review on here had an untruthful and aggressive response from the manager/owner - will wait to see if a similar response is received. Very over priced for basic food served. Poor service.

Delightful pub which doubles up as a small hotel with a comfy looking lounge. Very busy before Christmas when we visited friends in Shropshire. Staple pub restaurant food. Good fish pie and my fish & chips was very good...fish very fresh and well cooked.

We called in having been drawn in by the sign saying gourmet dining ,ordered burger and chips ,what a mistake to make ,the whole meal was bland ,dry and tasteless ,the only thing gourmet was the bill ,waitress came and asked how the meal was and I replied not very good and all she could say was thanks .never again

Went for Sunday lunch, food was gorgeous, meat very tasty and tender, beer and wine lovely and staff were very efficient and friendly. We'd indulged rather so expected a fairly large bill, but was actually very reasonable.

Lovely surroundings, even though it's right by the A49-no road noise could be heard. Menu comprehensive, and although the portions appeared a little on the small size, they were just enough. Service good, and value for money.

Three of us went for dinner last night and all of us were very pleasantly surprised at the high standard of the food. All the main courses (the medallions of pork and the two home made pies) were perfectly cooked and seasoned with sufficient side dishes to keep us more than happy.Similarly, the two desserts of amaretto cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding were well constructed and presented.Service was pleasant and efficient and the wine list is more than adequate with a sufficient number of wines by the glass.It seems a shame that more people don't patronize this establishment, as it is most definitely worth a visit. Certainly, we will be returning!

The eating here we found to be excellent, good enough in fact to return several times. Easy to find being on the main road and a good car park to boot. Well worth a visit.

We had a great dinner at this restaurant with our parents. Friendly manager and hostess. The service was prompt and the restaurant area is very nice and very clean.

Not the first visit, but the last following this experience. The ambience in the restaurant was awful with flies buzzing the food. Good job no-one ordered soup or there would have been a very old joke to enliven the meal. The food was adequate at best. but had to ask for sauces and extra vegetables. The pudding course was the highlight and seemed to be genuinely homemade as claimed on the menu. The starters were poor in comparison and limited in choice from the set menu. There were several cask beers available from the bar and these were OK. Had to ask for the wine list and this was limited in type and choice with noticeable mark-up on prices. At £30 a head it was poor value.Advice is to avoid the restaurant altogether. Bar snack or visiting for drinks and sitting in the bar or garden would be much better than the dark and airless restaurant room.

We are new to the area and this was our first visit.We were met by a lovely lady behind the bar and directed into the restaurant.Here we were given a soiled menu by a pleasant young man, and I ordered a very mediocre half pint of beer with the taint of an uncleaned beer pump about it.I asked if the curry would be hot and was assured that it was very mild. Fine.My wife ordered Ham and pineapple - a bit tough and salty, but passable.My curry nearly blew my head off.Problem was, the taste was nice but the spicy heat was tremendous. Anyway, I ate it.When the lady came to ask if we had enjoyed our meal, I told her about the curry- she could see the sweat on my brow.She was full of apologies and offered us a free ice cream each - mine was needed to quench the fire in my stomach. The lady returned to our table and told us that she had now tried the curry and, yes, it was far too hot.This lady is by far the Horseshoes' greatest asset.

The food is excellent and reasonably priced. There is a good lively atmosphere, but without being noisy. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive, but not intrusive.Friday evening they had a set menu with a lot of choice and well price at £17.95 for 3 courses, excellent value.

Quick drink before dinner in near by restaurant. The pub is very nice. Old character, but clean modern furnishings. Looks like a good place for catching up with family and friends. On site parking and small patio/garden area at rear. Nice fire places in bar areas. Chips looked good, but didn't try. Range of local beers on tap.

Arrived quite late but were more than happy to keep a chef on to make us dinner. We chose the lamb kofte which was tasty. Shown to our room that was clean and nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable. For breakfast we had a choice and again very good. Staff and service excellent. Would highly recommend

Not much competition for looks really, but this place serves good beer and has a nice restaurant or you can eat in the bar. Menu is quite good with some fairly strange combinations - I had chicken with pineapple and cheese sauce - and staff were very friendly.

We were well impressed with the courtesy of the service at this pub, the presentation of our Sunday roast and the tastiness of the food. Maybe not the most atmospheric of pubs, but the experience for us was very good. Can only be positive about this establishment.

We are local to Dorrington and the Horseshoes is consistently good. The food and service excellent. Last night we enjoyed the garlic prawns and sea bass - delicious. Thank you Tanya and your 1st class staff and service.

I visited The Horseshoes on a quiet Friday night, to have dinner.The staff were very friendly, and offered us a seat in the restaurant or bar - we chose the bar.I really cannot fault anything. Food and drink and service were excellent. I will go again.

Sadly this place has gone downhill since our last visit :-( Arranged to meet friends for a Saturday meal as it was half way between us both and when we arrived we,come was very warm and as before.My husband noticed that the dining rooms were empty and it was a Saturday night ???? We were shown to our table and there was 2 other tables with people on plus the waiting staff s young children ???? Menu very off putting, gluten free , may contain dairy, nuts etc more prominent than the food !! Food when it came , was so mediocre and disappointing. All our visits before for lunch and dinners had been simply amazing and I've written reviews recommending them highly ! Well we ended up the only ones in there by 8.30 other than the 2 children and then the singer started ........ Say no more we left and won't be returning !What a shame

I cannot fault this place or its staff! I recently visited this pub on a weekend away at Netley Hall. The staff are so welcoming especially the manager Tanya - going over and above for us, we cannot speak more highly of her. The fillet steak is to die for as is the Sunday roast and all food sourced locally. Great value for money and a pleasant place to while away the evening.

Myself and a group of friends were staying at the nearby Netley Hall, and popped in for a drink and a quick bite to eat. The decor is pleasant and the staff are friendly. I ordered some chips and a pint of cider. The chips were probably the biggest I've ever had in my life - great if you're hungry but they could've done to have been cooked for longer as they were a bit hard in the middle. The garlic dip was yummy though! One of my friends had the pate which they said was lovely. A nice little pit stop if you're out for a walk

We had a limited time to eat, even though my husband had rang up and booked our table was it ready when we arrived. Served by 3 different members of staff. Order taken quite quickly, food arrived with good portion sizes and tasted good.Finished with time to spare and was offered the dessert menu - shame it took over 15 mins to come - we did not order any, paid the bill and left.It was okay, did what we wanted but staff weren't particularly efficient .

We were a little unsure of whether to visit after reading the reviews about portion sizes. We have just come back from the horseshoes and we are stuffed after 2 courses.The food was fresh and tasty and the staff were friendly.
