The Station Cafe in Shropshire

A friend and me decided to go for a Sunday lunch instead of cooking as we were both going to be on our own. I rang the Station cafe and booked two lunches , we were not disappointed. We had a choice of Turkey or Gammon, both opted for Turkey, the veg was a medley of carrots, green beans and red cabbage, there were roast and boiled potatoes with a stuffing ball extra gravy and cranberry jelly. By jove we really enjoyed our lunch , I can't recommend this little cafe enough, the owner Jon caters for the community and visiting clients alike , breakfasts , salads , burgers and sandwiches etc are also available, well worth a visit, I will be going again soon . Fantastic.

Popped in by chance, we were served very quickly, all freshly cooked and piping hot breakfast, very nice people incharge.

My brother and I have been camping near Craven Arms and found this cafe via Google. It's a great place to go for breakfast. Decent portions at a very reasonable price. The owner is also friendly and the service is great. I would recommend it if you are in the area and want to get fuelled up for the days walking.

This is a very special little place in a beautiful little town. It's a quality cafe with wonderful reasonably priced food. The chap behind the counter was a delight. Engaging and helpful. This place is a happy little place and in a world of enveloping large commercial food retailers please I explore you to seek this place out if you're in craven arms. Independants like this are what we are built on and good ones like this should be cherished.

The Station Cafe is on the A49 as you enter Craven Arms, popular with bikers & locals. The breakfast I had was one of the best, with a mug of tea only £7. There isn't much room for parking but you can park nearby. It has an outside seating area, highly recommended.

Stopped here on the way home from our camping trip for a breakfast. Wow it was really good and plenty of it. Well worth the money and a decent hot brew. The guy was really friendly and nice. The lady who served us even gave our dog a sausage which he enjoyed. Toilets around the back just ask for a key and a grass area to let the dog stretch his legs for our long journey home. Will definitely stop here again when back in the area 👌☺️

Excellent old fashioned cafe with a friendly owner and clientele. Good wholesome brekkie and good natter. Worth a stop.

Trains aren’t the most frequent of things from Craven Arms, but with time to kill a visit to the Station Café is a must. In the day and age of people feeling ripped off, this is one place where value and service is huge. £6.50 for a full English with a tea or coffee makes even Greggs prices look expensive. Food was perfectly cooked, and the gentleman running the café even came over and checked that I was happy with everything, whilst rushing around serving everyone else. Ready for another job that takes me to Craven Arms so I can enjoy another feast.!

Always made to feel welcome here . Call in when going to Cardiff for the rugby n John never forgets a face .

Two visits so far. Once was a epic triple decker cheese and ham toastie, the other was a traditional English breakfast that was superb, £6 including a tea or coffee.

Wonderful cafe hosted by wonderful people. The food was really lovely. The wait wasn’t long either. It’s located right next to the train station so it’s in a convenient location. The price was so good for the amount of portion given. It was 12 pound for two people.

What a fantastic find. The breakfast was amazing and so tasty. John looked after us fantastically and will definitely be going back. Well worth a visit.

We recently stayed at a glamping site nearby , what can I say ? This little gem of a cafe is fabulous! Food is delicious , John is friendly and helpful. Lots of choice avaliable. 👌 we visited twice during our stay as the all day breakfast was filling and plentiful 😋 thank you. Def reccomend.

After a hard morning, a couple of us friends went for something to eat in the Station Cafe in Craven Arms. We could have had a breakfast, sandwiches/baguettes ,curry , salad or a home cooked lunch . Today's choice was Turkey with veg, we both went for that over the other choices . It was absolutely fantastic . For £8 with a small mug of tea/coffee included, what's not to love ?

Visited on our way to Stokesay. Have a small quiet dog who was made very welcome by John, our friendly host who couldn't do enough for us. Nothing would be too much trouble for this business. The breakfast was absolutely scrummy and excellent value. We go over to Shropshire regularly and this will now always be our first port of call. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes good British food with great service.

Called in for breakfast. I had a small breakfast and my husband had a full English. Really tasty, well cooked and large portions. Lovely gentleman served us and made us feel welcome. Really set us up for the day. Well done to the staff. You’re doing a great job! 👍🏼

Called late on.. café was closing..however took the time to make a thirsty biker a nice mug of tea..very great full ..it's a thumbs up from me 🙂

Proper full English. As much as you would want to eat, even for a big lad like me. Full of locals which is always a good sign. Friendly, attentive and quick service, even when really busy. Honestly can't think of anywhere where you can go and get a tasty, good value meal which could better this. Give it a try.

I wrote a review about this gem of a café last year , I returned today for another meal and certainly wasn't disappointed. Today I had an excellent cottage pie with veg and a gravy boat . The lunch was divine , I really do recommend either the breakfast or lunch , fantastic.

Long trip but worth it beautiful cafe

I've been going to the Station café for several years , I've never been disappointed with the food . It's always good quality and tasty , my last meal there was a chicken dinner , I was a tad late for the superb breakfast on this occasion after dropping my car off for a full valet . My chicken dinner was fantastic , I savoured each and every mouthful and washed it down with a lovely cup of tea .

Just had two full breakfasts and a mini breakfast at the Station Cafe (with extra black pudding! 😋) and they were absolutely fab! All cooked to perfection and quality ingredients. Free parking nearby. Would recommend this cafe. There seems to be a lot of regulars, which again shows how good it is.

An Excellent Cafe, really good value food. I had the Full English with black pudding & Cup of Tea, was fantastic. Perfectly cooked, good amount & very tasty. Chatting with owner, really nice, friendly chap. Like all the train memorabilia on the walls. Big thumbs up from me. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended

If the locals use it you know it's got to be good. Not shy with their portions, friendly staff and good prices. We turned up within 5 minutes of them closing but they still served us a roast dinner and made us feel welcome. Good old fashioned custom service 👍👍👍

This place is a little diamond in the rough! Lovely friendly staff and wonderful breakfast! Top notch service as I only mentioned to my brother I didn't want the mushrooms and he said he'd have them and the staff automatically put them onto his plate before bringing it out to us! I agreed to meet up with relatives from Suffolk in Craven Arms today. More than by luck than judgement we met up on the Community Centre Car Park. We ate at The Station Cafe. Great food at great prices. The owner ( or boss in charge) could not have been any more obliging or helpful.

Impromptu stop off following a visit to Land of Lost Content which is just down the road and within walking distance. Easy decision made, x2 All Day Breakfasts ordered with a side of Black Pudding. Decent portions and quick service. Considering what we've paid out on lunches during other visits, we felt the price tag of £12 for us both is good value and very much appreciated. Would definitely come back if visiting Craven Arms in the future.

Popped in on my way to the Elan Valley. Nice breakfast , hot mug of tea and friendly service. A slice of black pudding would have made it a 5*. Probably on the menu as an extra but didn't spot it LOL. True all day breakfast.

I’m sorry it’s taken a while to write this but I just wanted to say thank you so much to the owner for staying open for us after we had taken my nan to say goodbye to her sister at her grave. You were so kind and thoughtful and really made her day. She is very elderly and had traveled from Wales and we needed somewhere to take her to have a warm drink and to rest and you welcomed us without hesitation. You guys are just so kind and wanted to thank you on behalf of us all.
