Lovely little cafe for breakfast and lunch. Service always good and quick, staff polite. Menu offers jacket potatoes, toasties and sandwiches as well as a specials board, fresh cake and milkshake Would recommend and will keep coming back

My young niece recently visited here with our Gran. This was supposed to be a lovely treat for them both during a very difficult time and not something they’ve done together before. Both sat down but were unsure whether to order at the counter or if it was table service. They waited a while and then my niece thought she better just ask. She plucked up the courage to go to the bar and ask if they should wait at the table or order at the bar. The lady was incredibly rude to her and spoke in a terrible manner! Just because she is young she shouldn’t be stereotyped, she should be spoken to with respect like any other customer. The lady ruined what was meant to be a lovely afternoon with her gran and also knocked her confidence in the process.

Very nice lunch. The atmosphere inside was a bit bland if I'm honest. No real attempt at decor. Food was good however.

Outstanding coffee and carrot cake in a comfortable place. They were extremely busy, as it was around lunch time. We were seated and served reasonably quickly.

Stopped en route home from Shropshire to Leeds. Found this Cafe on Google Maps, very well organised and efficient staff. Delicious coffee and cake. Venue smart and welcoming and nice clean toilets! Would definitely go again if we were in the area.

Absolutely fabulous tasty cooked breakfast. We went for the big breakfast. Very good produce, hot and quick service. Free orange juice included in price. We will definitely be back.

Nice cosy place with an open fire at one end and plenty of tables to sit . We had a latte and a hot chocolate, and all were tasty .

I cant tell you how many times I have visited this lovely restaurant and been really impressed with both the food and the service. They have a good variety of food with regular changes to their "special board". They also make delicious cakes that are super yummy. The staff are really friendly and the owner makes you feel welcome every time. Nothing is too much trouble and the food arrives fresh and hot! It is one of my favourite places to eat in Market Drayton. The only thing I don't like is the contactless spoon they carry around (to charge you for your meal). I did speak to a lady and said it just doesn't look good having a spoon in your face when you are ready to pay. However she did say it was handy through COVID. Maybe now they can get rid of it. I also don't like the fact you have to pay before your meal. I normally pay for my meal when leaving but understand different polices may be in place here. Apart from that this place is PERFECT! I would recommend to anyone! keep up the good work everyone.

A good independent cafe in High Street of Market Drayton. Quiet with prompt pleasant service. Fresh jacket potato with tuna mayoside salad plus coffee/ tea for 2 cost c.

Always a favourite of mine. Clare and Roy have done a great job at creating a homely feeling cafe with great food, coffee and service. Mid range priced food, nothing more than what you expect to pay elsewhere either. Highly recommend the Mac & Cheese Panini w/ crispy bacon. Although it sounds like it wouldn't work, it does :)

Me and my partner absolutely love this place! I always look forward to visiting here when I'm around Market Drayton. The staff are super friendly and helpful if you have any queries. The food is hot, fresh and there's a massive selection, including the drinks. It is all very reasonably priced too. Definitely recommend a visit for lunch if you're around! (The carrot cake is also to die for)

So quick to take payment off my friend who has Alzheimer's, whilst I popoed to the toilet. She was flustered .there policy is to take money quickly , so you dont leave before payment. .giving every customer that esrm experience, will not go again

Jacket potato not hot and no butter Whitch was asked for.normaly good . But not today,don't let it slip because quality is normally good.

Friendly staff, pleasant surroundings, lovely coffee, scrumptious home made cakes and the best bacon butties in town, IMO.

I read the reviews before arriving and thought it looked great. My mum and I arrived for breakfast and were seated straight away, it’s about a two minute walk from the carpark. We were seated by a lady who had just started there (I forget her name, colourful hair and lots of kids at home to escape from :-)) she was wonderful, very friendly, just the right amount of attention i.e. not too much, not too little, really personable and just clearly a genuinely nice person who enjoys her job, as she spoke so warmly about it. The food was well priced and I was able to remove items and swap for others on the breakfast menu. It wasn’t an issue for the waitress and I wasn’t made to feel a burden by asking for changes. The food arrived hot and was tasty. The toilet facilities are super, super clean and the restaurant is equally clean and well decorated. We go to Market Drayton every six weeks and have struggled to find a really nice breakfast place which is why I started to look on trip advisor for something better. This place definitely doesn’t disappoint and is clearly a hit with the locals. I’d highly recommend you give it a visit when you’re next in the area.

The Hideout is a very relaxed and welcoming place to take a break. It is just a two minute walk from the town's main car park and very easy to find. The staff are very pleasant and efficient, while the decor is relaxed and attractive with nicely spaced tables - always a plus. There is a good choice of teas, coffees, soft drinks and shakes. The food is wholesome and varied, using quality ingredients. We had a mediterranean vegetable panini and a simple cheese and tomato one which came with a generous salad garnish in a tasty light dressing: they were certainly better than most. The menu is interestingly varied with something to suit everyone's taste. There are 'dishes of the day' available and some very nice desserts and cakes. Afternoon Teas are very popular, too. The Hideout is also available for functions; the size and appearance of the place make it a very practical and comfortable location for special occasions and all the facilities are very nicely kept. The nearby car park is a real advantage. I am hard to please but I did not feel there were any negatives. This is a very nice place throughout.

Lovely coffee, top drawer BLT bacon was amazing in both quality and amount. Random visit but would definitely call again. Was quite busy but they managed to accommodate everyone.

Called in aon a ride, very accommodating I had a lovely piece of Victoria sponge and a latte . Very nice

We popped in for lunch. We're moving close by so thought we'd give it a go. Never been before. Waited 25 minutes before being asked for our order. Waitress struggled with her tablet so took ages to place order. I had sticky bbq pork kebabs, they were extremely fatty with no real flavour. Chips were warm not hot and hubby had coronation chicken jacket which was mediocre at best. Very disappointed, won't return nor would I recommend.

Nice layout ,good menu helpful and welcoming staff and very reasonable prices well worth a visit. There are plant based options and most dietary needs can be accommodated the oat cakes delicious but only served until 12.00

The Dirty Fries are perfect, the Milkshakes are heavenly and the staff are amazing! Came here by chance and left fully happy! Would 100% recommend this small gem hidden at the end of the Market Drayton high street

Good milkshakes, however choclate fudge cake, around 3ish quid for one slice, isnt even that good and you can get a whole cake for only £2.19 in Lidl

Gorgeous place,hearty food and warm lovely staff.

Normally a favourite haunt, but bitterly disappointed today. Sloppy service, half the menu missing and hair in the food. Won’t return unfortunately 😞

Always call here for lunch when we visit the Wednesday market in the town. Staff are friendly and food is good and very reasonably priced.

What I had was fab, the chip and pin reader selataped to a wooden spoon was charming but the service wasn’t great, another example of a younger persons inability to converse in a warm and welcoming fashion within a service environment. A shame really.

Nice cosy environment, which was a good temperature (not to hot or cold), we were quick to be seated (didn't ring in advance) and quick to have someone come and take our order and the food arrived quickly and was very tasty hot. Definitely go back again

Lovely cajun chicken sandwich for myself, cheese and tomato toastie for my wife ,then take home two pieces of the most beautiful lemon cake we have ever tasted.

We visit from Norfolk and this is our first choice to visit for lunch or cake and coffee. The food is always hot, tasty, and service is excellent. Always very clean, covid friendly and staff always helpful.. The home made carrot cake is particularly good. There’s always a great selection of food, which is always an added selection every time we have visited. The kids love the milkshakes, and the coffee is always hot. The afternoon teas are scrumptious too. Will be back next time we visit the area.

Popped in on Saturday as we had booked a table. Lovely welcome quick service and a great breakfast. We had the full English with a pot of tea and toast with butter. I had my eggs scrambled. husband had fried. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was lovely and hot. Think this place is a great place and loved the breakfast.The food is well priced as toast and tea/coffee is included.

Called in for just a coffee on a cold, wet Tuesday. Lovely staff and an extensive menu with lots of different specials on the board. Cafe is licensed so you can enjoy a tipple with your lunch. Closes at 4pm which is a shame.

Chose this cafe as it was half way to Chester and turned out to be a great plan .carpark 30yrds, food was good, real fire for warmth and staff pleasant . Great coffee. Priced fairly......

Stumbled on The Hideout purely by chance - What a brilliant find! Lovely local cafe with a friendly welcome & fantastic homemade cakes - not to mention coffee that actually tastes of coffee, unlike some of the well-known chains.... Prices are v reasonable too. It would be one of our favourite places if we weren't just passing through.

21 October 2021: What a lovely warm and inviting coffee shop. The outside building is extremely attractive and the interior decor is gorgeous. The staff were amazing, very friendly, welcoming and attentive... The menu selection is very tempting and has a good selection of food, cakes and the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available are good and caters for everyone. We popped in here for some lunch and drinks and we weren't disappointed as the food was freshly prepared, cooked and delicious and my bottle of Speckled Hen was perfect along with the white Zinfandel wine too. The prices are very reasonable and good value for the great food and drinks. Our choice for lunch was a portion of their "Dirty Loaded chips with bacon, cheese and spicy mayo, devilishly delicious.. and a BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato) on seeded Brown bread toasted sandwich with fresh salad nicely dressed too...one of the best BLT's I've had in a very long time. So fresh and the bacon was stacked and out of this world too...wow!! Thank you to all the staff and chef/s, you are all stars and we'll definitely be back again, especially for your afternoon proper Tea session!! They also do take-away and have outdoors seating area for sunny days! We highly recommend this cafe and definitely worthy of a visit when in Market Drayton town centre...

Good clean restaurant, freshly cooked lunch, very pleasant staff. Only problem the toilet being up several stairs, my friend has a mobility problem.

Visiting from Norfolk and called in here for a coffee and a piece of cake, the service was good and welcoming the home made carrot cake and Victoria sponge were lovely.

Visited the Hideout for tea and cake as well as a child’s meal. Obviously very under staffed, service very slow. Brought out cakes and tea before meal. Waited 30 mins for hot food, lady apologised she had forgotten and it came ten minutes later. We sat in the secret garden but, it needs a good tidy up and a rain canopy. Cake was nice but overall experience was poor.

Been for lunch today with my husband, daughter & granddaughter, felt like everyone with a child was literally squashed up one side of the restaurant. Can’t say the waitress was that friendly either , food came & the jacket potato’s with Cajun chicken were cold & the Cajun chicken wasn’t in any sort of sauce just literally chicken thrown on top of a potato ! Salad had seen better days , lettuce was going brown ! For £25 I wasn’t impressed & probably won’t be going back

Went in today for some lunch felt very safe and comfortable the younge lady who did our table sevice was absolute fantastic made use laugh and feel at home. The food which was made was delicious the deco looks lovely. Definitely be back again.
