Stumbled across this place recently whilst doing the Melbourne arts trail. Its easy to miss but well worth a visit if you're a fan of tea and cake !. Being gluten free I am used to cafes offering one / two options, but tea at three had five or six (spoilt for choice - all looked delicious !), plus probably a dozen other non GF options to tempt you. The coffee was good too. They have a small seating area indoors and more seating in the courtyard outside. I will be back next time I am in Melbourne - many thanks !.

We went there for the first time today and my first visit to the Marina. The restaurant was lovely, with excellent service and the food was absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend! The Marina is a really nice spot and would have been a nice place to walk around in nicer weather!

Arrived late as a rather frazzled mum with two hungry young children in tow and our lively young golden retriever. Fantastic friendly welcome from the owners. Dave the owner offered to take my dog off my hands while I got the kids sorted - and even took the dog outside for a wee as we had been driving for 8 hours! Above and beyond. I had called ahead to reserve a table and had a delicious main course of stuffed pheasant and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The children enjoyed their meals too. Wonderful relaxed environment where you can have a chat and everyone can feel at home. First discovered this pub in 2018 - it was my favourite pub then for the warm welcome and sticky toffee pudding and this has continued with the new owners! Definitely recommend if you are in the area - this pub is the real deal! Hope we can return soon.

Me and my partner came in at 3:30 on the 30th as we were after a coffee, without any greeting we were abruptly asked by a man behind the counter if we had a booking and when we said no we were told they were fully booked and he walked off. We were not offered a take out option, despite seeing people outside the coffee shop with take out. So we went down the road and had a lovely coffee at the apple tree where we had a friendly greeting and a nice bit of cake.

The Landlord was very friendly, sociable and nothing was too much trouble. He went out of his way to ask about and accommodate any preferences.....superb customer care. The food was good, hot and well presented. The Marston's Pedigree was good and the drivers well accommodated with various hot drinks.. The place was nice and warm even on a cold day....excellent ambiance. I would recommend without a doubt and will return again.

We booked a film and meal . Went to see Paddington in Peru - lovely gentle film which we enjoyed immensely. Table was automatically booked for time the film ended. We were led straight to our table and ordered our drinks. We chose our meal and ordered when the perfectly timed and delivered drinks arrived . The pate and fish and chips we’d chosen were very tasty. The staff couldn’t have been nicer throughout and we had a really enjoyable evening. Thank guys.

What a turnaround! Last visited here a couple of years ago and have never felt so unwelcome in a pub in my life. Had heard that it had changed hands and WOW, what a change! Warm, welcoming and offering a superb range of cobs and pasties through the week and homemade hot options Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The food is truly excellent value for money, very generous portions of fresh, quality ingredients, really good freshly made coffee too. My friends and I were made truly welcome with our three dogs, and somewhat damp boots, even to the extent that they came out to make a fuss of the dogs and offer treats! Made time to engage with us despite the pub being busy (which in itself is testament to the turnaround they have achieved). I often walk my two dogs along the canal here and it is lovely to know that I can now call in here with them for a coffee and a cob and feel welcome. Keep up the excellent work, we need more pubs like this offering good old fashioned value for money and friendly service.

Very convenient being situated right next to the Travelodge we stayed in for the night. Coffees lovely. Staff friendly. The only point I was disappointed with was the cleanliness. The long seats were completely covered in crumbs, hairs and dirt, which I had to brush off. Tables dirty. Floor covered in food. The staff were standing around and we were one of only 3 couples and no others customers present so it wasn’t clear as to why cleanliness wasn’t being kept up to a higher standard. This doesn’t detract from their warm welcome but sitting on a clean chair and at a clean table would’ve been nice. We would however return and hope that this was an isolated case.

After going to our usual eateries at Barton Marina and all full, we tried “The Waterfront” it’s been a while. We were so lucky one table left. Found the bar staff so welcoming and extremely helpful. A really buzz and Twixmas vibe. So quick and efficient service. Thank you, we did not go hungry.
