Disappointed normally would get all 5’s. Don’t order over the phone they can’t calculate the total correct and get the discount wrong. Then when you flag it up with them they tell you you’re wrong without checking and or correcting it.

We had very little time to settle before we were continually chased for an order. Starters were delivered and halfway through eating we found GLASS in the food, They admitted a glass had been broken in the kitchen and offered £3.90 off a meal. Certainly a place I will not be returning to

Great food but always feels rushed so doesn't make for a relaxing evening. No break between courses even when restaurant not busy. This has been mentioned a few times on reviews. Please take these comments on board, your food is amazing but it's the whole dining out experience that matters.

Great service , friendly and efficient best Indian for miles around . Strongly recommend king prawn balti with a bit of heat and all the seafood specialities. Also poppodom and pickles and meat samosas were good.

The food at the restaurant was good, which is understandably the main reason people dine out. However, my partner and I visited for dinner around 5:45 PM, on my birthdayand were the first customers of the day. the staff's behavior was not welcoming. When we asked about other dishes, their responses were rude and lacked any friendliness, making us feel unwelcome. At the end of our meal, we politely said goodbye, but their manner remained unfriendly. Their behavior made me feel really bad on My special day. The restaurant should hire friendly people.

Shocking service. My family took me here for my birthday with my young grandaughter. We were left waiting initially. Booked a table and the directed elsewhere to eventually be redirected after my daughter-in-law challenged the staff. Ordered drinks that failed to arrive. Waiter eventually arrived and went to take our order for poppadoms and the next bit was the best he turned around because the next table asked to remove some empty glasses and he completely ignored us took the glasses and never returned. Three more attempts and the waiters pleaded we stay and eat. At that point I took my family out as I was not prepared to spend in a restaurant that was completely out of control an lacked leadership.

We popped in last night and I’m so glad we did! The food was unbelievably good. I had the lamb shank. The pricing was fantastic, it was busy and the service was good. We will definitely be back.

THE BEST INDIAN I'VE EVER HAD. A place not to be missed. Starters were brilliant and mains were just fantastic. Staff were excellent. Definitely worth a visit, see you next time from South Wales.

Fantastic food and the service is second to none. They always so friendly and welcoming and the dishes are full of flavour. Well worth the trip and we will definitely be coming back after eating here a few times already.

Mixed bag in this place......firstly the food is absolutely first rate, hot and well presented. However, the service or, should I say server was incredibly rude. An older member of the party was struggling pronouncing the dish they wanted to order. Instead of helping her with this, he merely rolled his eyes, sighed and showed no patience at all. The whole ordering thing was very rushed and we felt pressured to decide on what to order. Obviously he missed the customer service module at waitering college! After the meal, the table was cleared in an instant and you got the impression they wanted you out so the table could be used for another booking. Shame really as the food was fabulous.

The food is exceptional but because of this, its extremely busy. Had a long wait for our table to become vacant but once seated, service was pretty prompt.

I took my mother for an early Mother’s Day meal and honestly was amazing, food was brilliant, staff were amazing, would highly recommend to anyone!

Great food as always. Slightly disappointed by the rushed service perhaps because we had an earlier evening booking? No sooner had we sat down then drinks orders were being taken very quickly followed by food orders before we had even had time to settle and look at the menu. Had an incredible meal at Little india last night. Came down after hearing good things about the place and reading the wild reviews. I must say I wasn't disappointed at all. Starters were delicious along with the main course and desert. The waiters were very attentive and always tried to help even though it was very busy. Best curry I've had in years and I'll definitely be returning again pretty soon.

One of the best Indian restaurants in the country. Excellent food, perfectly prepared and very attentive staff. The menu offers traditional and new dishes. Note: if you want to dine in the restaurant, you WILL need to make a reservation - it is so good, it is always booked (always a good sign at a restaurant !)

Ordered a takeaway for collection. Rang at 7.07pm in the car as the road was flooded and couldn’t get there from Swadlincote takes around 20 minutes. Rang them to cancel and they wouldn’t refund the money. Wouldn’t have been ready until 7.25pm and was a tikka masala so not as if they’ve done a special dish. Such a shame as order from here regularly

Always good for a meal or takeaway. Eating in is always chaotic - even with reservations you normally have to wait for a table and it is always busy. Great food every time!

What a lovely lunch it was fantastic . This was my first curry Christmas lunch and it was superb . Great atmosphere in the restaurant . Excellent faultless service provided . Absolutely brilliant. Hard to find a better curry. Despite living away from the area we make sure we come here at least annually; it’s that good.

Nice place. Had a good atmosphere. Felt extremely rushed when ordering food. Asked for popadums but we had to order everything at once! When food was served, I burnt my fingers on a plate that was handed to me. A waiter reached over my plate with a drink & spilt coke in my dinner. Some nan breads were undercooked. Curry’s were “ok”, a bit bland & nothing special my any means. I had lamb shank & it didn’t wow me at all. Even the standard dishes were below par. All our group were very disappointed as we’d heard really good things about this place but felt very underwhelmed when we left. Certainly won’t be hurrying back

Had a gorgeous takeaway from here this evening!.. Staying close by at Whycnor, travelling back from the NEC, so ordered enroute, and collected as we past, but they did offer delivery... A very busy place, which I can see why, sheek kebab starters, south Indian garlic chicken, chicken tikka passanda, veg pilau, bindal barghi, and cheese & onion naans were all perfect!! We love our local takeaway, and never find anywhere close to quality, but tonight we might have just found a better one!! Trouble is it's 300 mile from home 😅.. will definitely be back next time I'm the area!!

Travelling all day,me and my partner stubbled upon Little India. Absolutely friendly staff who welcomed us. The food was of a high standard,with such an array of mouth watering dishes and the place was beautifully decorated. Such a lovely little gem of a place to find and thoroughly enjoyed our meals immensely. Will be returning. Thank you.

We were staying at Wynchor Country House and I rang up to check whether they would deliver to our apartment's. They agreed without hesitation and the food arrived in good time. The lamb Madras was absolutely superb, lots of tender lamb pieces. The mixed tandoori starter, onion bargies and Chicken Balti were also very good. Despite poor phone signals the driver made great efforts to keep us updated and I met him outside to receive food and pay the cash. The driver was excellent and polite to deal with. Cannot recommend them enough.

Never again! First and last time. Within 20 minutes of arriving, a waiter threw a pint of beer over me, soaking me. I then returned from the bathroom to find another waiter had knocked my cardigan to the floor and was trampling all over it. The first waiter was apologetic, the second oblivious, but management did not apologise nor offer a discount nor to pay cleaning costs. I sat in wet clothes all evening and my satin shoes are stained. On leaving, I pointed these things out to a waiter who couldn't have cared less and was told, "Yeah, yeah, next time, next time." With such poor service and very average food, there won't be a next time!

Food and service ok but the portion size is a lot smaller than what you get from there take away service. I will not be eating in again not value for money

Took some friends to little India for their first visit. We had a lovely meal as always and our friends were very complimentary of the whole experience saying it was one of the nicest Indian meals they had in years!!!

Staying at nearby Wychnor Park for a couple of nights we found ourselves slightly cut-off because of extensive roadworks that totally closed the A38 in both directions. The diversion was lengthy and seemed difficult to navigate and the bar/restaurant at the resort was closed. So we decided to opt for a take away and took pot luck from the room directory. Very glad we chose Little India. Delivery was prompt, food hot and absolutely delicious. We will definitely visit the restaurant when we are in the area.

We didn't like here, food is poor at best, service was extremely slow.

I ordered food from here thinking I ordered it from a different Little India. I understand not double checking the website was my fault, but when I called they did nothing to recify the situation, no offer of even a partial refund as the food was not being picked up as we are far away from the restaurant. I just hope that the food I ordered was eaten.

We are staying at Wychnor Park Country Club and after a stressful drive to get here today, decided to order a takeaway meal for delivery. Placed our order by phone and the meal delivered within the hour. The service provided by this restaurant was first class as was the food. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We visited Little India last night lovely food but we were so rushed before my husband could finish his first course it was whipped away and within seconds our second course was put in front of us then after we finished , Main course bill was presented and we were not asked if we wanted sweet or coffee so we left feeling so rushed what a shame

First visit and was very impressed - all staff very friendly and attentive the food was amazing without doubt the best Indian cuisine we have ever had! We will certainly be back

5 star service. Decent food to rival Anoki. We found this by mistake. But wow. It’s what I’ve been looking for. Service is impeccable. Fast, attentive, friendly. Now our first choice.

Well what can I say? If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! First time going to this restaurant. It's also the first time I've been to an Indian restaurant. Omg I am so impressed! Good job we booked in advance. It was very busy in the restaurant. There were also people queueing inside and out for take away. We were seated straight away. Napkins were taken off the table and laid on our laps and drink orders taken. Food was ordered and the starter was out within 10 minutes along with poppadoms and dips, including an orange coloured mint dip which was delicious. Main course was served within a few minutes of our starters being eaten. The waiters took the time to tell us about the food we ordered etc. I ordered a korma and the waiter told me a way his family make it. It was interesting to listen to. We made chit chat with them and asked if they celebrated Eid yesterday. Each member of staff were always busy and very friendly with each other and us. They didn't stop. They were always moving and busy. I don't think I saw one member of staff stand still the entire time we were there. The food was fantastic. The cauliflower bhaji was lovely and fragrant. I cannot fault a single thing tonight. At the end after our meal they gave us hot flannels to clean our hands and face. I have never had a service like it. I don't think I've given such a long review either!

Ordered at 5:30, told 1 hour so chased at 7:00, told on its way. Chased again at 7:50, turned up shortly after. If I was told I wasn't getting my food for 2 and a half hours I wouldn't have bothered. If you cannot cope dont take the order or at least be truthful about wait. Very disappointing. Haven't been for a while and we won't rush back.

Every March for the past 7 years, 16 of us have been visiting this restaurant. We arrived at 8pm on a busy Saturday night to fabulous food and even better service. We were made to feel welcome and the food was tasty and well priced. Can’t wait to visit again next March.

After a damning review in December decided to give this place another go. Food was delicious, Kulfi back on the menu and complementary drinks when we got the bill. It was pleasing to see the return of the kulfi and the complementary drinks at the end are a nice touch. Based on my experience now I would be more inclined to dine in.

First time after being recommended, excellent staff made the family feel very welcome and relaxed. Kids said best chicken tikka they have ever eaten. Food was great. This is now the only Indian restaurant on our list

Spoke to someone on the phone to place an order and he was mimicking me and taking the mick out of my accent. They are rude! Asked to speak to a manager who I don’t believe was one and he said the guy I spoke to was new? New?? And he’s taking the mick out of how someone speaks what an absolute joke. Will never order from there again, just lost a customer and a few more well done

We booked our table and arrived 5 minutes beforehand. The restaurant was very busy with people waiting to be seated in the reception area. We stood near the bar/ reception area for about 10 minutes, there was no “hello” or welcome from any of the staff members at all. They kept walking by us and asking us to move out of the way so they could serve food. We literally had nowhere to move to. After a further 15 minutes of being ignored we complained and then we eventually got a seat. Not a nice seat in the booth areas that most couples were given but a table next to the most obnoxious, rude and noisiest party of 6 people I have ever had the misfortune to sit near. We had a brief discussion with a passing local about our experience so far, she explained that it was always busy and that the food more than makes up for any misgivings. Well I can honestly say that the locals clearly don’t get out much or have experienced what a truly good Indian restaurant has to offer in terms of food, mannerisms and service. The food was both bland and cold. We were truly disgusted and underwhelmed by this restaurant. We payed our bill at the bar and will never be back again when there are far better restaurants around.

Great food could just do with more filling in the Keema naan as there was not much at all

We visited here this evening as a family of 4. We arrived slightly earlier than our booking and we were greeted with friendly faces and a willingness to assist us. The staff are all really efficient and on hand if you need anything. Service was super quick, maybe a little too quick (this would be my one and only slightly negative comment) but the food was delicious and the staff extremely friendly. The portion sizes were more than adequate and we were all fully satisfied by our choices. We were also pleasantly surprised that our bill was a good £15 cheaper than where we would usually eat at……..Winner! We will definitely be returning.

This is our second meal from Little India ordered online. The meal was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented. We have been considering eating in but a couple of reviews below are concerning and restaurant have not replied to these reviews. Suggest manager comments on them so that customers can see what caused these comments and hopefully it's not the norm.

Excellent birthday meal out at Little India restaurant our large family group enjoyed a great selection of tasty starters and the main courses beautifully presented and favoursome. Brilliant atmosphere and service completed the evening although my first visit here but definitely not the last.

Excellent food and easy method for paying with a card via SMS after ordering over the phone. Everything very flavoursome and authentic. We had a small error on the order and the delivery driver came back with refund which was fabulous service. Would highly recommend.

Visited the Little India restaurant in September. The service was good and the food was even better. We tried the aubergene curry with rice which was delicious.
