Thai Marina Restaurant in East Staffordshire

We visit the Thai at Barton regularly. The food is always very tasty and the service is always very friendly and efficient. The marina itself is a lovely area. Always a lovely experience and fair value for money. Would thoroughly recommend.

Have eaten here many times over the years as its a great place with lovely decor overlooking the marina.However,our last two visits for sunday lunch have been dissapointing due to fatty beef and on the most recent visit am sure that the beef was pre-packed sliced meat and not a cut from a rosted joint as experienced at most other similiar resteraunts.The beef was edible but have my doubts as am not a chef and will stand corrected if not the case---also we were thinking of booking Christmas Day lunch but at £115 per head we thought this somewhat over priced--perhaps somewhere between 75 and 90 pounds would have tempted us..That said we will return so my message is give it a try and form your own opinion.

Very attractive restaurant on a pretty waterfront. Thai food is my favourite cuisine, and this was excellent, really tasty and fresh. Both my husband and I would strongly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful place to enjoy a special meal out. The food is fantastic and the choice is amazing. Everything we had was delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff are exceptionally attentive, and the ambience is perfect, whether it is a large gathering or a romantic meal for two. The meals and drinks are not cheap but definitely worth the money.

Amazing place, so ambient. The surroundings are amazing, the marina is on form,.. but we're here to judge this restaurant. So., amazing food, amazing service and the atmosphere is just my cup of tea. If I was to give a gripe, and be totally honest, it is quite expensive, however worth every penny for a special occasion for the quality and setting. I'd advise the set meals for best value.

Authentic thai food in a lovely waterside setting. The Favourite Basket mixed starter was delicious and great for sharing. I had the chicken pad thai, flavours were amazing (although the noodles were ever so slightly overcooked for my liking). The service was extremely friendly and attentive. Would definitely return.

Nice place, friendly staff. We went for the set menu as a benchmark. Starters were great, mains were good too, and there was plenty to eat. Good parking, easily accessible.

Had a gorgeous meal here prior to going to the Red Carpet Cinema. I had a prawns and noodles dish which had amazing flavours and my partner had a Chefs recommendation of Ped Sauce Prik (half a duck). Both delicious and well presented. Delightful staff and excellent service.

Stunning food will be back. Pad Thai stunning to tasty just like we had in Thailand. So helpfully with our 6 year old grandchild.

Just had a wonderful meal here. Fantastic flavours and presentation. We ordered the set menu which was plentiful. I ate way too much and wish I had done what a neighbouring couple did and boxed the items they hadn’t eaten into boxes to take home. The ambience, decor and staff were all excellent.

Food was really nice, visited for the lunch deal! Very good value. Only rated the atmosphere a bit low as there was no music and was a bit chilly in there but the staff are really welcoming and friendly and the decor is ace 😀

We were warned about the service in this restaurant but we did want some Thai food so we decided upon going. However this was quite possibly the worst service we’ve ever experienced, and that is coming from 4 different people. We were assigned a waitress who was extremely rude from the beginning and continued to huff and puff throughout the time we were ordering, told us to read the menu when we asked questions and rolled her eyes continuously. We were told by the manager it was because we didn’t order our starter and main together however we were never told to at any point. Will not be returning ever

The setting is lovely, however the food is very overpriced £8.50 for a starter of squid, four tiny pieces. PS The portion sizes are small, we love Thai food and have been to a few, much better Thai restaurants in Burton, better prices and tastier food. The service was quick, the waiter did not ask what we ordered he just put the food anywhere and we had to swap the dishes round, felt very rushed. Will definitely not be going back.

Food was really good as was the service. I liked the fact that we were asked when would we be ready for the main course after the starter. As often you finish the starter and your main arrives minutes after.

The food and decor are probably one of the best I have seen in this category of restaurants. What adds even more value to this place is the very pleasant and efficient staff and service.

Very average food, Thai fish cakes seemed brought in. Satay like peanut butter. however it’s a lovely venue.

I celebrated my sons 18 th birthday here with family. We thoroughly enjoyed our selves. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly and accommodating.The restaurant is a hidden gem. Will definitely recommend and will come back again .

We have dined at the Thai Marina a few times and it has always been a pleasure. The atmosphere, service and food has always been outstanding. A great selection of mouth watering dishes that are wonderfully served to choose from and the staff are always happy to help with any recommendations. The menu prices are above average but definitely worth it. Like anything else, you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.

What a gem! This is hands down the nicest Thai I've ever had. The food was beautifully presented, good portion sizes and simply delicious. A lot of the dishes had the chilli sign next to them, which worried me because I'm not good with heat but I chanced it for a dish with one chilli sign and it was the perfect spice. The kind of spice that adds flavour and does no harm. I'd highly recommend visiting this place if you're in the area. It's also in a really beautiful setting on the waterfront. The staff were friendly, service was quick and price was very good value for money.

We have a leisure mooring at Barton Marina so once a month or so we treat ourselves to a meal at the Thai Marina. We have never found the staff less than wonderfully courteous and this combined with excellent cooking makes for a great evening - I can only assume that any "terrible" reviewers are a miserable bunch! The starters are great as are the afters, though now we tend to stick to the affogato which is exceptional in value and taste. In between is fantastic: we usually ignore the Curries and Stir-Fried, because the Chef's Recommendations and Fish Dishes deliver such great taste and quality that we don't need rice or noodles. In three years we have never left unsatisfied.

Delicious food, brilliant service, beautiful restaurant. The veggie and vegan selection is also brilliant. Would definitely recommend the massaman with mock duck!

The best Thai we have had and the waitress and server made our experience amazing. They made us feel we mattered and that nothing we could ask was too much! The decor was brilliant inside and such a gorgeous setting. Would definitely come again. Highly recommended

Genuinely one of the best meals I've ever had. Had my wife's 30th birthday here, was suitably exquisite without being too pricey. Set menu A ❤️ Also service was genuinely good, they didn't just ask if food was okay but for example I eat some food with my hands so without asking they bought a bowl of warm water with lemon in for free for me to dip my fingers into. Amazing.

We decided to try out the Thai Marina as the reviews were all great. It was a Friday evening, table booked for 7.30pm and it was extremely busy. The location is to die for, its like being on holiday with the restaurant overlooking the marina. The interior is beautiful, the food absolutely delicious and the service 5 star. All the staff were polite, Friendly and very hardworking, tables were cleared and cleaned quickly ready for the next load of people. I couldn't fault any member of staff, bearing in mind some were quite young they had a fantastic work ethic and attitude and are a credit to the restaurant. The food arrived in good time, hot and very tasty couldn't fault any of it. I can't recommend this restaurant enough - give it a try because you won't be disappointed.

I have been to this place many times. I have also lived in Thailand. Put simply, this is the best Thai food I have had in the UK. The service is always very friendly, prompt and on point. The food is sensational. The atmosphere is lovely. Always come here for my Thai fix!

Lovely lunch with friends Tables close and sat everyone in one area

Food was fine, I’ve had quite a lot of Thai cuisine and this place served quite nice food, but certainly wasn’t the best I’ve had. The service was also fine, nothing special but polite and helpful when needed. As I am not especially local (25 mins drive away) I don’t think I’d come back here but it’s nice if you’re in the area. Adding photo and dropping the rating by one star following owners rude and aggressive reply to demonstrate I did in fact visit their restaurant and simply reviewed it a few weeks later when I had some time!

Our first visit to Thai Marina Restaurant, meeting up with friends. The restaurant was busy, which is normally a good indicator. The interior decoration is lovely, accompanied by a warm welcome and excellent service. The food was delicious, staff extremely helpful when assisting to select dishes from the extensive menu. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Beautiful food... really enjoyed our time here. Our 2nd visit, went Saturday night and was really busy in the restaurant but we still had brilliant service from the very attentive staff who couldn't do enough for us. The food was absolutely amazing, the star rating only goes up to 5 on here BUT would like to give it a 10!! My husband and I had a duck dish for our main course and the duck was sooooooo tender. Can't wait to visit again soon. Highly recommend if you enjoy Thai food.

Went on a Sunday lunchtime and decided to have the 2 course fixed price menu. There were a lot of dishes to choose from. The food was amazing. It was served hot, it was beautifully presented and it was delicious. The staff were very attentive and polite, too, and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. We will definitely be returning here.

Been to the cinema to watch the new Indiana Jones film which I have to say was the best of all the Indy films. Anyway.....on to this restaurant. Very busy for a 7pm Friday night. Service impeccable....food excellent and plentiful. What more can I say....well worth a visit.

We had the two course fixed meals. It is very nicely prepared and presented . The restaurant inside was beautiful. Polite and attentive staff. There was a good view of the marina.

Brilliant food decent service and prices are about the norm,the mixed seafood noodles was delicious and so was the king prawn noodle dish. 2 Bottles of wine and double Drambuie and a baileys £117 plus tip

Fabulous food and all 8 of us enjoyed it. Yes I would go again but only in a party below 6. Our bill was £400 without deserts £40 was a service charge and £9 was for the prawn crackers we didn’t ask for. That’s nearly £50 that we were not expecting. Now while it may need seem a lot for some it was a lot to us couples scrapping together to enjoy a rare evening out for a significant birthday of a friend. Because we were in a party of 8 we had to pay the service charge. We would have left a tip just not £40. Yes the device was good but not £40 good. Plus why were charged £9 for prawn crackers we didn’t ask for. On top of that I know they by a box of them for only £10 that probably serves over 20 tables. So my advice fab food just go in tables of 6 or less and don’t have prawn crackers!

Fantastic food - the soup was particularly tasty - wonderful service and a spectacular interior that reminded us of Las Vegas. We're considering changing our mooring just to be close to this restaurant!

To say the food was 'good' here, is to do it a great disservice. The food here is --PHENOMENAL--. We had Set Menu B and gosh it was to die for! The starter sampler was so good, followed by a soup that knocked it out of the park, and the mains were equally incredible! This easily rates one of the top ten meals I've ever had out. The balance of flavors, the way they change as you take each bite, the freshness. Just gorgeous! And the atmosphere, wow! Very comfortable and loved the theming. It's OTT and classy at the same time. We've just learned it's about 45 minutes from our house-- and that is well, WELL worth it!

This is a lovely Thai restaurant that has some amazing customer service. The restaurant inside looks actually incredible with some amazing decor and water features. The food tasted great, presented really nicely and arrived quickly at our table. The staff here are also very kind and attentive. Would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a great Thai restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic Restaurant, the food is the best Thai food I have ever tasted.The presentation is second to none, wasn't sure wether to eat the carrots the design and presentation was outstanding. The food is very well cooked and very tasty. The customer service is very professional, warm and considerate, no request is too much for this lovely restaurant. Big thank you to the Manager who squeezed me in at the last minute. 😎👍 So much variety to choose from...you really are spoilt for choice. This is a must visit place, you will not be disappointed. I would recommend that u book to avoid disappointment. Family friendly, lovely atmosphere and beautifully decorated surroundings make this a top place to eat out.

I said yes please. So we sat at a table that was overlooking the marina. It was truly tranquil. When the food arrived it was gorgeous. The prices were quite reasonable too. A warm welcome, friendly service and excellent food and reasonable prices. Please note the day of the week we went on was a Thursday early evening and it wasn't very busy. Therefore if you went on a different day and time, such as a busy Saturday evening you may have a slightly different experience tonwhat we did, but who knows. It is definitely worth coming down and trying.

If I could give a 6 for service I would. The food is incredible and the atmosphere too.....it was acreal pleasure made even better by the girls who tended the tables!

A close friend from the Swad area and I tried this restaurant tonight, as the Marina is a good halfway point between where we both live. I can't believe I've never thought to come here before; even if I wasn't here to shop, it's such a beautiful park and there are many places to stretch your legs! Just off the A38 and very accessible. For this occasion, we were meeting for dinner, and picked the Thai Marina. My friend's been here before with colleagues and had been meaning to suggest it as a venue for a catch-up for quite some time, so I've heard a lot of good things about it. The decor is absolutely beautiful - the restaurant is lovely and open, with a chandelier, wooden panelling, traditional fabric placemats and plants. We were seated by a window looking out onto the Marina. My friend and I like to share platters, so we went straight to the set menus and selected 'B'. The portions are huge so if you do go for a set menu, come with a healthy appetite or at least be prepared to take food home! The Favourite Basket was nice and filled with Thai favourites - the satay sauce was excellent. We barely made a dent in the noodles or the beef curry (Gaeng Dang Nuea), but everything was well-prepared and tasty. My favourite was the Tom Kha Gai, very rich and packed with flavour. When I come here next, I think I'll be brave and try a hotter dish - and perhaps skip lunch given the portion sizing! The staff were cheerful and friendly, and service was quick - and your bill is delivered with a lovely little branded post-meal chocolate. The night was young so the restaurant had a quiet ambience, but there's plenty of parking available across the Marina so you'll have multiple choices for where to park your wagon if it's a busy evening. Would recommend.

Second time here, and just like the first, food was fantastic (except the soup, not to my taste). Had one of the set menus, as this provided the best value, in my opinion, as the individual meals menue can work out expensive. The only issue on this visit was the service. Now, don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. It was fairly good during the meal worthy of a tip, in fact, but by the time our meal ended, it felt like they were short on staff. Took about 10-15 minutes to get the attention of staff to ask for the bill (but if they don't want my money, that's fine 🙂) this was also a problem a couple had on the table to the side of us. I would recommend Thia Marina

I have wanted to go to this restaurant for a long time. I was not disappointed. The choice of food was amazing. The food itself was brilliant- so tasty. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. I genuinely don't have a single negative. I can't wait to go back.

Amazing food the stir fried noodles were the best.Number 50 was a bit too slippery but yummy .1 thing i hated was we had to wait half an hour.

The food is recommended. Flavoursome with a good variety to choose from. Even the dessert (sticky rice ) was brilliant . Special shoutout to Yupin who served us. Always had a great smile and kept it fun which made our experience even better. We spend £160 between 5 for including wine and food.

We made a very last minute reservation for Saturday night, and were lucky to get one as it was very busy when we got there! The decor and location is great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to us and our toddler. The food was delicious with a wide range of dishes available. I would definitely recommend Thai Marina.
