I was surprised by the lack of a welcome. No menu offered but later saw that they had some for others who asked. Cold atmosphere. A couple appeared at the door and clearly had not been there before and stood wondering if they should just take a seat or wait to be seated. There were not many in so it was not busy. The owners ignored them so they sat down. Owner came and cleared a nearbuy table and continued to ignore them and then he came and cleaned the nearby table. Eventually one of the couple went to look at the specials board and that prompted the owner to offer them a menu. I bet they dont come again. Looking after customers is key to a smalll cafe and they didnt do it.
I can only be honest and fair in my experience yesterday with Lizzies cafe barn. To start, before we had even entered the cafe a lady came outside to us. (To my knowledge this is the owner so I’m surprised she had confosu text herself in this way with it being her own business). We had a baby with us and she instantly said I didn’t know a baby was coming to the event. It’s supposed to be 16 adults and 2 children and that there was already 5 children upstairs.. this instantly would make anyone feel uncomfortable with a baby in arms. We took the baby out of the pram and upstairs to find there were actually 3 children so I’m unsure why the staff member had exaggerated. the space upstairs was small which was difficult to move around. Our younger family member, a small child, does have autism and did struggle with the small space so understandably she was taken outside by another family member as there was seating outside. I went downstairs to check on my family to check find a passive aggressive Lizzie making demands for my family to move from the seating. This happened on multiple ocassions. This is unacceptable. Please, if you are considering a friendly and child friendly facility please use another places such as gluttons, which isn’t to far. your children won’t be welcome. staff need additional training on how to treat customers.
Went for the avo and mushroom toast. The mushrooms were slimy and tasted off, the bread was also super cheap. I told the waitress the mushrooms were off, she advised they were fresh…. After disagreeing with me for a while longer she went back into the kitchen with my plate. When she returned, the waitress told me that the chef had just eaten one of the mushrooms off my plate and they were definitely fresh…..
She did offer more toast and avo, but I didn’t really want more toast. No offer of a refund, and being told I was wrong was super annoying.
Wouldn’t go back. Grim.
Popped in here while my son attended an appointment locally. Hoping to work a little and grab a coffee. Staff were friendly and service was quick. The menu looks great, good variety and really reasonably priced.
I had a large latte and toast for £3.25 bargain. Coffee was lovely too.
Free wi fi meant I could work easily. I’ll be back

Wings are my favourite thing and I miss being able to go to America but the fact I can get the taste of America so local makes everything better!
Also the wings are that nice I want them at my wedding reception!!
Good range of organic food and a good cafe too. The cafe only has a few tables, but the coffee was excellent and the chocolate brownie and fruit flapjack were delicious. Lovely couple that run it.
What a wonderful little gem of a place! Have visited twice now in two weeks for tea and cake and a stroll around the garden. Cakes are amazing, staff are lovely and bring food out to your table. The walled garden is full of lovely plants, some unusual and the insect life and especially the dragonflies just a wonder to watch. Thank you 😊
We gave a takeaway curry every Saturday night and sit in the restaurant often. Service is brilliant lovely people. The best Indian food we have had for a long time.
