Fish pakora and chicken tikka chat on puri I thought were bland and nearly inedible. Fish pakora was mushy and tasted like it was fried in old oil. chicken chat was ok though was bland and had courgette mixed in or maybe cucumber which was wasn’t nice. Lamb pathia was ok but again thought that was bland, the fried rice was the best dish, very tasty!
We literally Turner up!
Ordered food and drinks which arrived timely, food was lovely to enjoy - you need to be careful with retardant which brands themselves Turkish - This was perfect.
A small family run business, which you can feel the attention to guests. Could not fault them!
Recommended!
Dropped in for a spot of lunch as we were passing through. Friendly staff. Decent menu at reasonable prices. Freshly produced food with decent portions. No WiFi.
A great place to meet friends for lunch or a cuppa! Lovely welcoming staff & fabulous homemade cakes & lunch choices! Good value too! My toastie was delicious & one of the best skinny cappuccino’s in Sutton !
The guys working at the Market Plaice are absolutely fantastic, we took a group of young people on a Halloween walk through Bromsgrove and decided to go for a bite to eat at Market Plaice, The guys provided all of our young people with cakes sweets and everything they had to celebrate with us, we had fish chips and sausage's which was absolutely delicious, thank you for making our Halloween walk extra special :) you guys are amazing, keep doing what your doing, you really showed us great community spirit throughout. we will definitely be back soon.
Excelente servicio amable. Ambiente agradable y limpio. El desayuno era de 5 estrellas y nos llenó. Recomiendo este lugar totalmente. El personal era muy atento y nos ayudó con cualquier consulta que tuvimos. La comida era de primera clase.
I was quite excited by the concept and was assured by the owner there would be plenty of vegetarian/vegan options on offer. Having an Indian background my instant thought was ‘ok, can’t go wrong with the vegetarian dishes.’
We were a large group with kids. The seating was tight and we were unable to sit comfortably. Only 1 highchair available therefore unable to accommodate baby who had to remain in pushchair.
Chef took considerable amount of time preparing what looked like Bhel. Drinks took a long time to reach our table.
At this point, we had 4 H-ANGRY kids.
Food arrived at a slow pace, which was largely disappointing since it lacked variety, flavour and spice. There was not a single piece of Paneer that was served for the vegetarians. This is a premium item for vegetarians like chicken/lamb is for non-vegetarians.
There was no grilled Paneer for starters, nor Paneer curry as a Mains.
The non-vegetarian food was mostly tasteless.
The Pooris had already been pre-made with a coconut filling (not nice) so when we asked for Plain Pooris/ Naan for the Kids they could not accommodate.
We asked for plain chips for the Kids we were served with curly fries. However when the Starters were served it oddly contained plain chips, we were baffled. When additional food/ drinks were requested to the table it was either very slow or forgotten about.
On the whole I was completely disappointed with the quality and variety of food on offer.
The service and communication was not great.
The price per person / all you can eat concept cannot be justified. As a group we did not eat £20pp worth of food.
For a vegetarian dining at this restaurant, it is very expensive for what you get.
I cannot recommend this restaurant.
Really nice food, i had the Mediterranean wrap which was lovely but could have done with less lettuce and more chicken in the wrap. Lovely tea cakes and super coffee. I sat on the wooden benches around edge of cafe but as with previous person I totally agree even though there are cushions the benches are still very uncomfortable. Very pleasant staff.
My friend always raved about the fab college restaurant and after having lunch with her today here I can see certainly see why.
We had the most fantastic meal with beautiful cooked and presented food .
Seafood Chowder was mouth wateringly good and my desert of Marmalade sponge pudding with Cointreau custard was wow ! .
Fabulous service from Adam who answered all our questions he was friendly and professional . Thank you The Cider Orchard restaurant we will be back for sure .
This restaurant/pub is a regular Sunday afternoon venue for lunch. The food remains of the highest quality and the chefs are a cheerful, friendly and engaging crowd. The bar is staffed by equally friendly people and the regular chap has now been joined by a new team member who is going to be a great addition. While my family and I have our ‘usual’ preferences for food we have, on occasion, chosen different dishes from the varied and interesting menu and they have been a wonderful revelation and demonstrates the excellent skills of the kitchen members. Our next visit can’t happen soon enough!
When we first visited last year (mid 2019) we asked how dog friendly they were - the owner was very helpful, and the response was that we could take our well behaved dog inside to eat, and she - Holly the Collie - also received a sausage. Because of this, and the fact that the freshly cooked food was about the best ever, we returned several times during our time in Kidderminster (working on the SVR), where we - and Holly - were greeted like old friends
Then, due to Covid, we didn't return for several months, but when we did it was like it was a totally different place. Clerly under new ownership, only one of the original staff remained; the dog was not allowed inside (so the tables remained empty throughout our stay); the food was pre-cooked so was, at best, warm - and soon became cold due to being outside; the doggie sausage was no longer offered; the quality of the fish was about the same but the chips had gone from 10/10 down to 3/10 - in fact I left half of mine; the range of sugar & caffeine free drinks had disappeared; and the previous warm welcome was now colder than the food.
I was previously going to mention Comberton Plaice in an article I have draft written for a dog friendly magazine (postponed due to Covid), where my aim was to promote dog friendliness both on and off the Severn Valley Railway, but I think the chances of this chippie being included is now less than zero.
Fair to say that Comberton Plaice ("Friends Comberton Plaice") have seen the last of us.
Lovely welcome from the young lady behind the bar, pub was clean and nicely decorated for Christmas too.
Three beers on hand pulls, so a bit spoiled for choice.
An excellent late afternoon session!
We had a perfect afternoon tea for my mum's 92nd Birthday.
The staff were very welcoming, friendly & helpful. The food was superb as well as being good value.
We will definitely be back again.
