We've been to the Butchers for our Sunday lunch / birthday lunch for our eldest boy's birthday. Absolutely delicious. The boss and I had the creamy garlic mushrooms with Stilton on toasted focaccia while the boy had Thai fishcake with lime mayo. It was all really good then there was beef and all the trimmings, and although the portions were enough to feed more than us, Mum persuaded us to have a pudding. Waffle and ice cream for me profiteroles for the boss. We're currently sat in the garden, belts loosened, contentedly groaning and moaning about eating too much. First class. You need to book but would recommend without reservation.

Terrible disappointment! I saw that pub was reopening and thought it might be nice to Pop in with friends for a drink . The loos smelled awful and the atmosphere was ROUGH - like a working man’s club . Lighting was poor and the whole place looked down at heel . If you’re looking for classy - give this pub a miss . Won’t be back

Poor customer service from what I assume is the manager? A man wearing pink shorts, with grey hair. You’d think considering we were a wake, and had just come from burying our loved one, a smile or compassion may not have gone a miss. Made what was already an sad day even worse having to be told where we should have started our buffet at, being rude about it to members of the wake in the way he spoke to them; rude at the bar, rude outside about the ashtrays, usually I don’t leave reviews but when other members of the party agreed with the rudeness of the man, I felt it needed it be brought to someone’s attention, regardless of who you are, when serving a FUNERAL there’s way to act and ways not too, and the attitude we received was not one.

Popped along to the butchers in the half hour or so before closing in an afternoon. We had tried two other pubs locally (who advertised on their signage and their website that they were open) that were closed. I'm so glad we did. The young lady serving us was lovely, polite and helpful. It was no trouble to order some food even though we were pushing for time. The food was lovely and we will definitely be going again. A note to pubs local to Audley: Update your opening times please!!

went to the Butchers for lunch on Wednesday 8th Septmber. I had the gammon, excellent choice. Not many people know how to cook gammon correctly its usually left cooking and hard. This was lovely as was the presentation and the rest of the meal. All 6 of us had really good food. We go all over North Staffs on a Wednesday and were turned away at another local pub on a hill because they had no food?. Anyway their loss was our gain. Will certainly be going to the Butchers Arms again in the near future.

Visited here off the cuff on Saturday lunch time, just seemed like a regular village pub. However the food here was so good. Proper pub food, with a genuine home cooked vibe. And the service was totally brilliant (Thank you Lucy!). I will definitely come back here the next time I happen to be driving through Audley.

Visited here yesterday and had we both had the steak and ale pie. The pie was just full of meat with a lovely thin crunch pastry. The chips were thick and obviously home made....as was the pie as I asked. Can't fault this place....lovely friendly staff, an all round excellent service. Will visit again!

Take away pie and chips again during lockdown. Thoroughly enjoyed by all. Tender, tasty chunks of steak, light, crumbly pastry, gravy. I would say it can't be faulted, which it can't, but this home made pie is exceptional in taste and quality. Accompanied by home made chunky chips, (no lazy deep fried frozen offerings here!). If you have never sampled their cooking, you are truly missing a delicious treat. We will try the burgers next. The Butchers Arms and it's lovely owners are have brought this now beautiful pub into the heart (and belly) of the village. Can't wait to be able to dine inside again and also enjoy some of the lovely wine, ales and cider on offer too!

My friend and I stopped off here to have dinner whilst in the area after travelling from Manchester. We certainly made a good choice, we sat in the old ‘smoke room’ which had a lovely traditional pub feel and we also noticed the other room was equally as lovely with a modern touch. I had the small fish and chips which was excellent, quality fish and amazing chips, my friend had a steak medium rare that was cooked to perfection (she used to work as a chef at a steakhouse so is quite the connoisseur!) overall great quality food 10/10 We loved the food and atmosphere, we met the owner (sorry I forgot your name!) who was a superb host and made us feel very welcome considering we were in an area we have never been, he gave us information leaflets and we have decided to return to Audley and do one of the walks from the leaflet (Wedgewoods monument walk) and we will be certain to visit the Butchers Arms on our returning visit. Many thanks

Outside beer garden was also available We took up the Wednesday offer for Burger and pint for £9.95 and it was fantastic. The burger was handmade and very juicy and chips were fab as always. Reopened and refurbished in last year, owners and staff run a friendly, smart and welcoming pub. Food and drinks well priced, portions generous & high quality. Would highly recommend. There are printed flyers in the bar detailing historical walks around the locality, terminating at The Butchers. Closed on Monday, often a good sign of attention to detail.

I grew up in Audley & love the appearance of the outside of this pub, but when i last visited @ 4 years ago, we were served burnt, tastleless food by rude staff and the place was dirty & tatty. I rated it 1 because i couldn't give it 0. Well, i visited again now it has new owners & WOW! - the inside is now as lovely as the outside. A lovely welcoming place, all loved and cared for again, you just wouldn't think it was the same pub. Beautifully decorated, soft sofa's, real fire, sparkling clean, friendly staff, nice wine. We didn't order any food ourselves, but saw what was served to other customers & it looked & smelt very tasty, so we will be back. Instantly on my favourite pubs list now!

I am a very fussy vegetarian and have great difficulty eating out. However at this pub not only are the staff friendly but the chef has respect for any quirky requests and certainly knows how to cook it. I have travelled far and wide trying various venues but this is on my doorstep and provides food better than I can cook myself. I am more than impressed and will certainly be a regular visitor here! I highly recommend and you won't be disappointed!

This pub used to serve great food and ales. Sadly it started to let the wrong clientele in and it ended up closing then opening several times. This pub needs someone to drag it into the 21st century. Good food is what people go to pubs for nowadays without that it will not work. Pie nights on a thursday at the butchers used to be full. You had to book to get in!! Sad to see such a great building not in use, the village needs it open with the right clientele it can be good again.

My wife and I had a brilliant night last night at the club, it was a Soul and Motown themed night, the DJ played great music and the place was sold out, we pre booked the food, which was simple but absolutely delicious, one of the best sirloin steaks I’ve had in a long time anywhere I think the club itself has been on a knife edge for a few years now but I think these themed nights will be it’s saviour and a priority is marketing and selling to younger generations, if I was to hazard a guess last nights average age would be 60 - 70 and we won’t live forever !

We booked a room for an event, the room itself was fantastic, the bathroom however was a different story! My girlfriend was in the shower and was then asked if she could stop due to it leaking into the pub downstairs, she still had conditioner in her hair. After about 15 minutes I enquired with the barman (who was very pleasant and stuck in a situation that wasn't his fault) he explained that he couldn't get through to the manager and to let my girlfriend just use the shower to continue to clean her hair. He also explained the since they had no more rooms we were unable to switch. Whilst my girlfriend was in the shower the shower handle came off. Along with the issues with the shower the toilet also leaked from the base. We waited until we had to leave to see someone but upon leaving still saw nobody to resolve the issue!

The restaurant was in a really nice area. I came here with my family and we all really enjoyed our food. The roast dinners were especially nice. I love the fact that this restaurant was dog friendly and the decorations are stunning. Very warm feeling. However, the waiting times were a bit too long. It took forty minutes for our main meal to arrive and twenty for desserts. I appreciate the time of year but I think it is just something to improve on because the rest of our experience was brilliant. Definitely recommend and will be coming back.
