We spotted the sign for this on the drive through, so after visiting the castle, walked back to find it. So glad we did. We had the platter to share, not a single thing could be faulted. Service was excellent. We loved the look of the cakes but were just so full, so purchased 2 to take home for later that day. Really sad I forgot to leave a tip, too busy chatting to the staff & looking around so much to see, even a gin distillery. We will be back.

It was a busy day in Dunster and many of the pubs fully booked but this was a fantastic find so I’m glad that was the case! Relaxed cafe atmosphere and a warm welcome in this converted chapel. We opted for the sharing platter and noodles with crispy pork - all exquisitely cooked and therefore hugely enjoyable. A cream tea was a must (it was Christmas afterall) - and delighted the scones came warm with a generous helping of clotted cream. Tea served in quaint old fashioned tea cups with a teapot. Also a fabulous selection of gins including output of the on site distillery- and samples were generously offered. A very reasonably priced lunch - just over £50 for 3 main meals, 3 soft drinks, 2 cream teas and a coffee. So both an absolute find and great value for money. We will definitely return.

Such a cute place and amazing dishes. To start with we had scallops and asparagus , then we went with their seafood pasta, tuna, sea-bass and lamb. To close it off, the orange and chocolate cheesecake + the rhubarb creme brûlée were stunning. Staff were super nice and friendly. I’d come back many times if possible, specially around Christmas time.

A pretty building in a pretty village. And the best rated tearoom apparently. This can only lead one to come to the sad conclusion that one is in an old-fashioned tourist trap. Sandwiches at £11 plus should always be a warning. But when they come out looking like something you could get at the next town along for half the price, your heart will sink and your wallet groan. The savoury cream tea we had didn't fare any better. Instead of a quality cheddar, expect cream cheese. The chutney is likewise lacklustre, sporting a vinegary tone, The scone is just bland. Oh, and stick to the local Costa for your coffee. Unless you favour coffee- flavoured foam.

I drank at the lion inn for a couple of years and was constantly harassed by the local idiot. One evening the local idiot threatened and attacked me as l tried to leave,, avoid this pub at all costs !

Lovely old pub but lunch was a bit of a mixed bag. Sardine starter was a bit dry but the bread was excellent. I enjoyed my meal of well cooked roast belly pork but my partner's Chicken pie was straight out of a supermarket aluminium tin and he was very disappointed.

We popped in on a rainy day and were shown to a choice of tables. Our order was taken and the food (a sandwich, a baguette and cheesy chips) arrived quite quickly. Everything was really tasty, the service was friendly and we really enjoyed our lunch.
