We spotted the sign for this on the drive through, so after visiting the castle, walked back to find it. So glad we did. We had the platter to share, not a single thing could be faulted. Service was excellent. We loved the look of the cakes but were just so full, so purchased 2 to take home for later that day. Really sad I forgot to leave a tip, too busy chatting to the staff & looking around so much to see, even a gin distillery. We will be back.

It was an absolute delight to eat here. Even my 2 fussy children enjoyed it. The fried rice and King Prawn Thai curry was fantastic. My 8 year old had the Noodles equivalent and loved it too. Definitely will return if we are in the area.

Now called Born Appetite, we had a fantastic Asian sharing platter for 2 for lunch with a great selection and lovely sauces. It made a lovely change to the usual sandwich or pasty. A lovely selection of cakes as well as a cream tea is also available. It is also the home of Dunster Gin and they stock a large variety of gins and rums and offer samples for tasting. Highly recommend.

We’ve just had a week’s stay in Dunster and ate at Born Appetit on about 4 occasions. The food was excellent! In addition to the usual tearoom favourites there was also a separate vegan menu and a selection of Filipino/Thai dishes. Mia, Spencer and all their staff are so friendly and recommended local days out. They also have a great range of gins to taste and buy. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

Came in when visiting Dunster and it was lovely. The staff managed to move a table to fit six of us, the food was VERY quick and we left a tip! The shop itself is very unique and had a large selection of gin, with a little tasting station. My mum has quite a few dietary requirements but was able to order easily as many items on the menu already catered to this, as well as there being a separate menu for GF and vegan options. Will be coming back when we are in the area again :)

Now called BORN APPETIT and quite frankly one of the most well run, cleanest and most friendly place we have visited in many moons! Worth finding! The staff and atmosphere was simply delightful. The decor fun, interesting and an eclectic mix - go see for yourself. Child and dog friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. So, we had cream teas followed by gin tasting! Yes really! There is a small gift shop in half of the restaurant and you can taste locally sourced gin and rum, super idea! The food prices were by far the best in the village and we saw it freshly cooked for visitors who ordered specials of the day. There is lots of choice to eat and rest up,in this small village, so very pleased we read tripadvisor reviews first and found this place. Will return again and thoroughly recommend.

The photos here look completely different to what it is now. It’s also now named ‘Born’. They sell exquisite gin and let you sample pretty much as many as you like. The menu is Filipino food, and we ordered King Prawns with egg noodles. The food was unbelievable! So fresh, and almost citrusy. A substantial piping hot meal. So different from the sandwiches and pub food you’d find anywhere else in Dunster. Truly one of a kind and the chef clearly takes pride in her work. There’s little wonder why. I wanted a really tasty, homemade, traditional afternoon tea as a Christmas treat for a group of guests who might be old in years but definitely young at heart. I was not disappointed. We enjoyed a lovely selection of finger sandwiches, really tasty cheese scones topped with oodles of smoked salmon, mini mince pies -(well it was for Christmas after all), gooey chocolate brownies and the lightest and fluffiest of scones with lashings of clotted cream and strawberry jam. Everything was home-made and served with great aplomb in mis-matched bone china which just added to the theme of a vintage Christmas tea party. Jonny and Gareth (the owners) made a point of asking if any of my guests had any allergies or dietary needs and when I mentioned that a couple were vegetarian another plate appeared with a few extra veggie specials. These chaps know how to look after you and are genuinely interested in the wishes of their clientele, nothing is too much trouble. Thank you so much from all of us, it was a really special afternoon.

Jonny and Gareth are the owners of this gem situated in Dunster, close to Dunster Castle. The best hot chocolate I think I have ever tasted, and a really yummy menu from which to choose. And comfortable chairs and sofas! Definitely a good place to visit and we will return.

Unusual features abound in this cafe! Different chairs, maps as table covers (under perspect) There was no matched crockery, and that added to atmosphere of the place. We had some very tasty savoury scones as a base for a lunch time snack. I had the smoked salmon option, and it was a delight to eat! As advised by my friends (who use this place regularly for lunch) one of the owners actually served us, and we were greeted very warmly! Very unusual bathroom facilities here! A veritable throne room! Velvet feathers and sparkle

Been here recently with my friend and just myself. Great coffee. Quiche was delicious. The warm friendly service along with tasty food at a good price is why it's kept busy and gets thoroughly recommended.

Very good quick service very obliging pushed two tables together To accommodate us, dogs allowed at the rear of the cafe. Two beautiful fresh warm scones and coffee £4.75, all three of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Ecclectic vintage tableware but quirky in a good way.

Stopped here for lunch and a wander around Dunster. Great menu for a tea room - the usual choices plus a few more. I had pea and watercress soup with a giant local cheese and chutney sandwich and hubby had beans and chorizo on sourdough. Would have loved a homemade cake too but I was full!

We stopped here, as the reviews on TripAdvisor were so good and we were not disappointed. We had the homemade quiche with salad and the homemade chicken pie with mash. Really tasty and good value homemade food, which is what we like. We would definitely go again. Our only criticism is that the lattes were very strong and the puddings were not homemade, but don't let this put you off, you must visit, as this is just our view and what we would personally prefer. They have a fantastic choice of homemade cakes and the staff are very helpful.

The exterior has been nicely redecorated. The interior has been refreshed and expanded and now has about 55 covers and still has the excellent craft / gift / gin shop (note that many of the gins are on tasting - if they aren't too busy). The rather chilly outside loo has now been bought inside, with mega stylish decor. Still a similar interesting menu with excellent quiches, cheese scone / savoury combos, fabulous smoked mackerel pate and the like; their cakes are legendary ... all very reasonably priced. Wonderful drinks menu especially the alcohol - cheap G&Ts;, bottles of great English sparkling for the off licence price. The decor, cruets, mismatched crockery are quirkiness at the best. Cannot recommend highly enough

Wow. This place is great. Lovely staff and great food. A hidden gem. We had an afternoon tea which was just amazing. And our daughter enjoyed her chocolate brownie and crumpets. Definitely worth a visit here if you visit Dunster Castle.

We came with our two young daughters, one and six, for an early lunch, and had a wonderful experience. The woman who served us was so friendly and accommodating, and brought our food promptly. The food was really tasty and we polished it off. The cafe is bright, vibrant and convivial. To top it off after we’d walked up to Dunster Castle, one of the team had run all the way up the hill to return our daughter’s doll, which she’d left behind. He made her one very happy girl!

Amanda did all the catering for my birthday celebrations in Woolavington, Bridgwater, and she really did me proud. Amanda guided me towards an easily managed menu suitable for all ages ranging from 2 to 95 years. It worked perfectly. Friday night's hot meal on was followed the next day by a hot buffet (chicken provencal, cottage pie and dauphinoise potatoes), salads, a wonderful lemon meringue pie, huge chocolate cake, breads, sausage rolls, large quiche and much more. The really generous portions fed 20 adults and 6 children with left overs. The food was much-praised with the outstanding comment came from one young granddaughter who can be rather choosy. Having asked who made the cottage pie she declared it to be the best she had ever had - praise indeed. I would not hesitate to recommend Amanda and her catering. Thank you.

First time using bapmobile since it changed hands, absolutely fantastic service and the food was amazing. I called them up to place my order, I was told to make my way down in 10/15 minutes. When I arrived the food was pretty much ready. The lad that served me was very polite. The food was absolutely beautiful, I had the cheese and bacon burger with onions. Food was piping hot and was to die for. I for sure can definitely recommend bapmobile.I will 100% be using bapmobile in the very near future. We'll done mate keep doing what you are doing 👍

What a find!! Can not recommend this Tea Room highly enough. We’ve had lots of cream teas over the years, but Bramdowns is the best ever. The homemade scones were amazing. The service was first class and so friendly. The decor and the crockery are lovely, also with the music in the background you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Thoroughly enjoyed it, so much more than just a cream tea. Long May you continue, Ladies. Next time we’re passing by Porlock, Bramdowns, is a definite stop off.

We stopped here for breakfast on the way to Lynmouth and what a breakfast it was. We had the small breakfast which consisted of egg, bacon, sausage, tomato and beans which were thoughtfully served in a ramekin dish rather than the sauce running wild all over the plate. Everything was yummy and cooked to perfection. It would have been a ....sin to leave without tasting one of the cakes in display at the counter and so we did and I believe it was a carrot cake which was delicious (soft, moist and tasty). The coffee was good too. The staff were very welcoming, the place was beautifully decorated and spotless and so were the toilets

Great cafe in the heart of Dulverton offering a good selection of food and cakes. Would recommend booking a table at peek times.
