Exceptional food, fine dining experience. We went for an evening meal with our baby. Kasia was so welcoming and friendly, she made us feel at ease throughout. There is a set 4 course menu with a great selection of dishes. My favourite, the French Goats Cheese starter is a must try. We ordered the pork chop and fish for our mains. I would highly recommend.

A varied menu and the food was delicious with the service friendly and impeccable. It is a small restaurant, beautifully decorated and maintained with a high class feel and ambience. There were 5 of us and all sang its praises. Very high recommendation. You will be surprised that a very high class restaurant is hidden away in Dunster.

Five Stars is not enough to rate this awesome cozy restaurant in the lovely village of Dunster. Excellent service, excellent menu, excellent wine and excellent atmosphere. If you are in the area don’t hesitate. It’s a must.

Hathaway's of Dunster is run by a charming couple, Sandro & Kasia, who were very warm and friendly. There are a very limited number of covers (4) so do book. Excellent home made food with an Italian twist. But beware, this is only a 4 course meal, so you need a healthy appetite! However, good value at £44 per person.

What an amazing place! Great food! And very good service! It is very small (only 10 covers) and they only serve one 4-course menu with a few options per course. But that is the power of a good restaurant. Be convinced of your concept and your quality, and live up to it. Sandro and Kaisa certainly do! We would love to come back to this lovely restaurant.

We visited Hathaways restaurant for my birthday and enjoyed a fabulous 4 course meal. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The menu is a set price and very good value, we also enjoyed traditional Bellinis as an aperitif. The restaurant is very small but has a lovely atmosphere for a special evening out. What a fabulous place, small and personal but an amazing space and Sandro's food is fantastic. Kasia's service is examplary and the wine list is also small but excellent. Superb value too. It just shows that a limited menu means you can showcase the best local produce.

We had a family meal here to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday and it was a fabulous evening. It is a lovely little restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere and serves a 4 course fixed menu, the food was superb. Would highly recommend.

An absolute local gem! This place is high end dining in a cosy small front room, only 10 seats. This in my opinion only adds to the charm. You have to make sure to book potentially well in advance due to it being only having 10 covers but boy is it worth waiting for! We actually managed to book a table only 2 days in advance so it can be done but don't take for granted that there will be a table available, always book well in advance if you want to guarantee a table normally. The owners are a husband and wife team, the husband is the chef and everything we ate was delicious! The wife is so welcoming and great with the table service. We felt very well looked after and enjoyed a very delightful night out at this "bijoux" little restaurant. Thank you Hathaways for a wonderful birthday dinner out!

Charming gem in a delightful Medieval village, Hathaways is a small intimate restaurant. Sandro is out back cooking and Kasia is out front so just the two of them. We last visited 5 years ago so we were delighted that theyd weathered the lock down. Food was again beautifully cooked and imaginative. Only 4 or 5 tables and dinner only weekdays so best book.

Our meal here exceeded expectations. Small but prettily decorated dining room, subtle lighting, and genuinely friendly welcome from the owner/FOH manager. It’s a very small restaurant, with a lovely ambience, friendly but also very professional. The menu is good mixture of meat fish and vegetarian, with a special option. As a party of four we had different mains. Everything was fresh and full of flavour with our highlight being the porcini mushroom and truffle ravioli it was outstanding. Hathaway’s restaurant is reason to visit Dunster. Highly recommended.

We have stayed in Dunster on many, many occasions. Thank goodness we have at long last discovered Hathaways. Absolutely gorgeous menu, service and cooking resulting in the best three course meal we have enjoyed for a very long time. Warm, welcoming and a relaxed atmosphere. A delightful small restaurant producing super food and providing excellent service. On a recent stay at Old Cleeve we drove the short distance into Dunster and enjoyed two wonderful evenings there. Small and intimate, a reasonably priced menu and a excellent wine list to satisfy any taste. I cannot recommend this lovely restaurant more highly. To avoid disappointment make sure you book and don’t miss it if you’re staying in the area!

We've been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years and always have an amazing meal, Sandro is a very talented chef. Everything is cooked freshly cooked using high quality fresh ingredients. Kasia is front of house and is brilliant at what she does, very friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble. This is a cosy, romantic, beautiful small restaurant and booking is highly recommended. Try it it's amazing.

Amazing meal at this small gem of a restaurant. Service was excellent, efficient and friendly and the food is delicious and interesting. They do a set price depending on whether you have 2 or 3 courses which for the quality and ambience was very good value. Booking essential as only small dining room which adds to its charm. A must when visiting the area, worth a drive if staying further afield!

Hathaways is run by Sandro and his wife Kasia. Sandro the chef and Kasia front of house. Their restaurant only has 10 covers so the service is very personal. The food here is absolutely wonderful! It’s a fantastic experience and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to have authentic Italian cuisine that is actually brought out to the table by the chef! It’s served with such passion for good quality food and love. For me such a privilege to have experienced. It really is unique and very special indeed.

I booked last minute however I was told they were full, an hour later I received a call saying that they had a cancellation, excellent. So pleased , the pasta starter was gorgeous followed by a pork chop and apple. A bottle of Malbec superb Highly recommended

We booked for Saturday night, to celeb our Wedding Anniversary, we arrived to a warm greeting and shown to a table.Ordered drinks, good variety of soft drinks, as we where not drinking. Ordered grilled mackerel and buffalo mozzarella as starters, very tasty and well presented, then we had steak and sea bream for mains. All was served hot, how I like my food and was very good.Panacotta and Pavlova for dessert, both lovely and tasty. It is a small establishment, with not many tables which makes for a more intimate setting. We were well looked after by Kasia, who manages the front of house on her own.I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and would not hesitate to visit again but unfortunately we live too far away!

Booked a table several days in advance due to it's popularity & SO glad we did.Helpful, personal & accommodating right from the start.The warm goats cheese, bruschetta & melon starter was sublime followed by an equally excellent free range Somerset pork chop in cider & wholegrain honey & apple. The buffalo mozzarella & tomato starter was something special & the sea bass main delicious (my wife even ate the skin which is normally unheard of). Amazing coffee with a truffle & amaretti biscuit to finish (as we couldn't manage desert). Presentation impeccable. Fantastic value & truly a meal that will not be forgotten easily. Outstanding experience!

Arrived late without a booking, andthe kitchen about to close, but they fitting us in with wonderful personal service, which would in itself prompt a positive review.But in addition, the food itself was truly excellent. We visited Hathaways recently for the first time, and we were so impressed with this restaurant that I felt I had to leave a review. We were warmly greeted by name by Kasia upon arrival, and asked to use hand sanitiser before entering the restaurant and being shown to our table. We felt covid safe during our visit, and yet we actually felt relaxed like we would have done going to a restaurant before lock down, so that was really nice. Nothing was too much trouble for Kasia, she was very attentive, polite and friendly. The presentation of the food was outstanding, and our meals were so delicious and fresh, absolutely gorgeous meals. The atmosphere is very relaxing and intimate at this restaurant, and you are made to feel at home straight away. Thank you Kasia and Sandro for a fantastic evening, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals, they are the best we have eaten for a very long time.

This restaurant reminded me of somewhere my dad would have taken my mum years ago. It’s small but in a really good way. Intimate and romantic, perfect for our anniversary dinner my husband had booked. The table had been set with flower petals and hearts and Kasa was the perfect host.The food was superb, beautifully presented and so good. Amazing! This place is a hidden gem!!!!

Just had a wonderful 70th birthday dinner with my close family (13 of us including 3 under 4years old) . Great food, a lovely ambience and super service from lovely people - thank you Kasia and Sandro - who gave up a Sunday evening to give us exclusive use of their super restaurant.
