A lovely 4 night stay in the Porlock Weir Hotel. Stunning views, great rooms and very helpful staff. So nice just to watch the world go by while watching the boats in the harbour and the resident Kingfisher.

This is a hidden gem in Porlock Weir and not to be missed if you are a seafood fan. The Oysters were as one would expect sublime.

Amazing place. Food was fab - fresh oysters which we witnessed coming in straight from the sea! You can’t get fresher than that! Service was also top rate - so friendly and polite. Doggo friendly which was great and they even went above and beyond to return a pair of sunglasses that one of us left behind. I’m also thought it was good value for money. Would definitely recommend 👌🏻🥰

The most deliciously fresh and flavour-filled pizzas cooked to order at the delightful outdoor bar and grill. The Exmoor Garlic Pizza is a winner! With beautiful views of Porlock Weir what’s not to love about this perfect lunch spot?

High quality fresh seafood served both in and outside. If you like oysters the place to go but also serving other fish dishes including “ fish & chips” Cindy and serving team very friendly and efficient not withstanding changeable weather

Truly exceptional. Delicious! You haven't lived unless you've had an oyster meal like ours in Porlock Weir. What more can I say?

I took my partner here for lunch on his 50th birthday on Saturday. It didn't start out well as it did take a long time to order and our food still hadn't arrived after an hour. I could tell that there was an issue with the ordering and payments and spoke to the lovely waiter and waitress. I said that we would have to leave and that I would just pay for our drinks. They couldn't have been more sorry and said that the Oysters were ready but I could take them away as we had to be at a surprise party in 10 mins. The Oysters were utterly fabulous. I've never had such an awesome selection of oysters and the location is utterly beautiful. We were given our food for free due to the wait but I was very happy to pay for it. This place is unreal and as long as they sort out the ordering/payments it really is the best place locally. They do other dishes apart from Oysters and bread/olives and very tasty parmesan and truffle fries. Thanks to everyone there who helped make our day special

One of those locations that takes you away from reality...takes you back to when life was simple. Chill and read a book whilst listening to the waves lapping against the shoreline, drink a glass of wine and watch the sun go down over the picturesque Harbour...or get up early and catch a beautiful sunrise. A well run hotel with a great team who look after you. Comfy beds and great room service. Superb breakfast, and great food in the restaurant. Im pretty sure we will be back as we had a memorable week here for all the right reasons 👌🥂

Not great service or welcome. We spoke to someone earlier today to ask for a reservation, only to be told they do not take reservations on a Sunday evening. We turned up, after paying for parking which was an extra annoying inconvenience (especially only to be turned away) The attendant on the front desk wasn't helpful, stating that we could only have a table if we had a reservation. Or sit outside, which on a cold Sunday evening isn't an option. Someone had clearly got their wires crossed, which wasn't our fault. But this led to our disappointment and lack of dining options.

Lovely food, but very expensive, I had the seafood platter (£30) which was excellent, and my wife and friend had the fish and chips (£17). Not much atmosphere in the place, but staff were pleasant.

We had a very warm welcome & excellent stay at the Porlock Weir Hotel - staff were great, too. The room would get a higher rating if there were more hanging space for our clothes (maybe a hanging rail on castors, that could tuck into a corner of the room?)

Spent a few hours with a friend sipping tea and eating cake. Lovely location. The staff were thoughtful and attentive. Thoroughly enjoyable time in a lovely comfortable lounge area.

Turned up unannounced just before they stopped serving lunch and the staff were very accommodating and we're happy for us to stay for lunch - glad we did as it was tasty food and lovely wine

Lovely place to go in the summer to sit outside sharing a fish platter and wood fired pizza. Especially enjoyed the oysters.

Lovely hotel, great food calm and caring. Family style hotel. Would go again. Not a five star rating as service was inconsistent between the two days we stayed there. Maybe first day's service was above and beyond!

An amazing evening with the best freshly cooked seafood cooked to perfection and with service that went above and beyond our expectations. Beautiful atmosphere with soft lighting both inside and out and great ceiling heaters to keep us all lovely and warm. Absolutely thrilled as were my 20 guests. Am booking again for May.

This is a beautiful little restaurant with fantastic seafood and lovely staff. Extremely welcoming reception and suitable for dogs and muddy boots. Highly recommend for everyone!

What a fabulous hotel. The room was lovely with a fantastic sea view. Everything clean and tidy. The staff couldn't do enough for you, so friendly and polite. The breakfast was delicious and the location second to none. A fantastic few days.

What a fantastic place to say. The welcome is warming all of the staff are very helpful and friendly, The food is first class. This is a dog friendly hotel with great walks arround the area. Highly recommended we are here on a three night stay great value for money. Thanks to all the staff. Nick.

First time visit for us and we will definitely be returning! Very friendly, jolly and knowledgable staff and absolutely amazing food. We can't remember ever eating better quality oysters & mussels and that coupled with a chef who is obviously passionate and knows his game very well made for an amazing dining experience. We also tried the gurnard fish and chips, which again were amazing. Afterwards the chef was very happy to show us around his kitchen and the shed where the oyster filtration tanks are kept, this was a fantastic experience in itself! We cannot recommend Porlock Bay Oysters enough and would strongly advise a visit before the secret gets out and you can't book a table for weeks or even months. It really is that good!

If you like seafood, and especially oysters, then this place is a must! The staff are lovely, the chef is a joy and the food is an absolute delight. This really is a very very special place and the food is simply superb and at very reasonable prices. I cannot praise it highly enough. We drove quite a way to get to it and I already know we will be making that journey a lot more often in the future! Simply sublime!

I phoned this morning 20/12/23 tobook a table for this lunchtime and wow what a lunch , I was accompanied by my wife and we could also took our dog , so that was an added bonus . We were warmly greeted on our arrival and given some snacks ( on the house ) dog given chews and bowl of water ,I decided on a warm and cold platter of mixed oysters and a bowl of fries my wife had prawns and fries all perfectly prepared and presented and fantastically fresh and tasted superb ( the best oysters I’ve ever eaten )and I’ve had them around the uk and various places around the world! You MUST give this place a try it’s that good we have booked two other dates for next year

As a family of 10 we descended on the team at the Porlock Weir Hotel last weekend for my Dad's 80th birthday celebrations. Communication prior to the weekend was effortless, with all our queries being answered swiftly. We all stayed over on Friday and Saturday, the rooms were comfortable with high quality mattresses, the attention to detail was exceptional and we all slept very well. Our meals were out of this world and the three course meal on Saturday night for 15 of us could not have been more perfect with every taste and requirement catered for. Michell, Miguel and all the team could not have done enough for us, they have a fantastic attention to detail and nothing is too much trouble.

Cindy and team are super welcoming and the oysters are wonderful. Recommend a lunch stop here and get a variety of cooked oysters.

We had an absolutely fabulous dinner at The Kitchen last night and would urge you to go if you like fantastic food in a lovely intimate setting! Fab local drinks menu, great selection of seafood dishes and everything was presented beautifully and tasted divine. We went for my husband’s birthday dinner and will definitely be back when we next stay in Porlock. We actually said over dinner that we fully expect to see the restaurant on a foodie TV show soon! Thanks guys for a wonderful meal

Just go. You will be so glad you did. Delightful seafood and stunning drinks. By the beach. Ahhhhhh. I expected butterfly fillets but the whole sardines arrived and were a fabulous treat. I did add a little lemon. Frites hit the spot and the chunky Red Mullet with Freshly made salsa danced on the tongue. Nothing lasted long but I made time for a couple of glasses of the chefs recommended French sparkling. Half a dozen oysters as a starter with the classic shallots, lemon and tobasco. I didn't need pudding. This place will be rammed by Christmas. Go now before everyone else catches on.

We decided to skip a pub lunch in favour of scallops and fish and chips in The Kitchen and we weren’t disappointed. The seafood was incredibly fresh and very well cooked, the locally sourced drinks were great and the staff were both super friendly and efficient. We’ll definitely be back!

The most delicious oyster menu you’ve ever seen in the most beautiful surroundings! Friendly service. Mouth watering cold dressed oysters and some delicious hot food options were absolutely divine! We are currently visiting for a second time ❤️‍🔥

We walked the dog through the rain from Porlock to Porlock Weir, knowing that at walks end we would be able to find some food at the Weir. What we didn’t expect, was to stumble across this amazing seafood kitchen. The menu was short but sublime. Everything freshly cooked, to perfection. We had mussels with chips, and a haddock gratin. Fabulous! What a welcoming and hospitable place. A small attractive indoor eating area, simple, clean, comfortable. Dog friendly too. We shall most definitely return. Thank you!

Don't expect any food between 2. 30 pm and 6pm. Go to the Coffee house instead. A good selection of food at good prices. Friendly staff and excellent food.

Sam and his team have a seriously good business going on here. You can search the entire Somerset coast and beyond but you will struggle to find anything approaching the quality of seafood on offer at lunchtime as we found this last Wednesday. From the excellent potted crab, through oysters both traditional and fried, every mouthful of the starters was sublime. As for the scallops! Our friends also tried a fabulously fresh mackerel with beetroot, pickle and wasabi Mayo, with a great helping of mussels and frites. Not only was everything as fresh as you could wish for, the accompanying sauces, and flavours were as good as anything we have tried at Michelin standard restaurants. Do not miss this treat…

Fantastic food in an amazing location! Porlock bay oysters (cooked?) and eaten at Porlock Weir - what could be better, or fresher. Staff are so enthusiastic and amazing - nothing is too much trouble and they really care about what they do. We had a variety of perfectly cooked oysters, served in a treasure trove of different ways - and absolutely loved it. Definitely a hidden gem at present, but that will undoubtedly change as they become more well known. We can't wait to go back.

Calling in for fresh oysters,by the sea, hand prepared by an amazing team is an experience I will never forget for all the right reasons. It may be small but the service was impeccable. You genuinely felt part of something that was cared about. I suggest you get there before it gets too popular. Which there is no doubt it will. It is too good not to.

Delicious food sitting outside the hotel today. Particularly yummy garlic pesto. Throughly relaxing location. One of us left our phone on the table which was kindly retrieved by staff and now happily reunited with it’s owner.
