The best restaurants in Buckland Monachorum West Devon South West

We probably would not have found this had it not been that we were staying with family in Cornwall and they have been before. The drive is challenging to say the least but well-worth the effort as the food is superb and well-presented and staff are charming and helpful. I particularly liked the fact that my veggie roast was served with all the trimmings that the others had with their Sunday roast (except for the meat gravy!).

We had a lovely dinner in a lovely traditional warm and cosy country restaurant/pub. (Wood burners were just what was required on cold night). Incredible food and great ambiance, we’ll be definitely coming back. Nothing was too much and food was amazing. Would not hesitate to recommend I only review after a few times and previous visits were equally as good.

A must for any walker/runner/cyclist on Drake’s trail. Dog friendly. Excellent selection of sweet & savoury treats including the legendary cinnamon swirls. Good choice of tea, coffee & hot chocolate up to 100%. Hot chocolate is served hot - none of this Health & Safety lukewarm & totally unsatisfying offering. Very popular - only drawback is there are no customer toilets.

My mother and I visited Beau for coffee and cake. My mother walks with a frame and the level entrance was easy to navigate. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed admiring the array of stylish hats while we enjoyed a warming cappuccino. This is a lovely place to visit for refreshments, quality outfits or both!

Overpriced. Food can be quite sickly.

Fast friendly service but the roast dinner was not good, the meal was VERY overpriced and poor quality, we will not go again.

Had a roast today, really nice, proper potatoes roasted and nice pork, others in the party had burgers and enjoyed them. Wasn’t offered carrots or cauliflower cheers (extra charge) table wasn’t laid up even though we booked, Staff were very nice but bar staff seemed very busy and you could feel the stress as soon as we turned up, One thing I’d ask the owners, put yourself in our position and sit in those small uncomfortable straw like chair and an hour in a table that’s not big enough for 4 people, I could not even get my legs in let alone be seated comfortably, I had to wait till the table behind left to get up and out to let blood revitalise my legs. Nice roast but until seating is sorted I’ll not be back and that’s a shame as your food is lovely.

This is my 1st visit and I will be back again. Fabulous food and a great variety of choice. Staff are very friendly and the restaurant was spotlessly clean.

Went for tea and coffee and served by lovely young lady called Anna who looked after us well and was so polite ansld welcoming

I loved sitting in the cosy tearoom and looking at the artefacts.The owners were friendly and very nice I would recommend going there.I am sure to come back soon.😃
