We probably would not have found this had it not been that we were staying with family in Cornwall and they have been before. The drive is challenging to say the least but well-worth the effort as the food is superb and well-presented and staff are charming and helpful. I particularly liked the fact that my veggie roast was served with all the trimmings that the others had with their Sunday roast (except for the meat gravy!).

Called in for lunch whilst on holiday, made very welcome so booked for 2 evening meals. Menu quite short but unusual twist to some dishes , we both had Catch of the Day, which was delicious & very unusual, on sauté potatoes in a tasty sauce. Portions are generous & so we did not have a starter &!only managed a dessert between us. There is also a comprehensive wine list within a good price range. Service not quite so good on our 2nd Dinner but otherwise would thoroughly recommend this Pub on all counts, so nice to have “ proper tasty food” rather than the “ everything with chips” offered in many places.

What a great place - I stayed in the super king room - a converted barn with all the comfortable quirks you would expect. And the king size bed is the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Big gravity walk in shower plus all the comforts of a premium hotel The team are fantastic, really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Food was superb too - I travel a lot for business and this is one of those places that tops the table - great work

What a find. This lovely 16th century inn sitting a tiny Devon village about 20 minutes south of Tavistock is a gem. Matt and his staff are very attentive and the accommodation and food are superb. We chose this inn as members of our family were spending a holiday in nearby Bere Alston staying in a cottage. The story goes that the first landlord back in the 16th century applied for a licence to serve alcohol but his application was rejected. He tried again and was so surprised and excited that he stood in the doorway and shouted who’d have thought it - the rest is history!

This 16th Century Inn is one of the hidden gems on Dartmoor, not far from Yelverton. The service is excellent and the interior very cosy. They provide free wifi and, as the title suggests, serve the best "bacon sarnie" we have ever tasted. Thoroughly recommend this place for lunch and/or dinner.

On arriving in Chagford, which is lovely by the way, we checked reviews and decided on the Old Forge. Staff were very friendly and efficient. We both enjoyed our sandwiches, especially my fish finger

As foodies we were looking forward to trying this bakery as it has such consistently good reviews, the sandwich we had was freshly made on their very tasty sourdough, the cheese had a nice bite but ov
