An absolutely amazing bakery. The food is off the chart, great prices and fantastic, very friendly service.

Superb little bakery serving fresh bread, delicious pasties, scrumptious cakes and other delicacies.

By far the best bakery in Tavistock but it's a secret that only true local Tavy people know about. Pasties are off the scale and nearly make up for the fact that technically they're meat parcels as not from Cornwall. Best meal deal in the world that includes a large pasty, Burts crisps and a can of fizzy pop for a £5.

The steak pasties are terrific, perfect pastry, plenty of succulent steak and veg, the best in town. The breads and sweets are delicious, too. We stop in every time we visit Tavistock for some great food at excellent prices.

Had my first pasty from Kings Street bakery today. Very good, lots of meat and seasoned well. Worth the cycle ride from Coypool.

Best bakery in Tavistock and probably for a good few miles. Pasties are best in southwest, and all the other products are faultless. My only complaint is that they shut on Mondays, but I’ll let it slide so they can rest and start the week again making great gear.

Easily the best bakery in the whole of the south west. Pasties are delightfully seasoned and perfectly crisp. Great service and incredibly cheap for the quality and size (doughnut 75p). Thank you for opening this brilliant bakery!!

Superb granary loaf, amazing depth of flavour but not doughy. light and really tasty. Eccles cake was excellent too. Thoroughly recommended.

Wow this is a gem in a small street in Tavistock, we came all the way from Plymouth for a fresh loaf and came away with pasties which were out of this world, macaroons were Mmmm, scones were so light and the best I've tasted and two uncut loafs 1 granery and soft white were sublime and could have been a lot more 😀 every thing was so fresh and tasty. Will be back real soon and everyone should pop in and enjoy the friendly service.

Excellent bread, super yummy cakes and "naughties", and as for their jam doughnuts - the best in the world (probably), but remember to bring a wet wipe - so much jam!

What a great little find. Delicious, just like homemade. Only popped in for a scone,I asked did she have any butter? She said no problem,got the young man to butter it for me,no extra charge. We also bought an eccles cake, faultless. By the time we were leaving the queqe was forming,a terrific sign to what a good bakers the locals think of it. 👍

Fab little bakery - excellent seeded loaves and apple cake (completely yum!). Quiches good to - what's not to like!

I popped in earlier today for a snack and thought we'd try a healthier option than a pastie, so opted for quiche lorraine and could not resist whilst I waited for the Mrs to finish work, well I was going to pop back into the shop and say wow damn good, but thought maybe better to give an absolute 5* review on here after completing lunch with one of your Chelsea Buns and a cuppa, will definitely call again quite often

Perfect pasties. Would say delicious to the point we return here every visit to Tavistock. It is small (shop) and closes early, but this little gem makes occasion Cakes, tasty sweets and my favorite, pasties. They take orders. Worth strolling the back Streets to find it. Commended.

Fresh, made on the premises, and a great range of rolls, pastries, bread, pasties and lots more. Really good value, too.

Their seeded bread is Simply the best bread in the west, great texture and full of flavour, also very reasonably priced. Lardy Cake also well worth a try .... only available Fridays and Saturdays.

Tony and the team made a superb cake for a 70th Birthday, everyone at Cake, Bake n Shakes were incredibly helpful, the only down side was they have loads of amazing looking normal cakes that we had no room to eat with our huge birthday cake. If you’re in the area you really need to go and buy and cake.

An unassuming little bakers in a back street of Tavistock. But the most superb products! The freshly baked bread is amazing, but tends to sell out by early afternoon. Try the cherry Bakewells and Custard Tarts - heavenly!

This is a very small unassuming bakery offering the very best products in Tavistock if not in the entire west country. You'll have look hard for it, but it's well worth the effort! Most products are baked fresh every morning, so don't go asking for pasties and pies until about 10 am. However, when you do, you'll find that the wait is well worth it. The bread is excellent and the Cherry Bakewells are to die for.

Anthony makes the greatest pasties !! And the yummiest cakes ,I always get my bread rolls baked goods and his jam doughnuts are better than anywhere else !!

A great LOCAL, NOT MASS PRODUCED bakey in Tavistock. With proper pasties whch are tasty tasty made with great pastry steak pieces, swede potato & onion. I have to pick some up for friends when I go into Tavi from Plymouth. All their other savouries are great too. They have a super selection of different type of cakes from big to small traditional to modern, so of course they're a must when on a pasty run. Have to admit having a soft spot for their fresh bread too. Seek it out as it's tucked away up King street

My daughter came home from work yesterday with a huge black forest gateau for my birthday which she had ordered , and it was gorgeous ! There isn't a lot more to say , you will not be disappointed . Go and have a look

After being let down the night before my sister's 21st birthday on her cake, i contacted cakes bakes n shakes and with a few hours notice them managed to make an amazing cake for us, tasted incredible and looked amazing. Would recommend them too everyone!!!!

Great guys, we like a well done loaf as it freezes better and the first time I phoned them to ask them to save us one it was done immediately. They didn't know who we were or where we came from but did it anyway.

This is Tavistock's best kept secret! An old style bread shop, where everything is cooked on the premises and is consistently delicious.

Not only are the pasties excellent but they made our traditional wedding cake for us. Probably the best wedding cake I have ever had!! Why pay £200/£300 for a wedding cake. Ours was excellent value for money and would highly recommend them for any cake made to order.

You cant go wrong hear, its a little gem tucked away but when you find it you wont be disappointed. The cakes however naughty are extremely tasty.

Best Sandwich in Town Cheap n Filling try the Egg Sandwich its Massive and Great bread and the pastrami it’s awesome. Love it love it love it unfortunately its closed on Mondays DONT MISS IT

Such a great bakery, lovely to have it just down the road from where I work! Sells such a big selection of fresh bakes and yummy lunch ideas at such reasonable prices making it very affordable. Staff always very friendly and helpful, if I'm having a busy day they will even deliver! Good work CBS!

Cakes and Bakes do a great line in cakes and bread, I have just finished a slice Granary from this shop and it is delicious. Staff always polite and attentive. Great prices as well.
