Been coming here years and always great service and food. It's our go to family favourite pub.

Great food. Had green curry, pad Thai, prawns with ginger, satay chicken, salt and pepper squid

Staff excellent, very helpful and friendly, Fair range of food & drinks ( including alcohol/cocktails)food has declined in the last year but worth a visit.

Vegetable Bhuna tasted like a tin of chopped tomatoes with mostly frozen vegetables. Very watery and very cheap unnatural tomato flavour, not like anything I've had from any other takeaway. The naan and rice were both lovely.

Lovely restaurant & setting overlooking the harbour. Excellent food & service. Would have given 5 stars but saw the girl behind the bar blowing her nose & I didn’t see her wash her hands before she took food to customers. Now I have a cold.

Went in 2023, thought it was great. This time not so great. Beer garden was a site for sore eyes not nice area at all. The toilets were covered in cobwebs and spiders and certainly needs updating and painting. All had steaks, chips mushrooms and onion rings lukewarm. Ordered a doggy meal, this was forgotten. Asked to see a dessert menu, had to wait, but the young waiter never came back with it even though I saw it placed back in its place. Another waitress then asked us " do u want anything else or is that it" charming lol. Did get the dessert menu this time but decided against putting anymore money in their pockets with an attitude like that. No air circulating at all when everyone is cooking their steaks, couldn't open a window, so very smokey and stuffy and the air just smelt of smoke so not that pleasant for us.

I looked on line for restaurants in Paignton to book up for my sons birthday. He works in Dartmouth so we bring our caravan down to visit him a few times a year. Read reviews about La Scala and booked a table. During the booking I mentioned we were coming to celebrate my sons birthday. I was asked his name and I gave it. We were surprised to find the manager or owner, Maximillian had decorated our table , put a banner in the window and a birthday card from the staff. Wonderful, warm welcome. Restaurant is not large but small and comfortable. From the reviews I had read I expected the food to be good but it far exceeded our expectations. Lots of choice for starters and main meals . Also nice that the manager took the time to chat to us. What a relaxing experience. Water and fresh bread was brought to the table whilst we perused the menu. Once decided we enjoyed the house wine which was reasonably priced and quite pleasant. We had a mixture of starters which were outstanding and decent sized portions. We tasted each others and all three were superb. Frequent visits to ensure we were satisfied were made by the Manager . If we thought the starters were good we were amazed how good the main meals were. Warm , tasty and well presented. An absolute delight. Didn't really have room for dessert but squeezed one in. Again smashing, decadent but nice !! The ambience in the restaurant was very good, we felt quite at home and relaxed throughout the evening. Even more surprised when a birthday cake with candles was brought to our table and staff and guests sang Happy Birthday. My adult son had a good laugh. All I can say is don't hesitate when you look for Italian restaurants, this is the one to go to. It looks a little small from the outside but there is enough room to be cosy and comfortable and has an expansive menu. Spoilt for choice. Will I go again. Can't wait. Thank you to Maximillian and staff for such a pleasant evening . We will certainly recommend you to friends and family especially those that come to that area with their caravans, boats etc. A visit to La Scala should be included in any visit to Paignton or surrounding areas.

Lovely relaxed restaurant with friendly attentive staff, who were quick to serve us drinks even though it was almost full. I've not had scallops in ages and was glad to order them for my main - yum! Lovely local white wine too - I recommend you try.

We chose cupcake cafe as they do the best selection of cream teas not just jam like most places! We had the sunshine cream tea served with lemon curd&clotted cream ,scones a good size fresh fluffy and a nice homemade taste! They also do savory ,chocolate spread ,syrup & ginger preserve! 2 for £12

Amazing high tea, we all enjoyed Brie and Cranberry sandwiches with ours with the added option of having them toasted, a nice touch. Staff were friendly and accommodating, would 100% come back. Thank you Cupcake Cafe!

Fantastic! Group of 6 had various meal choices tonight, all of which were excellent. I had the jungle curry, which was cheeky, but full of flavour. Really good. Wine was not overly priced, and was very good.

Excellent cafe. Especially loved that they had porridge on the menu. Also toasters at the tables was fab, my son loved being able to do his toast his way!

Having found Mo's last year, couldn't wait to revisit this year. We visited twice and it was lovely, served by 2 very polite memebers of staff, so we then headed there for lunch on Sunday. It was busy and all tables were taken with one reserved. As we asked if anything was free a lady said she was about to leave, it was a table for two by the counter and paypoint. We were looking over the menus when 2 other couples vacated there two tables seating 4. So we advised the staff that would we move over there as there was more room, to be very sharply told no, as it might get busy! Hmm firstly I don't like being spoken to they way we were, and surely two paying returning customers who had already been in that same week was better than waiting for the tables to fill?? Hence to say we never ordered and promptly left. It was a shame as the food it very good and reasonably priced. Have to say the staff Thursday and Friday were lovely and this review is no reflection on them. Unfortunately for us it takes one incident to put us off whether it be food or staff so we will not be back.
