We chose cupcake cafe as they do the best selection of cream teas not just jam like most places! We had the sunshine cream tea served with lemon curd&clotted cream ,scones a good size fresh fluffy and a nice homemade taste! They also do savory ,chocolate spread ,syrup & ginger preserve! 2 for £12

Lovely cream tea and fantastic service girls really nice also was there an hour and a half and wasn’t rushed out. Would highly recommended.

Came across this little gem by accident, was looking for somewhere that did knickerbocker glories and this cafe did not disappoint. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, premises were very clean and tidy, table service if l remember correctly although you could order from the counter. Now it was hard finding somewehere that did knickerbocker glories as l remember them and l was not disappointed, also had a caramel dream frappe, very happy with service and well worth a visit. Cannot recommend highly enough.......

Beat cafe in Devon!! Food is incredible and homemade with love <3 staff are exceptional and very friendly. We come here nearly every week and have a splendid time each time. It is our absolute favourite!!! 🥰

We stopped in to the cupcake cafe for a cuppa and teacake (offer of the day). We were greeted with friendly smiles from all the ladies working there. It's dog friendly, and our dog was welcomed inside. The sandwiches looked good from those we saw other guests eating. The lunches and specials board looked good too. A bonus is the loo was very clean according to the wife who visited them. I'd recommend here for a pleasant cuppa in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Just been to this cafe and had an amazing cottage pie clearly homemade and very tasty . Followed by Apple crumble and custard. Very friendly staff and really nice to be able to take dogs in shall be returning

Me and a friend where after some cheesecake after looking around this little cafe was the only place we could find some, they had little white chocolate cheesecakes for £1,90, lady brought them over to our table that was a little tight but with the distancing it's understandable. They came with the tin foil still on, not to be extra picky but that's just lazy to me and proved it was clearly bought in (not that's a problem just a bit unappealing) but the annoying thing was we went to pay at cost £5. Which makes no sense. We also noticed they had cleaned the price off the remaining cheesecakes. If you where busy and didn't want us to take a table thats fine we would have taken them to go, but to hide the price and charge us extra is bang out of order to me. It's a shame since it looked like a sweet little cafe with staff who where clearly working hard. Not trying to complain about some foil and £1 but it's more the principal and hope no one els gets court out like this

One of the best cream teas we have ever had. Huge home baked scone served with generous portions of jam and cream. Lovely friendly service. Highly recommended.

Came here a few years ago and so glad it is still open. They serve the best home made scones I have ever tasted. There is a choice of plain, fruit, cherry or ginger. We had the cream tea for 2 with cherry scones, these came with jam, cream and a nice big pot of tea with hot water. All this for £6 - bargain. The staff are friendly and helpful. The tables were spaced out and sanitizer was available

We stopped here for a cream tea and it was delicious. We loved the scones! The staff were very friendly and we felt safe here as they provided us with hand sanitiser and were also mindful of how many guests were in the indoor seating area at one time.

After asking at a few places we were starting to worry that we wouldn’t be able to find a gluten free cream tea for me during our stay in Devon but boy were we glad we found this cafe! Heading back to the car as we had given up all hope of finding one, I saw a board stating 2 cream teas for £6, bargain!! Then I noticed a small sticker stating GLUTEN FREE AVAILABLE!! OMG! On talking to the owner, she has family who are GF so she bakes the scones herself & asked if I would prefer fruit or plain....a choice for GF?!!! Never had that before The scone was more than I could have dreamt about! HUGE, soft, moist - everything that doesn’t scream gluten free! Loads of cream & jam supplied, big pot of tea with extra hot water, I was in absolute heaven! Husband was so relieved (happy wife happy life and all!!) Cafe offers table ordering service & you pay at the end. Just to add dog friendly seating outside under a canopy! Perfect. On COVID measure you can’t fault this cafe!! Tables all had taped off areas around them on the floor for safety and distancing. Walkways were the same. Toilets had antibacterial wipes To use before using the loo. Track & trace in place, hand gel everywhere; brilliant! I couldn’t thank the owner enough for absolutely making my day, perhaps even my holiday! Can’t wait to return again!! Thank you xxx

Consistently good customer care is provided by the two lovely ladies who own and run the cafe. Great service with a smile, great food too. A great all rounder. Highly recommended for a guaranteed good time, nice drinks and food. Thank you.

Visited the cafe quite late in the afternoon almost closing time actually but we weren't rushed or hurried out. The cream teas and cheesecake were delicious. Tea hot and strong. The staff were extremely friendly asked about our holiday etc. The cafe itself is very clean and tidy. Our dog was welcomed and given treats. In fact half of our party will be visiting again next week after I return home. Would definitely visit again

Visited yesterday for lunch and found there were several sandwich and panini choices that were dairy free, vegan butter was and 2 dairy free cakes were available, a Victoria sponge and chocolate brownie both made with dairy free ingredients. Very rare to find cafes with even 1 homemade dairy free cake. This is our 3rd holiday to paignton and first time we have found you, if not back before we leave at the end of the week we will be back when we come back next year.

I visit Paignton regularly from Yorkshire and use this cafe as a morning "chill out" while I decide what to do with my day.Great to grab a cup of tea and sit and read a paper. Staff are always friendly and welcoming.Not eaten there as I get breakfast in the hotel, but have seen food being distributed to other customers and it always looks fresh and well prepared.

was looking for somewhere to eat, found this cafe and we have been back twice as we had really good service, good food and good prices, cafe was very clean tidy. The staff were all women &amp; young ladies.

Having read the TA reviews, was expecting something quite special. Had coffee and a slice of Victoria Sponge, the coffee was ok, the sponge cake did not have a very good consistency, and was quite dry. Now a little worried what the other cafes are like if this is one of the best in Paignton.

Had a scone with jam and cream VERY NICE with plenty of jam and cream lovely helpful waitress and a really nice latte to go with it.

Went with grown up kids - but still determined to have cream tea!!! Chocolate cream tea really ticked the box for two girls, one stayed traditional though! Son had a cheese and ham croissant and I went for a Sunday breakfast!! Staff are lovely too.

called in as we had been there before and found it very good, had the most wonderful cheese scone with a piece of cheese and pickle, excellent, my husband had the lemon curd and scone, excellent, lovely cafe and dog friendly too, thank you all.

What a lovely place. We had the loveliest breakfast which was 2 for £10 including tea or coffee. It came with fresh crusty bread. A friend recommended Cup Cake Café and I'm so glad they did. Highly recommend you have a breakfast or a cream tea.

Super friendly staff. Tasty, wholesome, fresh made food. Good value for money. Decent size portions. Partner and I visited at least once a day, sometimes twice, on each of the 3 days we were in Paignton. Best cream teas ever. Scones were huge. Lovely cafe. Will definitely come back when we next visit Devon.

A lovely old fashioned tea room, everything made fresh on the premises and much to my delight they made their own bread pudding, something you sadly rarely see these days.My wife had their excellent cream tea, home made scones with plenty of fruit, just as it should be.

We holidayed from the 22nd july 2018 and had breakfast here from monday to friday the food is great and freshly cooked and there is a great choice from pancakes with fruit and yoghurt the full english is great and with tea and coffee included at 2 for a tenner its great value too Highly recommended and the staff are so friendly you can tell why the locals eat here every day. cant wait to go back when we return in october

Service was very bad and not formal in anyway . Was spoken to like I was 10 years of age . Charges ridiculous amounts for bare minimum food . Will not be returning . Shame because it used to be my favourite cafe . And cant forget about the HAIR on my plate.

Lunch was brilliant. Toastie sandwiches thick and very filling served with salad. Tea excellent. Staff friendly and service quick. Food hot. Toilet down steps but clean. Cafe clean.

Have to say the service and food in this cafe has to be one of the best in Torbay. Service is quick and very polite when it comes to ordering food. And they could not be anymore helpful. The food is amazing and the cafe is always clean and served with a smile. 5* out of 5* every time.

Popped in for lunch and found a clean well presented, cafe very good on prices. Had a 3 egg omelette and tea . Beautifully cooked nice atmosphere. Will be back

called in on the off chance we could take our dog in and were made to feel very welcome. The cafe was beautiful and clean with a lovely selection of homemade cakes. we had a delicious breakfast with toast and butter and a pot of tea ( not a mug ) perfect. Our only criticism ( and its not really ) were the sausages the poor quality spoilt an otherwise lovely breakfast. A good sausage goes a long way to making a good breakfast and pork 8's are tasteless.

Instead of having a Fried English Breakfast, we have tried poached eggs on toast in several cafes in Paignton, These are the best ones we can find. Clean, tidy and very friendly.

you just have to go to Cup Cake, very nice place, very nice staff but best of all some of the best food you will ever get. All the food is home made and made to order, their scones are all home made and the cream teas are out of this world, not only do you get plenty of cream and jam but the scones are really really nice, and where else can you get that kind of cream tea at £6 for two. It was so nice we went back three times twice for cream tea and once for dinner I would recommend the toasties. If in Paignton Please go.

The Cup Cake is a lovely place with good food and very nice, helpful staff. They do a lovely cream tea with home made scones, and of course many other dishes.

Friendly cafe and good for midday snacks, afternoon teas and lunches. Close to shops and railway station.

We were recommended by a local lady to try the Devon cream tea from Cupcakes - it was delicious. The scones are home made and large - fabulous pots of jam and clotted cream help to make this a Devon cream tea to remember

The first visit to this lovely little place was our desperation for something not chip or fish related. It was lovely food and the staff were cheery and helpful. Dad had a full english and I had a panini. We chose to return a few days later while waiting to join our bus for the round robin trip, Dad is diabetic and needed something quite quickly so we just had toast and coffee. It sounds boring but it was actually very nice huge doorstep toast which set Dad up for his trip. The weather at the time was just an absolute deluge outside and the staff remained the same bright cheery ladies they were before. The menu is broad but not expensive and the selection of cakes looked amazing - I resisted the cake but only because I couldn't manage it after my panini. The coffee is one of the nicer cups we had as we don't like weak coffee. Overall it is a clean establishment with a good range of foods and lovely staff.

Use to use this cafe a lot till the prices went up its now one of the most expensive cafes in Paignton Most of the food is pre cooked the last breakfast I had there was not very nice at all I don't use it any more

What a lovely little place this is! There are quite a lot of cafes in a stone's throw along this road. We chose this one based on it having a reasonably varied menu to suit every family member and it was also displaying its excellent food hygiene award. The staff took very great care in making sure the food was exactly to our taste and then presented it with deserved pride. We had a selection of hot and cold drinks, some cooked food, and an amazing cream tea. Surely the best ever! Prices were very reasonable. Would go back if in the area.

Cafe is quite basic and a bit small, not so sure hygiene rules are adhered to as what appeared to be a family member with a child was going in and out of the kitchen area. Cakes sampled were victoria sponge and chocolate which were OK

What a delight this place is. Bacon sandwiches are amazing for breakfast and the afternoon cream tea is the best ever with a choice of freshly baked scones. Service with a smile. All food cooked freshly. Amazing place would highly recommend.
