Rockfish in Torbay

Popped in early Sunday evening, it was quite so there was no problem finding a table. We chose to sit outside on the terrace. Service was very good and the food was delicious.

Lovely atmosphere, warm and sunny, excellent service, delicious fish.

I had the brill and the cockles to start. Fish was dry.....! actually no, im kidding it was all delicious, service was excellent and the server was very patient with our group of 9 people.

Very friendly service and excellent food. Menu is put together depending on the fishermen's catch.

Food was amazing! Little pricey but you expect that with the amazing fish you get served. Nice decor. Friendly staff. Liked the way they told you about the specials of the day.

The Staff, the food, the ambience....12 out of 10!! I had THE best birthday ever thanks to the guys and girls that run this excellent restaurant. They all went above and beyond, great service, great sense of humour and friendly to a fault!! Rockfish Brixham is, without doubt, the flagship Restaurant in the chain.

I ordered the lobster unfortunately it was not cooked for long enough and it was very rubbery however the manager was very good and removed it from our bill. Just a shame as I was really looking forward to it other than that the staff were amazing and the views were fantastic so I would definitely recommend.

This is a bit of a strange one but I want to show my thanks to the staff. We turned up at lunchtime and asked if they could accommodate me and the party I was with (17 people). The staff were really accommodating and made up the table within 10 minuets for us all. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay for food on this occasion but me and my wife did go back and eat there. The food was amazing.

Food was delicious as usual we ordered drinks when we arrived our food came after a while but still no drinks told waitress who brought them over and apologised as they were sitting on bar our male server hadn’t brought them over when we paid the lovely waitress told us she had taken drinks off our bill as service wasn’t what it should have been which was very much appreciated

The highlight of our visit to Rockfish was meeting Lawrance who took our order. He was exceptionally professional, attentive, knowledgeable and overall brilliant. We hope Lawrance goes on to do great things with his talent. The food was ok, no better than the Prince William or Blue Anchor.

Excellent place to eat in Brixham harbour. The freshest fish landed daily beneath the restaurant. Sit inside or on the veranda with views out to sea. Hake always good. Many daily catch specials available. Reservations recommended.

Delicious fresh seafood. Location has a great view across the harbour. Service was good and staff friendly.

It's a good formula and we've been frequent visitors, but others have caught up - there are more interesting places to eat in Brixham. if you're serving a thin fillet like Bream, then it needs to come out absolutely the moment it comes off the grill. Mine had sat atop a cold Greek Salad for a while and was just unappetising as a result. We won't go out of our way to visit any more.

Have visited a few times now and it is simply a Lovely restaurant, the outdoor terrace is a must with spectacular views over the harbour and neighbouring brixham fish market below! Food is amazing and a wonderful ambience. They also have their own takeaway and fishmonger below, all of the food is as fresh as it gets having been landed the same day literally meters from the restaurant. Their whole menu can also be adapted to be coeliac safe. Well worth a visit!

Enjoyable evening. Had basic fish and chips which were very good. Unlimited chips is the gimmick - just ask for more. They jot the other fresh fish options onto the place setting menu - would be easier if they just brought a small blackboard around with the daily catch on it - these seemed a little pricey to me. Great view from the “gents”😀

What a wonderful restaurant 😍 Greeted by a very friendly and helpful young man. Lovely waitress (apologies don't know her name but she had braces). She is so good at her job. Sat in the "outside" area, great views despite the rain. Food was outstanding. If you are in Brixham and want to eat properly cooked, fresh that day fish, in a beautiful place with excellent service this is the place.

Great seafood. Noise just a little to much but very bubbly. Service great and quick, even with 5 people! No matter what dishes you choose, it all tastes different and very good.

Just back from an impromptu call in for a light bite. Both had starters, chips and a drink. Made to feel very welcome. Dog friendly. We have booked again to have lunch on our last day of holiday.

Nice outside terrace area to sit in. All the staff were very friendly. Fish and chips were nice, and the price was ok. Mushy peas were extra, and a bit too peppery. My partner isn't a fish eater so it was good to have a meat option of the chicken. However, it tasted of nothing (I also tried it). It came with some salad and coleslaw. For £20 you'd at least expect it to come with some chips.

We had a lovely family meal at the Brixham Rockfish restaurant. The staff were amazing, friendly and accommodating, happy to answer any questions we had and engaged with our children beautifully. We could not find fault the service and the food was stunning!

Rockfish in Brixham is a must-visit for seafood lovers! The fish was simply outstanding, from the delicious small bites to the perfectly cooked mains. We loved the unique experience of having the daily catch explained to us, adding a touch of excitement to choosing our meal. The generous "unlimited chips" is a brilliant idea. The overall experience was fantastic and we can't wait to return on our next trip to Brixham!

Very nice place. Only one complaint and that is a member of kitchen staff using a phone at the urinal. He did wash his hands but didn’t wash/clean his phone.

Not an experienced fish eater, however was amazing. Had Plaice and sardines. Service cannot fault. Highly recommend. P.S the curry sauce is incredible

This was my 2nd visit and food was great . I've been to many places, however here they definitely serve the best oysters at a reasonable price, therefore 5 starts when it comes to food ! 4 stars for service and atmosphere, only because it was a little drafty indoors, with an open door to the balcony ( some may like it as many were sitting outside,just not something that i find enjoyable). Staff were really pleasant overall, although different waiters kept coming up and asking the same questions. I guess I'm grateful for all of the attention, but interrupts conversations around the table .

We had a fabulous lunch yesterday, from the booking process through to the end. On arrival the team were lovely and welcoming. The lady who served us was great, smiley and professional. The food was delicious and tasty and perfect whilst sitting outside looking at the harbour. Overall the whole experience was great so thank you 😊

Curry Sauce is the nectar of the Gods!!! Don't be out of by the prices, you absolutely get what you pay for.

Great location overlooking Brixham fish market, and a good selection of fresh catches. The selection of shellfish wasn't as extensive as other spots in town, but we really enjoyed our mains and the bottomless chips!

Enjoyed my lunch here but felt it a bit pricey however I think price reflects quality. All the staff were very nice and friendly.

All the fish dishes were incredible and all very different. The serving team were great considering we were a big group of over 20 including toddlers.

Pretty perfect evening, special occasion so we had sole and lobster, both absolutely incredible, very relaxed environment, nice service, outside terrace is lovely. Careful on the sparkling wine you get prompted to add when booking, thought would be a nice extra surprise to have it waiting on the table so ordered it, was shocked when it came on the bill at £60, and they had no idea we had pre-ordered which is not what I was hoping for!

Best meal on our 3 day break in Devon. We had a dressed crab dish and a lobster dish. Well cooked, well presented and delicious. Fred was absolutely brilliant at looking after us. Thank you.

Wonderful restaurant with fantastic scenery around Brixham Harbour. Had Scallops and Lobster for lunch, cooked splendidly, and very, very tasty! If you are Brixham, this is one of the go to places for fresh seafood. Goes by their motto, tomorrow's fish are still in the sea.

We love Rockfish Brixham (& our local Exmouth)… saw seals swimming, fish being landed, lovely staff, best fresh fish. Lucky us!

Super fresh fish and great service

Friendly helpful staff, fabulous super fresh, SUSTAINABLE 👍well prepared fish - mackerel as it should be and rarely is, perfect Dover sole - and great accompanying sides. Loved the spicy take on a classic prawn cocktail too! Nice wine, great venue and ambience! What more do you need!!

In the heart of the famous Brixham harbour and above the fish market it’s a fantastic location. You must book to sit outside, even if it’s a bit nippy they have overhead heaters and blankets, you are literally 20 feet from the fishing trawlers, it’s just the sort of thing we stayed in Brixham for. The food of course is great as it has just come from downstairs, the staff are young but well trained and couldn’t be more helpful. The day we reluctantly drove home we took out cool box to the market after having breakfast and got a massive Crab and two Ray Wings to take home. The guys and girls in the shop couldn’t be more helpful, they packed it all in ice and even gave us tips on cooling it. The drive back to London took 6 hours🙄 but the seafood was absolutely fine, no problem keeping it that long at all.

Our visit was lovely in every way. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable about the catch of the day. This made for a exceptional experience all round with the food quality being of the highest standard. One of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time thank you

Absolutely loved it here. Sat on the balcony with a lovely view of the harbour and bay. A seal appeared as well which was nice. Staff were really good. Food was lovely and there are so many options for the fish. And their own brand cider was fabulous. Definitely recommend

Lovely place, the food was lovely. It was great to all be able to eat in a restaurant which catered for celiac and have choice of 3 courses and the variety was good. Definitely recommend. The staff were very friendly and accommodated us even though we did not book. The manager was very friendly, he assured all was gluten free. Great meal

Fantastic place to either buy fresh fish, takeaway fish and chips or eat in. The Rockfish batter is light but crunchy and tasty, the fish is light and flaky and the chips are cooked beautifully (and are also unlimited in the restaurant). Have driven 4hrs to eat here before, love this place.

The best sausage, chips and curry sauce for a cheeky lunch during our holiday. Wish we'd had time to go back and try some fish!

Went for lunch today and it was fantastic. The service from all the staff was friendly, polite and welcoming. The food was excellent and very well cooked. If you are looked for a great fish dish go here.

Our second visit to Rockfish this week and the experience was every bit as good as the first. Beth was our server this time who was great she was very pleasant professional and attentive. Our server from Monday ( Fred ) stopped by to have a chat which was a nice touch. Food as always was excellent, needless to say we will be back when we visit next time.

"Take away" in the little kitchen with seats at ground floor. The fish is superb and the chips are delicious too. You can choose any piece of fish from their fish market next door and have it cooked with chips. Veggie options aviable. Enjoy!

Overpriced and disappointing dishes (monkfish scampi, cuttlefish). Lemon & butter seemed to be served with most dishes. (Knew this wasn’t a good experience after eating later in the week at Beamers!) I guess this is a franchise - all theme no love. In fact that is the issue in a nutshell.

We were really looking forward to this meal after an amazing experience at Rockfish in Weymouth last year. We left feeling unimpressed, and like we had paid premium prices for an average meal. The fish was ok, but the recipes were basic and dishes came looking like a fast food chef had prepared them, rather than a well trained chef. You will get nice food coming here but I would recommend you save your money....there are better quality restaurants we experienced in Brixham.

Lovely place but very expensive.. we had a seafood platter for two and were disappointed with the size of it .. we were left still hungry.. had to ask for plates .. then had to ask for finger bowls.. ordered chips.. very small amount .. dessert was very overpriced.. have to say Harrods is better value for a seafood platter.. won't be returning

In the past my go-to place for fish and chips, I was travelling 50+ miles just to enjoy the fish there. This time, the haddock seem to be mostly batter and the chips were overdone. Three stars as the anchovies that I tried were better. The view and location still great but not sure if I will pop in again in the future.

Fantastic customer service at Rockfish. Friendly, helpful, great sense of humour. Packed fish for a long journey home, nothing too much trouble. So happy that they deliver to the door in England. Fish amazing.

It's true, very close to the fresh fish. We followed the recommendation of the very friendly waitress and chose two of the daily fish dishes. Monkfish tail and one of the soles. Both grilled and very tasty. The sauces were also very good. And what I never experienced before: you can have a refill of your fries. Unlimited. Wow. So, I very much recommend this place. The only thing that comes with the 'closeness' to the fish is the once in a while hovering smell of diesel from the trawlers through the restaurant. Maybe we were there in a bad time.

Unfortunately we had a late booking so missed out on a couple of dishes, but that didn't matter as everything we ordered was perfect. We were served by lara and hayley mainly and they looked after us a treat! I recommend the oysters along with trying the megrim, A light fluffy/flakey fish with great flavour. Thank you to all the team! Having our own family catering business we saw that they clearly work very well together and deliver a great service. Great work👏🏽

The must visit place in Brixham. We had some incredible scallops, great fish and wine and their own brand lager is fantastic, and that's coming from someone who doesn't like beer.

Excellent choice of local fish, beautifully cooked. Great service from friendly and attentive staff. Very reasonable prices. We have visited again on 2 occasions since my first review, each time while on holiday in Brixham, and the food has been excellent each time. The staff were brilliant and the standards of service have been top class. I have tried the dressed crab, as while as various fish, and I would recommend this restaurant every time.
