Absolutely gorgeous breakfast, cooked fresh to order absolutely lovely. Definitely worth a visit, nice coffee too, hope your hungry because portions are very generous

Homecooked breakfast at its best in Paignton. Spotlessly clean cafe and facilities. Dog friendly. Generous portions. Definitely try the three egg omelette and pancakes. Lovely kind staff. We came back after last holiday because the food (and service) was so good!

Ordered a toasted sandwich and got 2 pieces of toast with a filling and it was cold and Ordered a burger and had to pay separately for chips meals come out separately and cold

Have been to this place a number of times over the last few years, but never again. So disappointing. Rude staff, poor service and the food has certainly gone down hill. Ordered four meals, 2 arrived after around 15 minutes and one only had one egg on. The other 2 omelettes arrived a good 5 or so minutes afterwards and as well as looking like they had been chucked on the plates, they didn’t have the side salad on. When we asked about it, we were told you have to ask for that if you want it. Why advertise and charge for it if you don’t put it on the plate as standard. The girl that we questioned gave filthy looks and muttered something. When the salad eventually arrived, the bowl was literally thrown onto the table. As for the breakfasts, the sausages tasted as if they had been cooked a few times. Eggs were hard, and the baked beans were certainly not fresh. Not one of the 5 or so staff that were working really had anything about them. No idea what has happened to the hard working polite chap that used to do the food, but if he still owns the place, he needs to teach staff manners and give them and the food served a good shake up.

We found the staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them they would even entertain you by singing whilst they were working. Most important the quality of the food was Superb couldn't find a single fault .

Ordered frankie’s big breakfast and the people in front of me were being rudely treated by the staff which made me very nervous to order. I requested that my breakfast have no mushrooms due to an allergy but after a ONE HOUR wait with only 6 other people in the cafe my breakfast was brought to me with mushrooms, as well as my friends breakfast brought to him without hash browns which he hadn’t asked to have taken off let alone he didn’t ask for hair in his food. The service was also rude with the employees loudly making fun of our table in the kitchen. After such wait and problems, the food was inedible. Will NEVER be coming back here again.

What an amazing breakfast! From the large full English to the breakfast wraps and baps, it was all delicious! Staff were all friendly and approachable. We definitely took the right recommendation here and will return when we're visiting Paignton next. Thank you!

Mixed views on this place.... After ordering pancakes we were served melted ice cream!! When we questioned it we were told the lady had microwaved it because it was to hard and cold.... Ummm it's ice cream!! When asked for a refund of the ice cream the delightful lady slammed down the money and had a bitching session about it!!

The portion size was amazing, the seating was great and it was a lush atmosphere. I'd say not really pram accessible but if you are comfortable folding it, it works out well. With 2 under two, I get stressed but the team made it enjoyable and was a great trip down to Paignton. Definitely recommend

The breakfast was lovely and hot. Cooked your own toast with the toaster on your table which I liked as you knew your toast was hot. The prices were reasonable. The staff were also friendly, would definitely come back when I'm back in Paignton.

Dirty place, nasty food, beans and mushrooms were cold, bacon burnt,sausage inedible, have to cook your own toast, milk shake all dripping down the glass, latte disgusting, all the sauce bottles were near empty, dogs allowed in there, overall waste of my money would never go in again, only nice thing is the friendly girl waitress

Brilliant little find while visiting Paignton for the day with family. Wanted a lunch time snack and we were not disappointed. Great little traditional cafe, with really friendly service, greeted us with a genuine smile and were told there was a short wait for food - it was no more than 15 minutes and the food was well worth the short wait! Decent size portions, really hot, and very tasty! Great value. Would absolutely recommend this little gem. Keep up the great work guys!

We've been to Frankies once before whilst out for a walk. We enjoyed the food so much that we decided to return, and we were not disappointed. The cafe was busy but our order, cheese omelette and tea, came in good time and was freshly cooked. We really enjoyed the food and will be back again.

First time visiting Frankies’s! Oh my goodness, I’m definitely coming back. Me & my dad absolutely loved the big breakfasts we had, practically raving about them to everyone. Ladies who served were lovely and friendly, going the extra mile with our doggie bag. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Called in after glancing the menu and observing the reasonable prices, bit of a wait to order as the girl behind the counter was on her own making teas coffees etc. Grab your own cutlery sauces etc. Ten minute wait for food, actually saw the cook walk through the cafe and be told she had orders waiting. I had the regular breakfast, bacon was excellent quality, beans were tasty, mushrooms hash Brown tinned tomatoes sausages cooked perfectly, egg yolks were over done. Plentiful breakfast. I want to praise the lady serving the food, she was friendly, engaging and went the extra mile for every customer. The only negative for me was people on tables outside smoking and the smell drifting in.

We visit the area quite regular and this as become our place to go for a breakfast. But we wont be returning from now on id say they lost 4 customers very quickly that day. firstly there was only 4 more people besides our self in the café early Friday morning so our breakfasts arriving quickly was no shock . half way through our breakfast another customer asks where is food is and the woman says you have had it. he replies no i have not I'm waiting no longer i want a refund. then to our surprise a very rude woman from behind the counter approaches our table and says you have stolen this mans breakfast???? it was given to our table and it was payed for stolen?? never been so insulted it was a very quick 4 customers lost. perhaps some customer care training could be done before you have none.

Really lovely, clean food. Proper breakfasts and well worth the money. Hubby had a large breakfast (and it truly was large) and I have the sausage egg and chips, with an extra plain omelette because im a piglet ;) Cannot. Fault. The food. At all. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back again soon (we visit paignton weekly from Plymouth to see family). The ONLY downside is that they don't serve full fat fizzy drinks and I CANNOT STAND the diet/max/zero drinks, however we're absolutely fine with me nipping to a shop and grabbing myself a can of coca cola. However this did not dampen the experience at all, because the food more than made up for it

For friendly service, dogs welcome, Frankies provides a welcome stop for breakfast, coffees and lunch at affordable prices. Next to Paignton Steam and Train Stations and a short walk afterwards to the delights of the beach and harbour.

Found this little gem on a recent visit to Paignton. Had a full breakfast, at a very competitive price and a lovely, tasty coffee. Friendly staff and great service. We went back the next morning for more. Would definitely recommend it.

We mainly went as my son is called Frankie and I thought that was cute, even though it’s got a more old school cafe feel to it I felt more comfortable and the staff were lovely. They helped their elders so much and it was really nice to watch. A group of elders came in and seated to fit there group, one asked for menus and the younger lad told them he would get them for the group. Two older women came in one was ordering and the lad with the top knot bun was so helpful to her when he asked what kind of scones she would like she wasn’t sure what her friend wanted and instead of allowing her to walk and find out he just popped out from behind the counter and asked her friend for her which me and me Mam thought was really canny she even asked what went on first the cream or jam and he was having a little chit chat with them. I took one picture and that was to send to my son Frankie we were going to go again today but my sister is a vegetarian and can’t stand the smell of meat eating out with her is painful beyond belief. Anyhooos it’s has an indoor and outdoor seating area hope yous like it too oh and each table has a mini toaster and I checked it was clean by removing the bottom bit and it was so happy days.

Amazing full English, the type of sausages they used was A1, great portions and for great value as well. Literally no faults with the full English it was delicious and came really quick. Again so tastyOnly criticism is the toaster, while we did toast the bread ourselves as per the toast machine on our table, there were no numbers or markers indicative of heat settings and the toast came out pretty burnt

Well I searched the net for best brekkie in paighnton frankies was a forerunner .anyway we got down there went in payed for breakfast only 1 drawback if your a breakfast cafe u need blackpudding it's a must on a full English so anyway brekkie came looked lovly had 2 of everything and thick toast lovly .to be honest would have given 5 stars but please cmon frankies don't spoil your brekkies by using cheap beef sausages just not the same sausage id meant to be pork otherwise great brekkie

Made welcome by Laura and she served us up an excellent breakfast with fantastic fried bread,to much on the plate to eat but we did our best. will be calling back in september.

As there was 9 of us we find it a struggle to go to cafes, but they have a seating area at the back for 9 people away from everyone else which is perfect. Pay and order at the till end the end opf the cafe, dogs welcome. Brekafast for a few of us was a bit oily and fatty but finish it anyways, the small breakfast is big enough.

Stayed in Paignton for a few days and found this little gem! Staff really friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast so good we went back twice! Really nicely decorated cafe and handy for the beach. Coffee shops seem to be taking over the world so very pleased we stumbled across this place selling a proper start to the day!!!

Me and my husband enjoyed a breakfast at Frankie's today and I have to honestly say that people working there are the biggest credit for this place. Everyone very kind - great customer service. I could feel that each customer was treated individually according to there wishes and needs. Food was nice, especially mushrooms and coffee, but the reason we will come back was mostly lovely service. Thank you ladies for a nice experience

Whilst visiting Paignton on a Round Robin trip we looked for a “NOT Greasy Spoon” cafe for coffee and cake. We popped into Frankies and were pleasantly surprised. It was very clean, friendly and the toasted tea cakes were excellent. A good place for morning coffee!

My family visited Frankie's for breakfast. We ordered a regular breakfast a breakfast wrap and a vegetarian breakfast. Nice family business. All meals exceeded our expectations in size, taste and cost. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We had used this place before when we have been in Paignton and didn’t have a problem . We called in on Monday 31 st. Found a table in a quiet area. As we could see no Covid restrictions were in place and we wanted to keep our self safe. Sat at a table for 15 minutes no one came so we asked were told we could nt sit there as it was a table for5 but it was almost empty so we couldn’t see a problem. No staff wearing mask . S No table service The only place I been to the you had to order at the counter and when we complained at the counter I have never met such a rude man he told us to get it. Very abrupt. Didn’t have no manners in talking to older people. Very aggressive ! Member of staff cleaning the table used the most filthy cloth . Glad we were asked to leave as we were going in any way. I’m sure they could nt have all be exempted from wearing mask s. Would definitely not recommend ! Try going cupcakes very high standards.

Absolutely disgusting.....no masks or gloves...waiter hit another waiter on the head with a spoon and then put it on the saucer and gave the coffee to a customer! Plates being sent out with tomato juice spilling over, beans in pot with dripping down the side. Everything cooked in fat and the whole place stank of fat.....my coat stank when I came out and had to change my top. Felt quite ill when I got home and had diarrhoea. Saw one of the chefs cough into her hand ..no mask on but down under her chin....then she carried on cooking....didn't even wash her hands. Awful place.

We visited twice for Breakfast. The lady on the Wednesday never stopped cooking serving cleaning everything. Busy and I know why the Breakfast was excellent. Bacon Eggs Sausage Hash Brown Mushroom Beans Toast and a great cup of tea. The Saturday was really busy and the cook was on his own. No mushrooms. The breakfast was rushed not so good.

Just had an egg & mushroom bap with fresh coffee to go from Frankies - absolutely perfect start to my day. Freshest bread roll, runny egg & great mushrooms, hot Americano served just in time for my train 10/10

The meals we had were hot, fresh and absolutely delicious. You can tell that they use high quality ingredients. The servings were friendly too. We went at a time that it was particularly quiet so I can't comment on busier periods but our four meals were brought to our table very quickly.

The British seaside is a phenomenon one could hardly explain to a guest. In the year of Covid, I could not explain to myself the crowds persisting late into September. Paignton has the potential to be nice and certainly more appealing than its neighbour, Torquay, but the opportunity is not parlayed into any kind of sophistication or pretence thereof. A cafe, then, will be exactly that. One like another and not much changed in decades.Nevertheless, the rather basic Frankies, which has the laudable distinction of welcoming dogs, does a decent lunch. Ham, egg and chips were good. A cheese topped cottage pie was good too. Torbay Road is a bit hectic for vehicles and pedestrians but the cafes offer some amount of respite.

Fantastic place to eat, friendly professional staff who went out of their way to cook us something even though they had just started to clean down for the day. The portion sizes are brilliant and excellent value for money. Will definitely return here when in the area again . Keep up the excellent work

Located along the bustling road. We decided to sit outside given the pandemic. Shame as there were other diners smoking heavily which spoilt the visit. Although the chap who took the order was friendly, the Service was very slow as he was working alone. We Waited 45 mins for cuppa tea. I Didn’t see any staff wipe down tables outside either which isn’t great, thankfully I had wipes on me so did this myself.

Good portion size quick service. Nice atmosphere reasonably priced, also comes with tinned tomatoes not fried halves tinned tomatoes better for cooked breakfast.

We went to Frankies earlier today for breakfast, only 1 staff member working. We both ordered a small breakfast ( 1 without to tomatoes as I can't stand tinned toms on a breakfast) and 2 orange juice. When the food was ready my breakfast was given to a young lady( that had come in behind us) and when I said I didn't want tomatoes because she hadn't started eating the food was swopped over!!! Because the plates are never warmed the food goes cold very quickly, so don't think we will be using Frankies again, so please WARM YOUR PLATES.

I took my granddaughter after going to the cinema my youngest had sausage and chips she wouldn't eat the chips, the older one had fish and chips she ate most of it, I had sausage egg and chips it was ok just average what I didn't like was that most of the plates and dishes had chips and cracks in them which I wasn't happy about I did point them out to the waitress

Great little cafe with a well mixed menu , not expensive at all,lovely bunch of young staff when I visited all working really hard which is nice to see for teenagers!, I have been 4/5 times and had the chicken and bacon baguette every time as it’s the best!! My son loves going there for milkshakes and freak shakes x HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Visited yesterday while visiting Paignton with my wife and children, we thought we had stumbled upon a gem especially after reading the reviews.. How wrong we were! Customer service was horrible and we were barely acknowledged and it seemed the place was ran by teenagers at best! Food was also incredibly greasy (full English) and my children’s waffles were served stone cold and hard! Won’t be visiting again and urge others to do the same

Worst breakfast I have ever eaten. Tables too small to fit everyone on. Mushrooms tinned. Tomatoes tinned and the plate was swimming in the juice. The sausages had no taste and I would be surprised if they had any meat content. How anyone can think deep frying a sausage for breakfast or any meal is acceptable is beyond me, the grease from them joined my tomato juice to form an oil slick. Absolutely dreadful.

We visited here for a quick breakfast on the last morning of our holiday. This place was highly recommended to us and did not disappoint. Speedy service and relatively good value for money. Homemade pancakes and scones were delicious. Nice milkshakes too. Would like to visit again and try more menu options.

Called in for the buffet breakfast whilst on a trip to Paignton, it was our second visit our first 3 years ago! The food was all freshly cooked and hot! The staff were really friendly and for just over 6.00 the breakfast was fantastic value for money! The best breakfast in Paignton !!

I came here today with my friend . I ordered a small breakfast and made some changes to my breakfast (extra beans and extra toast) , this was no bother . My friend ordered porridge but unfortunately the cafe couldn’t do under £3 transactions ; so my friend didn’t order anything . However , my breakfast came quickly and with a plentiful amount of beans and extra toast . To our surprise , the waitress brought out a bowl of porridge to my friend which was completely free (although before leaving , we managed to scrape together left over change to cover the price) . Fantastic , friendly service and food was very good . Will be coming again :)

A coffee stop while cycling around Torbay. This place is right by the side of the road. Very convenient. The coffee was ace and the muffin was also good. Will happily come again.

Visited this cafe for breakfast and in the time of ordering and receiveing breakfast there was this dog in picture inside dog hairs in are breakfast and the staff were stroking the dog not washing her there hands then serving the food and the food was also cold and we told them and the reply we got was I can heat them up for you if you had cold breakfast they should do fresh breakfast they had dog eating off the floor in side it wouldn’t matter if dog was outside we spoke to public health and the only dogs aloud indoors at a cafe are guide dogs the staff were smoothing the dog on its backside and do not wash hands HYGIENE FOR THIS CAFE OUT OF FIVE IS 00 there was are family of six and everyone was left

I stumbled across this establishment whilst walking around Paignton. I was looking for somewhere that accepted cards and they advertised in their window that they did. I ordered the regular breakfast with a coffee and it was absolutely amazing. The price is good and the food was cooked perfectly. All the girls were lovely. I am in Paignton for the next 7 weeks and I plan to come back to this place very soon.
