Fantastic! Group of 6 had various meal choices tonight, all of which were excellent. I had the jungle curry, which was cheeky, but full of flavour. Really good. Wine was not overly priced, and was very good.

We have eaten in and also had takeaway from here, it’s by far, the best Thai food in Paignton, absolutely delicious, I highly recommend it, if you’re holidaying here, and would like to eat in the lovely restaurant, it maybe wise to book ahead to avoid disappointment. Thank you Siam Thai garden. 😁

Superb range of dishes, served so efficiently with smiles and care - and making sure we were in time for the 7.30 pm start at the nearby theatre. A second time that this restaurant has been a perfect choice in Paignton, combining with a theatre visit.

Small friendly restaurant. We called at a quiet time, but nonetheless the service was friendly and very prompt. The big bonus was the quality and flavour of the set meals which were shared between the four of us. Quite simply, the food was superb. An amazing mix of well cooked and superbly flavoured food.

My husband and I had a lovely evening at this restaurant we didn’t prebook a table but the staff were very accommodating especially for a Saturday night. We had crispy prawns and satay chicken for starter both were fantastic. Then massaman lamb curry and a duck curry with coconut rice everything was so tasty. We finished our meal with deep fried ice cream got to say I didn’t expect it to be as amazing as it was but it really was. I would highly recommend this restaurant the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly the food amazing we will definitely be returning.

Great authentic food with a decent kick. Worried about ordering the ribs in case they were dry, but they had a lovely jus with them. Also enjoyed the pork dumplings, chicken toast, crispy prawns and prawn soup to start. All very good. For mains we had a range of stir fried dishes (no curries) and a steamed sea bass. Again, all dishes were excellent. The service was extremely good. Very attentive and we didn’t have to wait for anything. The wine was decent and there was a nice buzz in the restaurant. No negatives at all. Great meal.

We managed to get a booking on a very busy night and were told we only had x amount of time before leaving the table. Fair enough - they were great to squeeze us in. When we got to the restaurant we didn't feel too rushed which was nice. Had a delicious starter to share - squid. Could have eaten a couple more plates of it. Both our mains were delicious and didn't feel heavy. We opted for 1 rice to share as we thought that would be enough, but I would recommend one per person. Was very nice to eat light, more healthy food for a change after a few days of chips and stodgy stuff. Left the restaurant very happy.

Visited in August and had an unforgettable meal. The modest title, Duck Curry, doesn't do it justice. This was a taste experience par excellance with waves of flavour mixed in to the coconut milk and red curry base. Creamy and lush, I savoured every mouthful. My partner had the Pla Rad Prig - two halves of Sea Bass laced with a sweet and sour dresssing that tantalised and teased the taste buds. Diced peppers, spring onion and pineapple enhanced the sweet chilli sauce. Suprisingly, the flavour of the bass still came through this rich accompaniment that has a nice little sting in its tail.Decor? Atmosphere? Service? I really don't care when the food is this good.

Renamed Siam garden. Rated 4 starts because of the food it self not for overall experience.Lovely food even tho the portions have definitely been reduced the food itself is lovely and can’t be faulted, But every time we go in the portions seem to be smaller and smaller. If your going to a restaurant for a nice atmosphere then I don’t recommend this place. It is very quite, you feel like you have to whisper and the place is always very cold so need to wear a coat. If the place was warmed up to make you feel relaxed and the music was a little louder I think it would make all the difference to the atmosphere. When your having a meal you want to relax and enjoy not rush because you are freezing. However I can’t fault the food just wish the portions was a little bigger for the price

Fish salad. New Zealand mussels. Why not local? Prawns, squid. The salas was a cop out. Bagged chopped cabbage and salad leaves. Nothing really fresh and zingy, no herb flavour, a bit flat. The other dishes the party had were OK, a bit too sweet, and lacking again in that zingy flavour you expect of Thai food.Compare it to Suphras in Plymouth, that is the yardstick, and it is no where near as good.

Nice decor and clean but service poor. When food came out both my friends and my Pad Thai was warm in the middle and cold on the outside, they took it away and returned it having been warmed in microwave, same problem again really, warmer in the middle not so on the outside and definitely not piping hot. When our bill came it had 10 bottles of lager on when we only had 6. Our friends arrived a little later than us, we already had a drink, when the waiter finally took our order, he never brought our drinks order out, the food arrived, so we asked the female waitress to bring out our drinks, which she did, this was no problem. When we got the bill and told them we had not receive 4 of the drinks on the bill, they were adamant we had and despite us explaining what had happened, continued to imply we were lying. They did in the end take off the drinks despite telling us we definitely had them. Like a Thai Fawlty towers, will not be returning.

This is a truly wonderful restaurant, with marvellous, authentic, Thai food. the staff are excellent. Forget the review by PuttyDodd - we were there when they walked out. It was entirely their own fault. They booked for 10, but didn't say they wanted to sit at 1 long table, so were sat at 2 tables next to other. There was no way the table could be reorganised and the long table was already in use. The staff apologised, when it wasn't their fault, and the party left. More fools them!

We decided to eat here on our last night in Paignton after reading some good reviews. The staff were welcoming and nice. We decided to have the set menu for 2 as liked the look of the dishes which consisted of an array of small starters,a choice of soups and mains - calamari, beef and duck dishes. Sadly the mains were lacking, the beef very chewy, calamari reasonable but not sure what part of the duck was in the dish but was inedible. We did not complain as too late for them to do anything about it. Would never return. For some reason unable to click on the rating below but would rate the service 4 stars and food 3 and value 2

We decided to have dinner here this evening because we noticed it had more choice compared the the Local Thai restaurant. It was fairly quiet, and the decor was furnished in keeping with the Thai culture. The waiting staff were courteous and polite, with one waitress taking time to chat about my oriental heritage. The menu was indeed quite extensive, with lots of complicated names of dishes alongside the English translation. On this basis, I used this to make my vegan choices - you can't go wrong with vegetable/tofu stir-fry. The rice choices were limited though, with garlic fried rice and vegetable fried rice being the only sides available as side portions. My partner had some kind of duck dish in chilli gentle sauce with the garlic rice, whilst I had the mixed veg/tofu stir fry with veg fried rice. For our starters, I had Tom Yam Hed (mushroom soup broth), whilst my partner had chicken satay. When the food arrived within 15 minutes I noticed the veg rice had bits of fried egg within it. Luckily I was able to switch rices, and my partner loved it. When a member of staff asked if everything was ok I mentioned the egg in the fried rice, and said I can't have egg but my partner offered to have the veg fried rice. The food was very filling and tasted delicious. Apart from that, it was good value for money.

On a traditional English seaside holiday, we fancied something more exotic than pub grub or fish n chips. Thai Garden is an 8-10 minute walk from the seafront and on the edge of the town centre, but well worth the detour. The room has the traditional gaudy but fun decor, and the welcome and service was as lovely as you would expect in a Thai restaurant ( can you have positive racism? Every Thai I have ever met has been friendly and kind...) The food is the classic Thai repertoire, cooked very well- plenty of oomph and spice without burning heat, meat tender and vegetables crisp. We are seasoned Thai food fans, but this was the first time we had brought our children to a Thai restaurant and they loved it too. The bill was very reasonable and I would make a point of returning here next time we're in the area.

We actually came here because another Thai restaurant we were recommended was fully booked and we still wanted Thai. The menu is extensive, but I had the Thai red curry and sticky rice, my partner had the seafood curry, pad Thai, and our friend had the tofu and veg. My partner literally had his mind blown by the seafood curry, he said it was absolutely incredible. I tasted the sauce being anti-fish and it was seriously good. Mine was excellent as well. It was incredibly tasty.Apparently there's "English hot, Bankok hot and country hot." We had Bankok hot and probably couldn't have gone further to country hot. In fairness we were heroes at Bankok hot because most wouldn't be able to handle it. The service was excellent and the staff were just so lovely. The main lady in charge was just a delight. Here is my review for last night's party of 11:-We had pre-booked and were greeted with the usual wonderful smiling staff and taken to our tables (2 tables of 6) We felt 1 table was a little squashed and the staff immediately offered to move us to an 'L' shape configuration nearer the window which suited everyone better. The staff were quickly gave us menus again and checked we were all OK (we were)The menu is extensive so you might want to look online first but we were not hurried with our orders and drinks were taken promptly. The staff also accommodated our needs for individual bills.I had the spring rolls and sea bass - delicious and piping hot.I try to find something constructive to write in the review for the restaurant to learn from but on this occasion this is only a glowing report. Anyone who loves Thai food will love this restaurant.

What a lovely experience I and my friends had at this lovely Thai Restaurant. Not only are you welcomed immediately upon entering, but the decor is so beautiful. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was just wonderful. We were really looked after well. Since my visit I have had a couple of take-aways...so nice to know that I can eat the same quality of food at home as I can sat down in the Restaurant. I'm a new found FAN.

We visited here on a Saturday night. We've been once before and enjoyed it then. We arrived about 7 o clock and there was only one other table there with guests but tables were booked and soon the restaurant started to get full.I had the sea bass which was lovely with a generous amount of fish. My husband had one of the beef curries which was tasty too.The service was good and friendly. We will be back!

We enjoyed enormously our pre theatre dinner with amazing friendly service and attention to detail. We ordered a variety of dishes, which contained wonderful flavours throughout. I highly recommend the Thai Garden for its uniquely intimate surroundings with kind, friendly faces serving the most delicious food.

When you have time and you enjoy the best authentic tastes of Thailand, this is the place to go. A superb full menu, charming décor, and Min and his staff give great service with the occasional floor show. Thoroughly recommended.

Situated in a quiet city centre side street with free on-street parking after 6pm, the Thai Garden is a cosy little restaurant with unfailingly friendly and courteous staff. The menu includes the usual favourites (mixed starters, red and green curries, noodles and stir fries), all freshly prepared and packed with flavour. If you've never tried Thai cuisine before, it's a bit like Chinese food, but richer and with stronger, yet more subtle flavours. One advantage of Thai restaurants is that they don't expect you to struggle with chopsticks! The wine list in the Thai Garden is modest and only the house white and red are available by the glass, so you may prefer to stick to Thai Singha beer, which makes a pleasant change from continental lagers.

Relatives down for the weekend again and although we tried to promote other Thai restaurants in the area the Thai Garden in Paignton was the only option! So despite our best efforts we had to eat through a range of succulent starters, five different rice dishes from a choice of nine, various noodle dishes and share main courses from Satay to Jungle seasoned pork.Proper jasmine tea in pots of course and beer for some bought our total to £140.00 for seven persons; with extras of some dishes. Not an unreasonable cost per head and service friendly and competent as always.

We were visiting Paignton for the weekend and decided we were in the mood for Thai food. The Thai Garden was on the outskirts of the town and is not too big, although there are plenty of tables, so we decided to book ahead. We were glad we did as the restaurant filled up very quickly after 7.30pm. We decided to have a set meal, and the dishes were all very tasty. The duck in red curry was a bit too spicy for our taste, but everything else was delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. If you like Thai food this restaurant is worth a visit.

My husband took me to The Thai Garden for my birthday treat and a treat it was. The food was so tasty, I've had Thai before but this was by far the best I've tasted. A wide variety of dishes and if you didn't know what to order the staff were keen to help you make a choice based on what you liked. We will be going back!!

What a wonderful evening we had at the Thai Gardens last night. We were a party of 15 and we were made very welcome. We had already made our choices from the extensive menu in advance and when we arrived table plans were drawn up and the correct meals were delivered to each person by name, a really efficient service. The food was excellent and we all decided the coconut rice was to die for! This little restaurant in Palace Avenue is a jewel amount Torbay restaurants and I would highly recommend a visit.

I visited this restaurant with a large group of ladies for a birthday party. It was my first experience of Thai food and I was very happy with it. Thai Gardens have a very extensive and inexpensive menu which our party took full use of. Without exception the food was well presented by attentive staff and most enjoyable. On a personal level I shall certainly make a return visit.
