Back in Bovey Tracey after two years. At first disappointed that the coffee wagon was no longer in the Co-op car park but minutes later discovered the sign on the main street and delighted to find it was the same business in a simple welcoming shop space but equipped to make a good range of coffee and hot drinks and selling a tasty complementary selection of pastries etc. Some stools and bench shelves. They also have an arrangement for punters to use the abutting courtyard at the back of the cheese shop next door. Dogs are welcome in both spaces and water and treats freely available. We liked this hospitable and welcoming friendly cafe. All the better because so few places are open in BT on a Monday. Happy to recommend.

We had a lovely meal at the restaurant last night, having heard about it in the local press. The food was freshly cooked and imaginative, beautifully presented, and the service was swift and attentive. Maybe the only downside is that the wine list was very limited, but the wine we had was excellent. The setting here is great, but surprisingly the place was far from full. That was good for us, but small independent restaurants need support, so please consider visiting. We'll certainly be back.

Really splendid Sunday Lunch. Interesting and varied menu but could not resist the Devon beef and that was superb- absolutely melted in the mouth. Great selection of vegetables perfectly cooked, great gravy and home made horseradish that knocked your socks off. A lovely space, friendly staff and good wine list. All very reasonably priced - honestly if I lived in the area I would probably visit every week. It deserves to be booked out every week!

Amazing! Wonderful friendly staff. Brilliant food set in a quaint village. Attention to detail is superb. Food quality goes beyond what you'd expect. For instance, adding fruit and asparagus to the salad. You wouldn't notice it was missing if they didn't add these little extras, but in doing so, it elevates the dish to a culinary experience rather than just a lunch giving it that special edge. We shared some of our plate with our children, staff were more than happy to provide sharing plates. It's also dog friendly. Perfect tea room 👍

Creeping thyme what can I say they see you eat with your eyes and my goodness it was beautifully presented and tasted even better. Every course cooked to perfection and yes we managed 3 courses. All local fresh ingredients and Tom and Louis are so friendly and professional absolute delight to dine here. The little bar is beautiful for pre or after dinner drinks or both cocktails are stunning just ask Tom to surprise you with his choice today’s was so good. We cannot think of any other restaurant where we have had better food and we do like to eat out a lot thankyou so much look forward to returning.

Came here for breakfast today and the man who served us was the sweetest guy. Was a lovely breakfast which I had the vegetarian one which was delicious. So reasonable for 4 of us with two drinks each was only £50 and one of the best breakfasts out that I’ve had ❤️

Fab little find on our travels! Service was spot on, could not have been more welcoming/friendly to us & our dog, so good we came back the next night! Lots to choose from, nice to see several vegetarian options on menu, portions are generous, absolutely loved the 5 bean chilli & vegetarian lasagne 😋

We went in because we urged to by Nigel from the bookshop (no 69, which we also highly recommend) We had a proper pasty, with faultlessly cooked veg, and the right amount of perfectly peppered beef skirt. The crimping was a creation of Cornish cuteness. My friend chose a diabetes inducing (which was what she was after!😂) lovely Mars Bar cake. Sally makes it all herself, and there was not anything that didn't look gorgeous. Sally was warm and friendly, welcomed us in, and made a point to say thank you and goodbye and wish us a good rest of our day. We left, sated, warm and happy.

I enjoyed lunch here twice whilst on holiday and both times it was wonderful. The food was great and my five year old really enjoyed the afternoon tea that was presented in a hen house! They had the most wonderfully helpful and kind staff, including the very lovely man who helped me to retrieve a lost item, for which I will be forever grateful! Definitely with a visit, the food, service and setting were perfect.
