We had a lovely meal at the restaurant last night, having heard about it in the local press. The food was freshly cooked and imaginative, beautifully presented, and the service was swift and attentive. Maybe the only downside is that the wine list was very limited, but the wine we had was excellent. The setting here is great, but surprisingly the place was far from full. That was good for us, but small independent restaurants need support, so please consider visiting. We'll certainly be back.

Really splendid Sunday Lunch. Interesting and varied menu but could not resist the Devon beef and that was superb- absolutely melted in the mouth. Great selection of vegetables perfectly cooked, great gravy and home made horseradish that knocked your socks off. A lovely space, friendly staff and good wine list. All very reasonably priced - honestly if I lived in the area I would probably visit every week. It deserves to be booked out every week!

First time and had a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner. The food was superb and the service attentive without being overbearing. Given that they are closing in two weeks time it was remarkably upbeat. I appreciated their resilience when they had technical issues in the kitchen and they protected us from the impact; it was only after the meal that we found out about the challenges. I am very sad that Creeping Thyme is closing because it has been a fantastic restaurant both here and in Bovey. All the very best to all of you in next endeavours and wish you well. Thanks so much for the unexpected gift of pint glasses and will think of you when they are used. Hopefully we will see Creeping Thyme again.

Back in Bovey Tracey after two years. At first disappointed that the coffee wagon was no longer in the Co-op car park but minutes later discovered the sign on the main street and delighted to find it was the same business in a simple welcoming shop space but equipped to make a good range of coffee and hot drinks and selling a tasty complementary selection of pastries etc. Some stools and bench shelves. They also have an arrangement for punters to use the abutting courtyard at the back of the cheese shop next door. Dogs are welcome in both spaces and water and treats freely available. We liked this hospitable and welcoming friendly cafe. All the better because so few places are open in BT on a Monday. Happy to recommend.

YOU GOT IT GOOD. I had chocolate ice cream and it was amazing. There were enough tables, and it was fairly quiet. This place is a lovely spot to come with children. I highly recommend.

What a treat! Lovely decor, lovely atmosphere and fantastic hosts. Table service from extremely friendly landlord. Doesn't serve food but the landlord says all are welcome to bring their own food in. We were made very welcome from the off and comfortable in a great looking friendly pub. Thank you for a nice experience

Lovely visit while staying in the local area, we were advised to book and I’m so glad we did! It’s a very popular spot! My husband and I both ordered the big barn breakfasts and the did not skimp on the portions!! I also (wife) ordered the mega hot chocolate and this was delicious! We also ordered some cake to take away with us- we can definitely recommend the carrot cake. All in all, a lovely visit and if we’re back this way again we’ll be sure to book a table and enjoy.

Absolutely soulless, we visited on a Saturday when the town was busy and all other eateries were full. We decided to try it as there were tables available. To be honest, when we entered and saw only 2 of many tables occupied, this should have been a warning sign. The place was deathly quiet, no music, no chatting, cutlery chinking. As for the food, it was mediocre to say the least.
