Back in Bovey Tracey after two years. At first disappointed that the coffee wagon was no longer in the Co-op car park but minutes later discovered the sign on the main street and delighted to find it was the same business in a simple welcoming shop space but equipped to make a good range of coffee and hot drinks and selling a tasty complementary selection of pastries etc. Some stools and bench shelves. They also have an arrangement for punters to use the abutting courtyard at the back of the cheese shop next door. Dogs are welcome in both spaces and water and treats freely available. We liked this hospitable and welcoming friendly cafe. All the better because so few places are open in BT on a Monday. Happy to recommend.

Visited with family ranging from 7 to 84. We spent sometime in the Jolly Roger, marvelling at the models and beautiful motorbikes on display, there is no charge for entry, we really enjoyed it! We then had lunch at Josie's, we thoroughly enjoyed very tasty burgers, pannini and jacket potatoes. Great range of teas, coffees and soft drinks. A very well considered family friendly place to enjoy good food and the unique displays in the Jolly Roger too.

We had a lovely meal at the restaurant last night, having heard about it in the local press. The food was freshly cooked and imaginative, beautifully presented, and the service was swift and attentive. Maybe the only downside is that the wine list was very limited, but the wine we had was excellent. The setting here is great, but surprisingly the place was far from full. That was good for us, but small independent restaurants need support, so please consider visiting. We'll certainly be back.

Really splendid Sunday Lunch. Interesting and varied menu but could not resist the Devon beef and that was superb- absolutely melted in the mouth. Great selection of vegetables perfectly cooked, great gravy and home made horseradish that knocked your socks off. A lovely space, friendly staff and good wine list. All very reasonably priced - honestly if I lived in the area I would probably visit every week. It deserves to be booked out every week!

The best afternoon tea around. Lovely staff, gorgeous afternoon tea and somewhere we can’t wait to come back to. The variety of sandwiches, jams, and cakes is next level! It was perfect!

We enjoyed all three courses of our meal. Our duck was cooked to perfection and just melted in your mouth. The potatoes, lentils and vegetables accompanied the duck perfectly. It was delicious. We wish you all the best for the future

Love this pub! We go there every week with the bell ringers after practice and it's the perfect place to settle in with a pint and a warm fire. In the summer, the big garden's a lovely place to sit. Friendly staff, nice dogs, highly recommended.

We visited for Sunday lunch and were blown away with how good everything was! The welcome was lovely and friendly as we were shown to our table. Drinks were provided swiftly and we didn't have long to wait for our lunch. Very pleasant and efficient service! Food was SUPERB!! The roast potatoes and gravy are worthy of a special mention and crispy kale a nice touch and cauliflower cheese was great! We didn't have room for pudding but the puds looked amazing. All in all top marks and we look forward to returning!

Rainy day, no menu visible from outside so we went in. Whilst the server was busy chatting we looked at the big board, but there were limited offerings for lunch so when she turned her attention to us, I asked if this was everything they offered (thinking there might be a written menu as well or something). She told me, fairly rudely, that that was everything they did and if we wanted something else we could go somewhere else, "not that I am trying to get rid of you.. ha ha", And so we did just that. Cant tell you what the food was like, but we did have a very nice lunch elsewhere!

Lovely visit while staying in the local area, we were advised to book and I’m so glad we did! It’s a very popular spot! My husband and I both ordered the big barn breakfasts and the did not skimp on the portions!! I also (wife) ordered the mega hot chocolate and this was delicious! We also ordered some cake to take away with us- we can definitely recommend the carrot cake. All in all, a lovely visit and if we’re back this way again we’ll be sure to book a table and enjoy.

After a cold walk at Parke, our family, including my mother in law and toddler were very keen to get in the warm and look forward to tea and cake. We had planned our afternoon around it and looked online to check it was open. There were also many signs saying that they were open. So we were most disappointed when they had closed by 2.30 that afternoon. The lady at the national trust office said it was quiet so the owners had closed early, despite the car park being half full. She also said the national trust were independent from the cafe, despite having their logo on the actual cafe. It was very frustrating. A simple update on the website would have saved us from disappointment.
