No service, no quality, cheap toilet roll, and toiletries £130.00 per night for supposed luxury rooms with views over rusty, nasty back of buildings. All 5 stars reviews from previous owners. She says she is just a family home and not a business, but all 13 rooms were booked. Under Edgemore Hotel,

Ideally situated for exploring Dartmoor, perfect for our break. There was no breakfast onsite which we were informed of when booking. However, we had a lovely brunch at Ullacombe farm just up the road. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Providing a travel cot for our little one on short notice.

Edgemoor MANOR is effectively a small number of modest rooms bolted onto the side of a new owners’ personal home - except the owners seem to have no interest in actually having/hosting guests but are using this as a side gig to cover the costs of running their residential home. They are capitalising on the reputation that Edgemoor HOTEL has clearly built up over many years, charging the same rates, but with none of the same facilities (eg a commercial kitchen) or with any Devon warmth and charm. The owners made us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived, the building was run-down and smelled of sewage (but the rooms were fine, modest and clean) and we paid £120. Overall, this felt dishonest and like a scam. For guests looking to stay here, if you were charged ~£60 per night and knew you were effectively kipping in someone’s home where the owners didn’t really want to interact with you - then this is for you, else, I’d recommend going elsewhere in the area.

The staff were cheerful and friendly, and we enjoyed soft scones with clotted cream and jam. The hot chocolate for the kids was delicious too. The brownie could have been a bit less sweet, but the cheesecake was lovely. It's a good place to stop after seeing Haytor in Dartmoor National Park. (8 minutes by car) There is a paid parking lot (£1.90 for 2 hours) opposite the cafe, but coins are the only option, so if you want to pay by card, grab the cafe's wifi (no password) and use Ringgo. You can pay through the app. It's a soft, crumbly style scone, and it's large so you can eat one per person. Only the cream tea set (tea + scone + jam/cream) is listed on the menu, but you can also order the scone alone (jam/cream costs extra). It doesn't taste amazing, but the staff is friendly and it's easy to enjoy.

Delightful Sunday lunch - all piping hot and delicious - despite us being a tableful with a mix of carnivore, vegan and vegi! The star of the show was the superb vegan choc tart - with vegan ice cream - best dessert ever - and I’m not even vegan!!!

Just had the best meal out that I had in ages at court farm. I had the roasted mackerel, New potatoes and salad followed by the white chocolate and brioche bread and butter pudding. I highly recommend court farm. We will be back!
