A truly pleasant & restful stay at this charming B & B. The accommodations are well appointed with everything you should need, the management could not be more helpful. While our stay was in the very early part of January 2024 & the outside temperatures were really cold but our room was really comfortable & we had a comfortable night. The Tea Rooms are on the ground floor & this is where we had our breakfast. My partner is very gluten allergic but she was very well looked after. Our first morning I had an excellent Full English & on the second morning I had scrambled egg on toast with bacon & the scrambled eggs were truly fabulous.

Visited for lunch only and really impressed by the savoury options, including two daily specials. Really well cooked and well flavoured. Was so impressed we had to stay to try dessert - apple pie, cooked and served exactly as I asked. Service was very quick and friendly. Will come back. On site parking was a bonus.

Just dropped in for a cream tea. We had the savoury option. The scone was very fresh and tasty with two portions of butter each a nice piece of cheddar cheese and a lovely pineapple and onion pickle. Enough tea for three cups. Service was good and we were made to feel welcome even with our very loud little grandson. The coffee was excellent. Seating well spaced out so did not feel crowded. All in all very good and not too expensive.

We popped in here as we were passing through the area. Proper little gem. We got a window seat for two (overlooking the busy little road) but you get to see, bikers, campervans, doggies etc, so still plenty to see passing you by. We had cream teas, I had the savoury option, very nice. My partner had the cream and jam x two! And he thoroughly enjoyed them. We had a bit of free entertainment there too, the waitress (possibly the manager) was serving the table of four behind us and they obviously all knew her because the laughs and wind ups they had going on were hilarious. We were served by a young girl (possibly fairly new) and she was superb. Very thorough and friendly. Thank you for the great service and cream teas x

The best Sunday lunch we have had in Bovey Tracey. By far the best restaurant in the area. We went for Sunday lunch on Mothers day and it was fully booked. (we had booked) We were only interested in Sunday roast, and there was a choice of Beef or Turkey. we all had Beef and it was superb, plenty off it, tender and plenty of veg. The roast potatoes were outstanding. You might ask why so much detail! well we have had some pretty dreadful Sunday roasts in and around Bovey. The deserts were also outstanding and plenty of choice plus good size portions. Wine choice and quality was limited but very reasonably priced @ £19:50 bottle and it was ok and enjoyable. The staff, particularly the lady were outstanding, friendly and helpful. Would we go again? absolutely although we were visitors from far off Hampshire our friends were locals and surprisingly it was their first but definitely not their last visit.

An absolutely lovely venue with excellent food and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. We popped in for lunch, quite risky on a Sunday, but with the lovely garden area we were easily accommodated. The staff were incredibly friendly and couldn't do enough to make our visit perfect. The food was wonderful; lovely flavours and nicely presented. Desserts were equally outstanding and such a good range. We decided to share a cream tea for dessert, this was also to a high standard with quality jam and lovely fresh clotted cream. I should also mention that service was very prompt, ideal when you have hungry children with you. This would be a great place to visit at any time, breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea! Highly recommended, I only wish I'd taken some photos to share too, well worth a visit.

We stayed 3 nights at The Copper Kettle B&B, our room was just delightful. It was spacious, very clean, comfortable and we slept really well. There was plenty of storage/hanging space and we made good use of this. It’s nice to be able to actually unpack and not just live out of our suitcases:-) Breakfast is included , which was very tasty, there is plenty of choice and it was all delicious. There is also a lovely big garden to enjoy, although we didn’t use it because of the inclement weather. In summary, a lovely and clean B&B, excellent hosts, super breakfasts.. we will definitely recommend to all our friends and family and when we are next in the area will definitely stop here again. Final point, and an important one, it’s very easy to find and has plenty of safe, off road parking.

We visited at lunchtime. When we arrived I must admit I thought it looked cluttered and old fashioned but I did notice that it was spotlessly clean ( not a speck of dust on the ornaments and no sticky table mats!) so decided to stay. The couple running it were very friendly and helpful and paid attention to checking we scanned our app on arrival and wore masks at all times. I had the special of the day which was a quiche which was delicious and absolutely packed with veg, I also had chips which were freshly cooked, piping hot and lovely and crispy. My husband had sausage and chips and enjoyed his too. There was a nice garden to sit in but the weather wasn’t kind so we stayed inside. We felt the food was very good value and the service pleasant and if we are in the area again we would certainly pay a return visit.

Four of us called in here for a lunch and a cream tea. The service was helpful and pleasant. The food had a 'home cooked' feel to it and the meals from the 'mains' were delicious and enjoyed by two of us. The scones, made on the premises, were to die for, soft tasty and no hard edges and no 'bicarb' after taste. The other two of us had one savoury 'tea' (cheese scone with cheese and pickle) between us and followed with a cream tea for pudding! A taste of a chocolate cake topped with a Bailey's flavoured icing was heavenly. Do try it out if you are ever in Bovey.

The Copper Kettle seems to be a popular eatery for some older residents of the Bovey Tracey area, but I personally fail to appreciate the makeshift character or quaint allure of the place -It is always difficult for a small venue to properly embrace the cosy image of a delightful cafeteria without accidentally becoming overcrowded, and when the limited floor space makes you hyper-conscious of absolutely everyone who dares to approach the back of your chair, it's then that you realize that the place is just far too congested for it's own good. Unfortunately, this is an accurate picture of my expirence of the seating arrangements in this establishment: in fact the whole interior feels undersized and nervously compact, not to mention a little improvized.Much to my disappointment, the food did not live up to expectation. The Cauliflower on my plate tasted horribly plastic, and although the slices of beef and the large Yorkshire pudding were both generous helpings, their flavour can only be described as standard and unexceptional. A handful of chopped Carrots and Cabbage leaves proved a mutual addition to the plate, although I must confess that the roasted Potatoes were truely excellent, delivering a rich deep kick straight onto the tongue. Dessert consisted of a homemade Belgium chocolate Raspberry gateau, which was deliciously fruity, and unavoidably handsome to the eye.I observed that the staff were loquacious and friendly, and they delivered the freshly cooked hot meals to our table without any undue hesitation or flippant mannerism. Perhaps it was because of their diligence that everything appeared to be clean and organized, and that we were not left abandoned for any prolonged period of time, such as when we were waiting to order. Asides from the great customer service, highlights from my visit to The Copper kettle were few and far between: the food was mostly unsatisfying, and the dining room way too small. Despite it's ldeal location at the edge of Bovey Tracey, the building simply does not grapple for my attention in any fashion whenever I drive past, and I do not see myself wanting to visit again.
