The best restaurants in Taunton Lyngford Taunton Deane South West

I was on a business trip today, left the house early and was looking for a snack, passed this cafe but had my dog in his backpack, immediately they welcomed us in and the staff were AMAZING. My dog is elderly, been poorly but they made such a fuss of him and gave him a treat which he loved. I ordered a coffee & toastie, both of which were made to perfection, just how I like it. Genuinely thee nicest, friendly, happy staff, made our morning and set us up for the day. I can’t recommend enough and we will definitely be a returning customer when we’re in the area again. Thank you.

Another delicious Sunday lunch. Risotto with salmon and seafood, and chicken with mushrooms and peppers - my favourite ‘go-to’ dish - see photo. On the way home, we were asked for directions to Venezia. ( It’s next to the sex shop and opposite the funeral directors.) Little did the man know we’d just eaten there. We hope he enjoyed it as much as we do. First rate restaurant, with recently refurbished interior, excellent service and the best food in Taunton.

This was my first meal from here, and I was impressed. All very tasty, both meat and vegetarian dishes. Delivered a little early, and nice and hot. I'm looking forward to trying out their other dishes in the future!

The food was definitely average, I was expecting much more delight. The service was poor, no checking the table, no checking for drinks, servers next to impossible to flag down. It's a loud and busy environment and much more attention is needed to the customers. Overall not what it should be, actually disappointed

Great Chinese food, still top quality and no MSG.

I stop here regularly and it’s always great. I love the eclectic style and ambiance of this little place. Without doubt it’s my favourite station stop off. Tea and coffee always good and no extra charge for oat milk which is much appreciated. Called in today to find a customer shouting at a member of staff. Totally unnecessary. Hospitality workers work hard and deserve to be acknowledged and respected. Thank you for always being kind and polite when I pop in. I look forward to my visits.

Very friendly welcoming staff. It was extremely busy, but service was quick & efficient. The food is excellent quality & value for money. (Drinks were a little more pricey) We are already planning our next visit

Came in with my partner for my birthday and was warmly welcomed by the staff. My partner is celiac and all the staff were very supportive and advised us on what they could do gluten free. The food was incredible and the portion sizes were huge. Would highly recommend this place and we will certainly be returning again and again.

So overpriced these days compared with other fast food places. Didn't have some items didn't have BBQ meat balls, didn't have anything other than pepsi max in the drinks machine. Was pretty dead inside and service was slow

The room was fine as usual for premier inn and at least the USB points worked for a change. I also appreciate the parking exceptions. The reason for not giving more stars was the horrendous food and limited menu with no explanation. We get a meal deal for work, and had a choice of chicken strips, chips or nachos for starter and not much for mains either. Nachos are literally out the bag with a tiny dip and one sprig of rocket for 3.50. Chicken wasn't crispy. The fish and chips had no veg or tartar sauce, tiny portions of chips and the fish was straight out of a frozen Birdseye box, for 13.50! I could make much better at home for the price of the nachos! Bolognese tasted like tea and was horrible, probably out of a microwave packet. If you can't do food shut the kitchen don't rip people off, it's criminal charging that, and after a hard day's work it's disappointing. At least breakfast was nice.
