I was on a business trip today, left the house early and was looking for a snack, passed this cafe but had my dog in his backpack, immediately they welcomed us in and the staff were AMAZING. My dog is elderly, been poorly but they made such a fuss of him and gave him a treat which he loved. I ordered a coffee & toastie, both of which were made to perfection, just how I like it. Genuinely thee nicest, friendly, happy staff, made our morning and set us up for the day. I can’t recommend enough and we will definitely be a returning customer when we’re in the area again. Thank you.

The owners said they have been open since March 2019, first time I have been in this location since about January. This is a combination of freshly prepared sandwiches and salads (Hot sandwiches and Panni's also) and homemade cakes, buns and brownies etc. The owners are very friendly and after selecting a slice of Bakewell Tart and Bread Pudding (To Take away) I opted to have a bacon sandwich - The local back bacon (Nice and thick) was warmed and was soon in two slices of brown bread (with brown sauce) - I ate at the small bar (Which has three stools), reading the complimentary copy of the daily mail - There is also free WiFi available. The bacon sandwich was excellent, I can also state that both the bakewell and bread pudding were excellent - The owner advised they bake fresh everyday. Looking at the fillings available for the sandwiches, it is without doubt some of the best I have seen - Certainly puts subway to shame.

We have used the pub for many years but having moved away we made a special trip back and weren't disappointed. The owners have now added the 'Snuggery' which is a beautiful self contained holiday let which is in the old part of the pub. We were greeted by the warmest of welcomes from Vic and Paulette [the owners] and shown to our room which consisted of a lounge, kitchen and beautiful bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Once settled in we were made to feel welcome in the bar where we had drinks and caught up before sitting down to a wonderful meal. My partner and I both had the steak and ale pie with fresh, perfectly cooked veg and crispy chips [some of which kept finding their way onto my partners plate!!] - followed by sticky toffee pud for him and cheese cake for me! The service is warm, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for the team. After a few more drinks we went up to our room and had a fab nights sleep before heading down in the morning to a roaring log fire and freshly cooked breakfast. Needless to say we didn't want to leave!
