Tried Bloomfield fine food in Highworth today and “Wow” the quiche was truly outstanding, in fact, the best I have ever found, and I have tried a lot! Will return.

We had a fantastic meal here on Tuesday 12th November, the meal was delicious and the host welcoming and very very good at producing a delightful meal, and providing such a wonderful memorable experience. The waiter was also very helpful and attentive. We will certainly go again if we are in this area again.

Always fantastic service at The Rose and Crown - it's our favourite pub in Highworth (not our closest) and consider it our local. Visiting family always request to go to The Rose and Crown as its so welcoming and the prices are great. There is always a great atmosphere, with a fire going in the winter. There is plenty of outdoor seating when the weather is nice, though fairly basic.

Food ok, although I found the linguine a little tasteless, but the restaurant was very cold as was the service. It was a Monday night, only a few tables filled, but it seemed that they were keen to close up despite it being about 8pm. Never had a bill so quick.

We visit this cafe regularly, usually for a cake and cappuccino. It’s our favourite place to visit for refreshment. We are always very satisfied with the cake, coffee and service- the staff are lovely. This week we decided to try lunch there. We both had bruschetta - it was lovely. It looked good, with various coloured tomatoes and tasted as good as it looked. It was excellent. We would strongly recommend a visit to this little tea rooms.

A good old pub with lovely staff, a proper atmosphere as a traditional pub should be. Great selection of draft beers & ciders.

I feel I should start this by saying the place was quite busy, so it is plainly popular. We were greeted at the bar of this restaurant &, as we hadn't booked, given the choice of a table in the dog friendly section (there were no dogs booked in), or the snug (3 tables just down some steps), we chose the snug....but it wasn't. It was chilly. The young lady offered to bring us some drinks, in hindsight we should have just ordered & taken the pints with us. The drinks took a fair while to be delivered. She then went to get the tablet so we could order food (we'd had plenty of time to choose). Dad had decided on the Ham, Egg & Chips only to be told "sorry, we don't do the ham on Tuesdays. We have our meat delivered in the morning so the ham is being cooked now." I can only presume there is no ham on Monday either 🤷. I ordered the Sausage & Mash (not as simple a dish as it sounds as you can see from the photo's. Too many ingredients in the mash), Dad ended up going for the Hand battered (🤷) Cod & Chips. The food was delivered more promptly than the drinks had been, but tbh was....okay. Judge for yourselves from the pics. Mine was swimming in gravy & the sausages looked like they'd washed up on a beach. The multi veg mash was too runny for my taste. Dad's fish was adequate, but the plate just had too much on it, & why was the salad on a little saucer in the plate? Nothing terribly wrong with much, but we won't be going back, sorry. As I said at the start, it is clearly popular & busy, just not again for us.

To be honest my partner was lucky enough to win a voucher at a charity event. We headed out to the Highworth for dinner whilst the restaurant was in full Christmas office party mode. There was just the two of us. I have to say the welcome, the service and the food was absolutely outstanding. Some of the waiting staff were quite young, they were a credit to the Hotel. We have returned since (the Sunday roast is another outstanding meal), and will continue to use this venue. 5*****s all the way! (NB The Highworth Hotel is on the No7 bus route from Swindon and so no driving or Taxis required, we were able to enjoy a glass of wine or two.)
