A good old pub with lovely staff, a proper atmosphere as a traditional pub should be. Great selection of draft beers & ciders.

We had a lovely lunch here on Saturday, We has the chilli and chips and the home made burger and chips, the food was great, extremely tasty, the chips were nice big chunky chips, we both cleared our plates! The atmosphere in the pub was nice and cosy, the wood burner was lovely to sit near, a very relaxed vibe, service was great, very friendly, will be returning again soon,

Ridiculous to think we only live less than a 10 minute drive from the Rose and Crown and have never been in there before! I suppose it's tucked away and unpretentious and although a locals pub it was welcoming and friendly, staff and customers alike. Good, basic but very tasty home cooked food at prices I haven't seen for a few years. A lovely roaring wood burner, nice rustic feel, a few quirky items adorn the pub, newspaper to read which all cumulates to a great little traditional pub. On top of this my husband loved the beer and they welcome dogs as all traditional pubs should. This will definitely become quite a regular for us. Great!

This pub caters for all.Mornings start with a real gutsy breakfast.Mid day brings a lunch time menu of home cooked favourites at astonishingly good prices and the choice of minimum 5 real ales which change day to day.Afternoon then clears the tables and the pub becomes a real ale drinkers paradise, with excellent wines for those of that persuasion.Tea time and the five o'clock club is busy and full of characters. The pub is busy then in the evenings.Live music occasionally.Meat draw on a Sunday at 4.00pm.Dogs and ramblers welcome. The landlady is credit to the licensed trade trying to deliver good quality at reasonable price, all with a smile. Well done Jill and Holly. All beers one price currently 3.30 not matter what the strength, why over complicate things.ps Hugo says thanks for the complimentary dog treats.

My husband & I were on our way to Stow-on-the-Wold & needed a light lunch. We were made to feel very welcome, were served quickly plus our toasted sandwiches which came with chips were really tasty. The pub is an old original with lots of interesting features.

Lovely, welcoming, homely pub.Fantastic roaring fire, olde world charm with exposed beams and other interesting decorative objects.Great beer garden with plenty of tables and a small children's play section - be great if they expanded this a bit more.Serves various free house ales.We often come for a full English breakfast which Vicky cooks beautifully. Lunch is good too with various basket meals, sandwiches, baguettes, jacket potatoes plus daily specials. A good atmosphere with friendly staff. Children made verywelcome.

We are doing the rounds in Highworth, calling in at all the Pubs and Cafe's and Coffee shops serving breakfast. This is the second of our reviews after a great breakfast in TT Linnet the week before. My wife and I both decided on the fried breakfast option, which came in 2 sizes I can only describe as 'light' and 'A good plateful'. We were not disappointed. The breakfast itself included egg, bacon, sausages, hash browns, fried tomato, baked beans and delicious mushrooms. Black pudding was available, which we both did not order. The food was cooked straight away and was not at all greasy, which you sometimes get with a fry up. The 'A Good Plateful' option was £6.50. I'm not sure what the light version cost.I ordered an Americano and my wife a Latte, both of which were very acceptable. My only criticism here was that both we served in tall glasses. A normal sized coffee cup (not too large) would have been prefered. The pub itself was full of very interesting pub things. Nicely decorated and very clean. The table by the warm log burner topped this visit off.All in all, a very nice way to spend a cold and wet Friday morning, and very much recommended. We will be going back.

Clearly wanted to shut early so left door open on freezing cold day to bring in tables/chairs from outside. Asked them to close it but refused to do so until they’d finished. Won’t be returning.

Dog friendly pub with large car park at rear. The pub has several sections a quiet dinning area, a front reception area with log fire, a sports area with sky tv sports and a pool table and darts board, there’s also a rear uncover outdoor section with tv aswell as a front garden, side garden and rear garden for the pub. Had the harrow burger here and was served very professionally and tasted great. Staff friendly and welcoming highly recommend and will be returning again

We originally planned to go toThe Plough on the Hill, which was just off the M4 as a pitstop. The carpark was full so we looked on Google maps for some where else. Bakers Arms came up so we decided to try it... So pleased the car park was full at the previous pub because the Bakers arm was a little treasure of a find. A warm welcome we received and were able to have a table for food. I had a smaller portion of their famous battered cod and chips, my friends had the sausages in Yorkshire pudding and mash with onion gravy and scampi and chips. We didn't have any room for dessert but the ones we saw come out looked absolutely delicious. We were going to come back on Monday for a pitstop on the way home, but sadly it's closed. Definitely worth a visit on the other days 😄 I have left the exact same review on TripAdvisor
