The best restaurants in Highworth Swindon South West

Food was average service was terrible however the atmosphere was good given the time of year. It was also mentioned after the visit that the owner/s were in the local news. On wiltshire999s re highworth restaurant manager which was concerning so will not be going back.

Decided to give Sammy’s a try and both my partner and myself agreed the best local Chinese around . We arrived just after 17.40 last Saturday and was told it would be about a 45 minute wait . The food was excellent and plenty of it .Highly recommend the Chefs special curry and House special noodles. The Spring rolls easily passed the paper bag test and the Sweet and Sour Pork Balls and Prawn Crackers completed a fabulous meal .

This place was a nice local but as of July 2021 the pub has been closed down. I believe new owners will be refurbishing the pub in preparation for reopening later on in 2021, hopefully.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! There is the RUDEST landlord and bar staff I’ve ever come across. He told us off for coming in with mud on our boots - with no smiles or charm but more like being ticked off by a teacher, we apologised and duly all took our shoes off and were told to leave them outside (in the snow) - he then rolled his eyes when we asked for a wine list, turned his head away when we were ordering and failed to bring us the drinks we ordered. He then gave up on us entirely sending in his barman/waiter who was equally unsmiling, miserable and outright rude. We were a group of 5 adults and 2 teenagers there for a cosy lunch after a long walk. Sadly we were made to feel so horribly unwelcome in this cold and unfriendly pub that I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy this miserable pub. Only saving grace was the sweetest young man from the kitchen who bought us out our lunch - but the rest of you - truly some of the most unpleasant, rude and cold people I’ve had the misfortune to come across. Final insult was after paying our hefty bill, the rude landlord sat in the middle of his soulless and empty pub and as we trooped out passed him he didn’t so much as look up or thank us or say goodbye - never been anywhere as awful. Do NOT go here.

Always great food from here. We have lived locally for over 10 years now, and have a takeaway every month or so as a treat. This place has never disappointed in all the time we have lived here. Fresh food, tasty and so moorish. We are blessed to live in a place that has so many good food outlets. Lee.

It’s so nice to be greeted with a smile and friendly face, remembered my drink from last visit! Fantastic barmaid and so friendly! I will be bringing family and friends here again! The barmaid was on her own, remembering every customers drink and greeted everyone with such friendliness! Every pub should have bar staff like this young lady… from overhearing “hellos” her name is Na? Honestly great customer service and so nice to see such a friendly, passionate bar staff! Will be back. Mam who cooks speaks broken English but really hard working man and lovely smile, the food isn't so bad, but need more staff and proper ordering system, silly young girl should just stop saying your order will be 15 minutes, and 35 minutes later it arrives, cold and barely edible and she has cheek to say thank you for waiting GTF if I knew proper tike to be served the crap I was given I would have walked away

It’s a long story but, just don’t! Do you yourself a favour and keep looking it really isn’t worth the hassle.

Just arrived home, with Chicken and stuffing stacker and chips, after 2 mouthfuls of the burger I nearly threw up !!! It was just a handful of disgusting tasteless mush!!! The chips were tasteless !!! Just binned the lot !!! Never again 😡😡😡
