Tasty Garden Quality Chinese Take Away in Swindon

Absolutely disappointed and disgusted at our takeaway! Pancake roll dripping in oil! House special chow mein with little meat , no chicken no pork no beef ! No sauce, dry ! No taste whatsoever! Donf waste your money!

poor quality meat, soggy vegetables lots of batter on things with no filling. bought a takeaway in 2018 and it was rubbish so decided to give it another go because surely it can't be as bad in 2022 but you know what it was just terrible. Avoid at all costs. tasty garden the names says it all

How can this 2nd rate takeaway think they can charge a fee to deliver within the Highworth area. All i got for a reply to why they charge to go less than one mile when any other town is free was they have no choice. ( well i do & i will never use them again ) 2nd rate service & food from a 2nd rate chinese takeaway . Keep your money in your pocket & go somewhere else ....

This is one of my favourite Chinese takeaways! The food is great and is made quite quickly, which is good :) The reason why I haven’t given it 5 stars is because they never pick up the phone which I don’t understand why, as they’re a takeaway. Still recommend though food wise :)

Menu looked good tried to order to collect take away but could get anyone to answer the phone between 7:15-7:30pm on Saturday.

We ordered the thai fish cakes from here and they had the consistency of a spam fritter, was inedible, the other food was ok but I don't think I'd be going back, unless recommended

Food utterly bland and insipid. Sauces tasteless. they threw in a few green peppers to make it look fresh and to give it colour but that was fooling no-one. We spent nearly £50 on what we thought was going to be a birthday treat and it was a disaster with more food being left than eaten. Despite spending all that money they didn't even give us prawn crackers which every other Chinese takeaway I have been to does as a matter of course. Dreadful.

Worst food I ever had hardly even edible wouldn’t feed it to a dog!! The price of the food was disgraceful, wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Super food, great value very good quality. Special offer menu very good value for money. Best to order in advance as they do get quite busy.

- All sauces in main dishes were watery and completely tasteless. - The meat in the dishes was fatty and dry. - Prawn crackers were stale too! Wouldn’t recommend at all.

Always good value! Meal deal is the cheapest way for us. Food usually of high quality and nice and hot! Sometimes a long wait to get through on phone but orders usually ready to collect 20 mins after getting through. Man on reception desk always friendly

The food here is hot and miss. We mainly have fantastic, tasty and hot food from here. The service is friendly and quick. The menu is great and the mega meal deal really makes it good value. They dont deliver.

These guys produce a wide range of good quality food. Our favourites are the noodles. Service is friendly and food delivered quickly.

It's a good Chinese, quick tasty always hot and resonably priced. Never been ill or seen any undercooked food so what more can you want from a Chinese takeaway.

We love this place, have never had a bad meal and the staff are lovely. I am a fussy eater and always ask them to change my dish one way or another, and they always accommodate my request. Highly recommend it, but try to order in advance as they get really, really busy, especially towards the end of the week and weekends.

Without a doubt the best chines e takeaway we have had. Everything was superb ,so tasty. The prawn crackers actually tasted of prawns !!!! At 5.45 on a Saturday night the shop was packed and we can understand why! We will definitely go again and will be recommend ing it to all our friends

We always order our Chinese food from here, good service, no long wait and good value for money. We have never been disappointed with any meal that we have ordered.

I always have to travel 30 mile round trip to get food from here and on most weekends cant even get through on the phone which is frustrating, but i can never get through because its always so busy due to its popularity!

I was visiting family and they use this place . We ordered a large order of quite a few dishes . All of them were tasty and sauces were very good, not cloying like some Chinese food can be. The black bean chicken was fantastic as were the ribs . All the food hot and fresh . Only issue ( not really a complaint) is in two dishes there were a lot of onions . Probably could use less . Recommended.

Always use this take away when looking to eat Chinese. Service is always excellent, you don’t have to wait long (unless they are very busy) and the food is always good and tasty.

We live 7 miles away from The Tasty Garden but always travel to Highworth when wanting a Chinese. The deal with food and accessories is great

Really disappointed with my meal last night. I have been a good customer for a wile and always been happy apart from the special curry always having at least half of the dish being onions to save on meat so we order with no onions problem solved. Well after last night I will no longer use this place. My wife wanted special chawmain for a change when i dished it up it came in the small tub that's for rice not the main dish tubs that are twice as big so it was only half a meal tiny amount not even half a plate of food and to call it a special chawmain is a disgrace dry noodles full of onion two prawns yes i did count them and if you put all the meat together which was just dry chicken you wouldn't have made a chicken nugget out of it. Sorry never again. He thinks he's saving money scrimping on ingredients and portions but actually just losing a customer.

Chilli beef was burnt to a crisp. And everything tasted of dirty burnt fat. Definitely would not recommend.

Great varied menu and really tasty food. Didn't have to wait too long even at the weekend. I had the tofu and also some squid. Will definitely be back!!!

This is a really lovely take away, we always go to this take away whenever we fancy a take away. They do an amazing meal deal at £15.50 for three dishes, this also includes rice or noodles, spring rolls and prawn crackers

We love this take away, it has taken us a long time to find a good take away and we have now. The food is excellent and The Tasty Garden has a great menu with different specials, and lots of choice. Well worth a take away.

We have a takeaway Chinese from tasty garden most Saturday's and are always very pleased with our meal. The food always tastes freshly cooked. The wait time is usually only 10 mins and only a little longer at 20mins at peek times (have never had to wait an hour like a previous reviewer suggested!). They also have some great meal deals on their menu that it is worth taking advantage of.

The crispy duck rolls were fine, not all that much duck though. The Green Thai chicken curry was poor. The chicken was rubbery and slimy - I'm not sure how they manage this. The sauce was watery and lacked flavour, with chilli being the only noticeable one. The water chestnuts had black spots on them. The decor looks nice - more effort required with the food.

I ordered chicken with cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce (a dish I have made myself and eaten at many Chinese take-aways over the years). The look of the dish was very unappealing - loads of water chestnuts and strange l looking slivers of what I presume was chicken, bathed in a glupey apricot sludge. It tasted horrible! Do not order this dish!

Cheap Chinese takeaway. Do not expect to have high quality food, as it is probably full of all sorts of chemicals. Portions were large and prices reasonable for a takeaway (even though I could not say they were cheap).

This is my new favourite Chinese in the area. I live local and thought I would try them. I was so happy with the food, sweet & sour is out of this world. If you haven't tried it yet then do you won't be disappointed

Been looking for a good quality local chinese takeaway for several years. Found these guys last year and have several takeaways now, all of which have been very fresh and tasty. Very friendly staff and their weekday special represents real value. People are quick enough to complain so thought I would redress the balance as a satisfied customer

Been using Tasty Garden for about two years and the meals have always been very good.The only bad point is if your picking your meal up from a phone order you may have to wait longer than they say.

We had friends over who fancies a Chinese so we thought, we'd give this place another go (after a previous rubbish meal). We ordered crispy salt and pepper chicken, it was covered in sugar no salt or garlic in sight. We ordered a chicken chow mein, got a bag of chips instead. The lamb and spring onion didn't taste of anything other than ginger and the beef with mushroom in black bean sauce looked and tasted awful. Cheap produce that tasted like it was thrown in the microwave. It was over an hour until it was ready, we were told 30 minutes we collected and drove home (inside of 2 minutes) and the food was cold. The king prawns were ok but I can safely say we won't be ordering from thetr again. We should have known complaints were flooding in whilst we were waiting!! Avoid at all costs!!

Cheap ingredients, poor quality, seems like everything came from the freezer or microwave. Disappointing.

We have used this take away many times before and always been very happy, unfortunately yesterday's meal was a real let down. Of the 10 items ordered 3 were missing, I called the restaurant and they said I could have them next time! I said I would prefer to pop back last night to collect them. On returning home and unpacking the order an item was still missing. Suppose I should have checked the order before I left but the place was packed with customers waiting for their order, some upto 40 minutes!

My previous review of the Tasty Garden followed a few visits to collect takeaways, all of which had been vey good. Unfortunately, our latest experience was not as good. The telephone order proved hard to place, we discovered on returning home that some of our requested order was missing, although we had not been charged for it either. So to give them the benefit of doubt, it could have been down to inexperienced staff taking the order. The quality of the food appeared to have also dropped a bit, but as this represents one order out of a dozen, it could have been the chefs night off.

First time we have visited the Chinese take away restaurants in Highworth since moving here. We'll try the other to compare but what I liked about this restaurant was the extremely good value of the meal deal - all for £15.50 and plenty for two to share. Well presented food and hot, not lukewarm!

We have been using the Tasty Garden over the last few years and have always been impressed by the quality of the food. This is a take away only, but the waiting area has a nice feel, with attention paid to detail, not always the way with take aways. The food we had on our recent order was very good and was ready at the informed time, meaning it was still piping hot when I returned home. The Tasty Garden has a telephone recognition system, which is also good.
