Sammys Chinese Take Away in Swindon

Decided to give Sammy’s a try and both my partner and myself agreed the best local Chinese around . We arrived just after 17.40 last Saturday and was told it would be about a 45 minute wait . The food was excellent and plenty of it .Highly recommend the Chefs special curry and House special noodles. The Spring rolls easily passed the paper bag test and the Sweet and Sour Pork Balls and Prawn Crackers completed a fabulous meal .

New to area review! Tried Sammys after recommendation. Sammy did NOT disappoint 😀 Food was lush, full of flavour, hot, amazing portion sizes. Chicken and beef tender. You gotta try the large spring rolls, they are THE best! Will come back again for sure!

Sadly disappointed. Tonight 6 of us made orders to the amount £90. We've always supported Sammys as a local business. We asked if we could perhaps have an extra sweet chilli sauce and we received nothing short of a rude, aggressive response. The lady told us that next time we should go "over the road" to Tasty Garden. We felt intimidated by her rude manner. On top of this, or meal was 15 minutes late which we didn't comment about, accepting that when we ordered, they were busy. However, a little customer service would have been appreciated.

久し振りにここのシンガポール炒飯を食べたくなり立ち寄り。以前、酷いサービスで足が遠のいていましたが、スタッフもメニューも変わってました。シンガポール炒飯は相変わらず6.5ポンドの割には美味しくて量が多かったです。以前は別料金を取られたビニール袋も無料で、スタッフの対応も良かったです。次回はマレーシアン料理にトライしたいと思います。

A wide range of freshly cooked tasty food at a fair price. Very friendly staff who allow modifications to dishes. ie No Peppers

Takeaway - We have been to a variety of places, having recently moved into the Watchfield area, trying to find a place which serves good Chinese styled food. Having moved around the country, only finding one in recent years in Bassingbourn, we have generally been disappointed with the level of food which is served at Chinese restaurants. This place, however, offers (thankfully) a change to the norm and is now one of our local weekly orders. The catch to this place is that you have to collect, there doesn't appear to be a delivery service, that being said it's worth the short trip for the food. If you don't live locally, it's worse going with someone who can nip in and collect for you as there is no set parking and the road is quite busy. This just means finding a space to park to then go in is time consuming, again worth it though, so taking an additional person is recommended. The food itself is always very tasty, and we have tried a multitude of plates from this restaurant, all with success. We've been very impressed with not only the level of service, from the lady at the desk, but also the quality of the food. Our favourites are the Satay chicken skewers and Chicken Hong Kong style. This place is recommended for those evenings / meals when you just dont want to cook and fancy something different, at a good price but not compromising on the standard.

On this experience won't be using this take away again. Tasteless tuff meat terrible. Have used before and was ok that time.

Fantastic family meal, beef in black bean had a kick to it which I loved, good portions and our kids devoured loads. Highly recommended.

Sammys is our Chinese take away of choice. The service is friendly, generally quick and they serve fresh tasty food. Our last visit was a bit disappointing. Most of the food was good and flavoursome but we found a lot of the food that had been deep fat fried (prawn balls, prawn toast, ribs) was extremely greasy. Also we were missing hoisin sauce for the pancakes so had to go back and pick some up which was very annoying (the 2nd time this has happened to us) and although they did give us a free bottle of coke, the inconvenience and our food getting cold didn’t make up for it.

So glad to have found this place Food is always fantastic and full of flavour Prices are very reasonable Service is second to none My favourite Chinese takeaway in Highworth and better than the ones in Fairford or Lechlade

We have tried most of the surrounding Chinese take away and Sammy’s is by far the best. Shame they don’t deliver but it’s worth the drive as it is excellent.

Sammy's takeaway looks just awful but the food is good, quickly cooked, generous from the usual unending chinese takeaway menu. Don't expect a gastronomic experience but do expect to be very happy with what you get.

Whilst visiting family in the area we decided to have a take away one evening. We chose separate dishes which we shared. On the whole all the dishes tasted the same. Heavily laden with chilli’s which over powered the taste of the whole meal.

Cash only takeaway Chinese. Great food, good portions and very good value. The wait time can get to an hour on a Saturday evening but people still ordering shows the food is worth waiting for.

We had a lovely Chinese takeaway. Really friendly staff. Great portions, really tasty food. Will definitely be using again.

We stopped ordering from here a while back as the quality of food went down hill. However, we thought we would try again after hearing new owners had taken over a while back. We were not disappointed! We ordered our food over the phone, a very friendly lady took our order. We wanted a couple of dishes changed slightly, one extra hot and another with cashew nuts on, both were not a problem to be altered. We picked up our order 30 minutes after. The food was fresh, hot and absolutely delicious. Fresh crunchy vegetables, aromatic flavours, lots of chicken and prawns. No complaints, simple delicious.

We have a takeaway quite often and its always been very good, it is local to us and so vey handy....love it.

We have been using Sammys for Chinese Take Away meals for many years and the quality has always been reasonable. However, our last two orders, have been exceptional. I'm not certain if there has been a change of ownership, or not, but it has now become my favourite Chinese Take Away.
