Lovely food and lots of variaty like jacket potatos, fish, chicken and burgers. I had the smokey mountain burger and it was delicious! not only is the food nice, but the people are very very nice too. would recommend any day!

We had a large chips to share. Battered sausage and burger with a spring roll. As always so good, the food is good, the takeaway is clean and the staff are always lovely. Always reasonably priced too!

They say that good things are worth waiting for. After arriving back late, following a solo Saturday visit to London, my wife called to ask me to pick up fish & chips on the way home. It was a busy time for the hard working people Smarts, so I had to wait a while for three beautiful pieces of cod, but in all honesty I would have waited a lot longer, for what we all said was the best fish we had tasted in a very long while.

Good value, great prices, friendly staff. The best fish and chips we've had in a long time. Highly recommended.

What I like about this chippy is that you get a consistently good product. Always generous with their portions and the staff always serve you with a smile. Stick well to Covid rules. A great asset to Highworth - the "Best in the West"!!!!

Ate our fish and chips in the square in Highworth as we don't live close by. It was very tasty and we ate all the fish, we ordered too many chips. It was well worth the journey.

The portions are good and the service friendly but the chips are not great. Good varied menu and good prices.

The takeaway food was well priced and served quickly. The fish & chips were fine. We were unsure if our Grandson’s sausage was cooked through because it was partly pink inside. This could have been due to the type of meat but because we were unsure we didn’t let him eat it. He shared our fish instead.

A real delight to use this Chippy. The owners are brill. So friendly, efficient and eager to please. They give really generous portions and offer speedy service. The fish was excellent as were the chips.

Good food always hot they love what they do and really care unfortunately moved away from Highworth now so don't go as much as we used to.

We regularly visit for a chippy tea. A large portion of chips can feed 3! The fish is well cooked and crispy batter. Staff are funny and friendly. Highly recommend this place.

We have recently moved to the town, and after being exhausted from the move wanted something quick easy and filling to eat, and we decided on Smarts and could not fault the service or food in any way, they even through in a sausage for the dogs knowing we had just moved. Being so hungry I mistakenly ordered a large chips, and I had never seen so many chips, and now after looking at other reviews will never make that mistake again, and their normal portions are more than enough no matter how hungry you are.

We drive for about 20 minutes to get our fish and chips from here as it’s worth it for the quality and the portion sizes. Never have to wait too long either.

As always there is a lovely family welcoming you every time you go. Chip portions you need to remind them how much you want as get given tons!

I collected my goods and all that I was served was a pine cone and fries. Crunch but soft mouth feel. The kids we’re confused due to their undeveloped palettes but we told them that this is good for future careers and that soon whipped them into shape. Regardless I enjoyed 5*

Run by a lovely couple, who certainly know how to cook beautiful fish, certainly the best I’ve had in North Wiltshire.

The food is great, always lovely and hot, cooked fresh. The proprietors are extremely friendly. I go there most weeks for Friday chip supper. Thank you - keep it up!

Lovely people running a great little shop. Take the local food challenge - see if you can get served a small portion of chips!! The fish portions are enormous as well. Get a large fish and chips and feed three people easily!!!

We only stopped here because we were passing through no we'd vaguely heard good things about it. It's quite easy to park on the High Street in the evening so that helped too.

We are lucky, this is our local chippy and its within walking distance.Its a well run family business, that serves top quality fish and chips, plus all of the other foods you would expect to find in a modern day chip shop. They do occasionally have an off day, but these are very few and far between.Well worth stopping off if you are in the area.

Smarts is a friendly family run chip shop, the fish is always fresh, with just the right amount of batter. Beware though, the portions are huge.

I was visiting Highworth and we decided to give Smarts Chip shop a try!The fish & chips were excellent. Chips nice and chunky and the batter on the fish crispy with the fish perfect!Service was with a smile......not a lot more you can say about a chippy!All in all......friendly service with good size portions of fish & chips and cooked perfectly at a reasonable price!

After driving from Lechlade to Highworth for a fish supper it was inedible. Fish tasted like it was previously frozen, dry, chewy and unpleasant colour plus taste. Totally inedible. Tried complaining but their english disappeared together with customer service.

We use this chippy very often as it is close to our home in Highworth, they are very friendly and welcoming, the freshly cooked portions are huge ( we often say not too many chips thanks ) , excellent value for money we often wonder how they make a living serving the portions they serve. Highly Recommended !

The Portuguese husband and wife team who run Smarts are always friendly and welcoming and it's definitely worth the wait when it's busy for really fresh fish with lovely crispy batter.Have to admit that it's the one time we do park on the wrong side of the road outside the shop (along with everyone else!) to make sure it gets home before it's spoilt.It's great to feel like a valued customer even when we only go in every now and then.

Great food and friendly staff. So glad this is my local chippy, I have never been disappointed when I've eaten from there. Some of the local pubs should take note of the great food and service you get from this cracking little chippy. I would never go anywhere else for my fish and chips.

Always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome, even if I haven't been for a while. The food served is always fresh and tasty. Not just the usual fish and chips, but much more diverse. The quality is excellent. The portion sizes are quite enormous- a large chips will easily feed a family of 4!!

I cannot recommend this little chippy enough. The guys that work there are so friendly and fun. Beware tho the portions are just so huge!!!! My daughter and myself buy one fish and normal chips and we still have so much left overs it's unreal. But this food is totally amazing, just like fish & chips used to be....

The staff are really friendly, the portions are generous and very good prices. I always feel welcome when I go there.I do find parking a bit tricky, having to park on double yellow lines, but most people do it. there is a car park a 100 yards in the market place, so that's Ok.

We are very lucky to have such good quality food options in Highworth and the fish & chips from Smarts are no exception. The shop is now run by a very friendly couple, who certainly know how to cook fish. If you want plaice, be sure to call ahead first.
