Friendly welcoming staff! Quick service. Nice atmosphere. And excellent food. This was our first time at this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint.

Been here before. May have reviewed other before. No matter. Last night three of the four of us opted for steak. Absolutely fabulous. Don’t overlook the steak option!

The food was good however the restaurant was very cold and I had to wear my coat all evening. Even the water in the loos to wash your hands was cold. I think they are trying to save electricity. No music and the ambiance was cold with terrible lighting and decor. Usually Italian restaurants are warm and friendly and very welcoming but sadly this wasn’t. .

Super meal and lovely staff. Definetly worth a visit. The food is fresh cooked and tasty and there is a good wine list.

My son's brought me to this gem of a restaurant for lunch on my birthday. Plenty of choice on the menu, a good wine list and reasonable prices. We really enjoyed our food and the service was excellent (it was lunch time and very quiet). I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Italian food is my favourite 😊

Wow, what a lovely restaurant. I live in London, but have family in Highworth, so I've been coming to Highworth for year's and always drive past this restaurant. I'm not a lover off Italian food, but my uncle booked as a surprise for my my auntie and us. I was very worried as I have celiac disease so coming to a place were pasta and flour is thrown around in kitchen, I was panicking, but I was so relieved when the waiter said they do a range off gluten free food 😀. I had garlic bread with cheese and a massive pizza which was soooo good. The service was excellent too. I now will vist again or have a take away. I highly recommend this restaurant even if you have food allergy.

As a large group of 26 we often struggle with food orders so always prebook. This place was no different and although we had to sit on two tables it’s was ok. The food was amazing and all came out together really hot and most definitely tasty. On tap with drinks and pretty much anything we needed. The waiting staff really did an amazing job and were so attentive. Sadly whist trying to pay as a group we always paid for what we had individually or as couples. This wasn’t the case and the guy taking the bill made it so complicated and told us we had to pay as one and not separately! Which is something unheard of and the only reason I can think is the benefit to the restaurant not having to pay the service fee. Hard times I guess. So I’d recommend if going as a couple or small group but definitely not large as my husband ended up paying the whole bill 😏

We were a group of seven friends getting together for our annual college reunion. We didn't know Highworth but found Ciao Eatalia and decided to try it that night. We were so pleased we did. Fabio was so good-natured and welcoming, as was the chef. The menu offered plenty of variety. Some of us had had a main meal earlier and only wanted starters but that didn't disappoint him at all. Those of us who ordered mains were very pleased! I had Asparagus risotto which was full of asparagus, and beautifully cooked with creamy and tender arborio rice. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his 'Linguini Ciao Eatalia', with Panna cotta for dessert. I had delicious profieroles filled with fresh cream and covered with a foaming chocolate sauce. Really enjoyable for everyone. Highwoth suited our needs perfectly, so we'll be back next year and hope to eat there again! Such a pleasure! Thanks Fabio!

A group of seven of us visited on the evening of Tuesday 13 June for our annual get together. What a great restaurant. Fabio was simply outstanding! The warmth of the welcome, the attention to detail and the quality of the food were all excellent. Although we were full after our delicious main courses most of squeezed in a pudding. We were not disappointed! Big thanks to Fabio on front of house and to those who worked their magic in the kitchen producing our lovely meal.

Considering we had pre ordered and were asked to arrive later the service was poor.We waited over an hour for our food,the food was good.

We had a family party on a very busy Saturday evening, we had a variety of food pizza steaks and pasta , all cooked perfectly, a very authentic Italian place, with Italian chef and manager, (hadr to find this days). Authentic Italian setting, great for all ages. Great waiting staff, which feels like a family business. Lot's of variation on the menu. I rate it a 3 for two reasons, my pizza was under cooked and I didn't get what I ordered, but the waiter knocked the pizza off the bill. All the other food we ordered was lovely. The restaurant is lovely but the bathroom facilities are old, dated and have a damp smell

This was myself and my sons first visit here We booked online for Monday at 7pm - and it won’t be our last. The venue was lovely and calm. Music was at a lovely level. The menu was great size easily to read. The food was absolutely delicious and very tasteful, the staff was very polite and respectful, and remembering to serve the lady first. And the prices was very reasonable. We also tested the dessert menu and they was also delicious and well presented. And it was lovely to see hand written bills. On all I was really impressed with this restaurant.

This is a lovely restaurant, the staff are friendly and the food is great. We had a calzone and carbonara which were lovely. And for starter, we had the squid and the Sicilian bruschetta. A lovely local Italian restaurant.

Another superb lunch at this authentic Italian restaurant. Never fails to please. Deserves all the excellent reviews and the number 1 spot for Highworth and beyond. Try it and you won't be disappointed.

First time out after second lockdown and it was all we were hoping for. The food was excellent,my wife had whitebait as a starter followed by sirloin and I had scallops followed by seafood risotto. The service was really good as usual and everything was well organised for covid restrictions. Will certainly be dining there again soon.

Literally just finished my meal and had to leave a review because it was amazing! Pasta was amazing and flavourful, pizza was delicious and the bruschetta was the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely be returning ASAP!

Went here for dinner on a Friday evening and it was reasonably busy. Very attentive staff and all set for a good meal.Drinks and starters consumed all very satisfactory, I had the whitebait and my partner had the gorgonzola mushrooms both very tasty. My partner ordered the veal and I had the 24 hr8 slowroast belly pork, the veal was fine but when my pork arrived it looked dry and when I started to cut into it I came across the butchers string and confirmation it was dry and tough. Not being one to complain I continued but after a couple of attempts I realised it was not possible to enjoy as it was taking a lot of chewing.Having told the waiter the manager was called and he readily agreed to get a replacement. Well, the new pork was as good as the first was bad, I was brought a steak knife with the second but it was not required you could cut with a fork and full of flavour. Full marks for rectifying this efficiently and courteously.We enjoyed the rest of the meal and would return.Our table was in the middle of the restaurant and this meant that staff and customers were constantly walking past our table which was probably at the most 2ft from adjacent tables. Other tables were available so I would feel it would have been better if the table was removed allowing a better gangway. Otherwise safety precautions seemed entirely satisfactory.

We met up for a catch up with a friend we haven’t seen in a while and first time back since COVID and it was even better than I remember. After sitting down and our order being taken first our drinks arrived followed by the starters. I had the goats cheese and onion bruschetta and it was fantastic. For main the prawn linguine which was very nice. Just a squeeze of lemon juice away from perfection for my taste. The service was amazing made to feel so welcome and comfortable. Highly recommend anyone when in town to give them a Visit!

We always have a big meal on the last night of our holidays and we dined here at Ciao Eatalia last night. The food was delicious with plenty of choice for my husband, who can't eat cheese, which rare in lots of Italian restaurants. The service was spot on, friendly, attentive and just the right amount of time between each course. The only disappointment is that we don't live nearer.

Just had a lovely relaxed meal with my wife at Ciao Eatalia. Very attentive front of house and worked to whatever speed you want to eat at. We tend to take our time and enjoy the whole experience. We didn't feel rushed or missed and the food was awesome. Thank you to the chef as well. We didn't go out to often but when we do we like it to be perfect and tonight was. Highly recommended

There is always an enthusiastic authentically Italian welcome here for impossibly large pasta portions, good fish soup and excellent meat dishes, all served with style. The sparse decor could do with a bit more character, but the food is what matters and it does not disappoint.

In the company of 9 family and friends, we enjoyed an excellent lunch with superb service. The owners had been very flexible over changing numbers of guests because of the present fluid situation. On entering we were greeted warmly and immediately were requested to clean our hands with gel, which reassured us about the standard of hygiene. The quality of the food was outstanding, the best Italian meal I have ever had including meals I've had previously in Italy. Every one thoroughly enjoyed their chosen dishes. I intend to return when the emergency is over, although we live over 40 miles away. In the meantime, the restaurant will deliver prepared meals. I hope they will receive good support from local people.

My husband and i both like Inspector Montalbano TV series. As Commissario we also like good food. And Ciao Eatalia in Highworth was one of our favorite restaurants. But disappointments happen like our recent Valentine's dinner has been ruined. My fish soup was not hot and fresh enough and prettty bland with no plate waste and wipes. Short pasta in main was undercooked. My husband had Deep fried breaded escallops and it was tasteless. Just because we didn’t want ruined our special evening we didn’t complain straight away. Plus we did not want to embarass restaurant staff in front of other people. I now intend to post my review because I beleive I’ll be helping the restaurant, too. Criticism makes us better as it helps us improve. Dear Ciao Eatalia, people are coming to your restaurant for dinner and you’re in the business of making people happy. Isn’t it? Restaurants make mistakes - a good restaurant will want to know about them so they can address the issue and work to make sure it doesn’t happen again with future customers. And reputation is very important.Commissario Montalbano is a man who “understands things” in a world. I hope you will understand too.

Have been twice during the last month. Both times the service has been great. The menu is a pretty traditional Italian, but there is a good range of dishes available. For a local night out, which is reasonably priced I would recommend it.

Really good food, friendly service and very reasonable prices. We had preordered, but one of our number was late, and they waited without any quibble. When we were all there, the food arrived promptly.Really nice experience. Only gave 4 stars because the decor is a little old fashioned.

We have visited this lovely italian on many occasions and always had amazing food and service .. so thought we would take some freinds for a Birthday meal... our freinds had not been before so we were very sure they would have a great experience ..Firstly we booked table for 6 people at 7.30 .. one of our party took a birthday ballon into the restaurant to put on our table (which I believe should have been the table for 6 people we had reserved )However when we arrived the balloon had been put on someone elses table ?? we were seated at a table for 7 ?? 5 of our party ordered starters which took almost an hour to arrive of which the waiter dropped one on the floor which meant we had to wait another 20mins for a second one to be prepared? One of our party ordered Steak to be rare arrived well done and was so tough couldnt cut it this was replaced and not charged .. the whole experience was ruined and now very reluctant to go back .. such a shame

This is the 4th time I have visited for lunch and it is consistantly excellent. Good food, well cooked and very attentive staff make this a great place to eat. No compaints and I will be back - hopefully very soon!

This restaurant is all about time and keeping to time which includes being turned away at 17:55 on a very cold night - (not something I was ecstatic about as I was on foot) until they opened their doors at 6pm! That said, once in and having ordered a Siciliana Pizza (with anchovies) - time again was of the essence and this was in my favour... it was delicious, just right on the saltiness and crispy on the edges. The pizza was a fine thin crust with maximum topping and the service was friendly and attentive without being imposing.Staff are Italian and it has a family-feel about the place, which just adds to its authenticity.Although choices for dinner are limited in this little town on a Sunday night - this restaurant will not disappoint. No other choices required!

I must admit we are very lucky to have this restaurant in Highworth. We were there last night for a very nice meal. My Dover sole was beautifully coocked, it was sooooo tasty!!! Beleive me much better and much cheaper than in Rick Stein restaurant (I have tried). Also my husband special starter was Paprica Prawns and he said it was wonderful! Arranged to meet a friend here who chose the restaurant after reading all the wonderful reviews. The place was full and they seemed local people. We ordered the chefs starters, although they seemed bought in and certainly not home made we had ordered a pizza to share. When this arrived there was no tomato base on the pizza, no goats cheese and cold asparagus laid on top. It was probably the worst pizza I’ve ever had! This was not a fresh cooked home made meal. Being ‘Italian’ we thought it might take pride in the food but no. The place was full when we left. I refused to pay for the pizza but the manager didn’t offer us anything in return and I won’t be going back. Highworth can do so much better and I think maybe people think this food is acceptable!! Don’t go expecting great Italian home cooked food!!

Lovely, simple place which is what it is. Simple food, well served, welcoming and committed owner, no delays, big portions, simple tastes.

First visit to Ciao but it definitely won’t the last. One of the best Italian meals I’ve had in a very long time. The portions are generous, our food was super tasty and the waiters very attentive, oh and all very reasonably priced.

Always have a lovely meal here the biggest problem is choosing from the extensive menu! The specials are always worth a try! High quality Italian food!

This was the 3rd visit to this Restaurant and again it was excellent. Friendly greeting on arrival. All 4 of us had something different and all were more than satisfied with our choices. Service was was good despite they being very busy.

Fantastic food and outstanding service. We love it here and come often. The menu is varied and there are always specials. The wine is lovely and the food is impeccable. Great atmosphere and not expensive for the quality of food. We pre ordered and everyone of our 15 group enjoyed the meal.

We love this place, have never had a bad meal and the staff are lovely. I am a fussy ITALIAN eater and always ask them to change my dish one way or another, and they always accommodate my request. The past is cooked to perfection, al dente, just as it should be. Highly recommend it, but try to book in advance as they get really, really busy, especially towards the end of the week and weekends.

Expensive but very average quality food. Asked if I could have side salad instead of vegetables with my meal, was told no. Absolutely no flexibility. Won't return

I regularly visit Ciao with friends and am never disappointed in their pizza to the point where I rarely choose anything else off the menu but when I do it’s always really tasty, especially anything from the “Specials” menu

We booked a table for 4 grown ups on a Monday evening, something that proved to be unnecessary as it was quite empty with only about 4 other tables being used.

Friday evening dinner for myself and a friend. The restaurant was fairly busy but not too noisy. I’d heard mixed reviews, but the food was lovely. Didn’t have room for desert as we were so full from starters and main course. Very reasonably priced (£45 x2 courses and bottle of wine). All waiters very friendly and polite.

This was our second visit here after being impressed the first time and this time was no different ... the food came quickly and was nice and fresh, good sized portions and after spending a good bit of money had a shot on the house which was a nice gesture. Just minor things we could have improved was the calzone was very wet underneath when served which was a disappointment but the overall experience was very good.

Very busy but good atmosphere as we had pre ordered food was on time and very nice. Prices very reasonable too.

Ciao Eatalia did not disappoint again, a lovely meal, although the restaurant was busy the food came out in a timely manner, and was cooked to perfection, our third visit, the staff are great, we will definitely going back.

I visited in February, was very disappointed with a badly cooked steak but had no reaction from the manager so wrote a critical review. A day or so later the manager called my office to apologise. He then wrote to me offering a discount if we were to visit again and spoke to my wife to confirm this. We've since made the return visit and were very pleased, so now offering a positive review to reecognise customer service very well delivered. Thank-you Gianluca

I retired from my London based job at the end of February, following a meeting in Swindon. It was agreed that we would go for a meal and I was asked to arrange, so where better than my favourite Italian restaurant. All of my team loved Ciao Eatalia, but I was always confident that they would.

Second visit. Great starters and main course. Service was good. If you need service they see you but not asking every 5 seconds and interrupt your conversation. House wine is very good at reasonable price.

We used to really one this restaurant and praise it in the face of others less enthusiastic about it.

The food was fantastic, waiters friendly and atmosphere busy. We all ate varied meals from steak which was cooked perfectly with absolutely no gristle or fat to pizza. The red wine we had was lovely. It was my 40th birthday meal and they turned all the lights off, sang and gave me a flaming sambuca. All adults had a limoncello to finish.

Christmas Day family experience was absolutely fantastic as was the family birthday party in early January. Excellent food and service as usual. Faultless. Friendly and welcoming. Thank you so much to all the staff who made our visits so special.

Today was the day all of my Mother's family could be in my house to celebrate Christmas and new year 2019. We had the food pre-ordered from Ciao Eatalia and it was ready on time for collection. Well let me tell you that not only the price was good but the family ate everything. OK there were 22 of us but for the amount of food there was on the table I was amazed. Ciao Eatalia you are the best! And for those of those you like me who work a lot .... just let Ciao Eatalia take care of all your party needs. It was a fairly busy night, the kind staff managed to make room for us 4 and we went on to have a superb evening with 3 courses of amazing food, they also managed to cater to my daughter’s allergies. There was a lovely atmosphere to the restaurant they also have very nice staff who made the night even more joyful. I highly recommend!

I went here a couple of years ago and the food was great. Not now i assume this restaurant has changed hands, if not the quality has slipped. Average at best. It would be ok for a quick lunchtime meal but disappointing overall. Won't rush back.

Visited with friends since they live in Highworth - was mediocre at best. Over priced and lacking in quality - would not entertain a repeat visit!

Another fantastic visit to Ciao Eatalia. It wasn’t planned, so we were fortunate to get a table for two. The quality of the food is so very consistent and the welcome always warm. We have travelled considerably, but feel that this restaurant is the best for many miles and fortunately for us, it’s almost on our doorstep.

Ci siamo trovati per caso davanti a questo ristorante...semplice ed accogliente...si respira aria di cordialità e semplicità...il personale di sala si é subito mostrato cordiale, educato e molto alla mano...il cibo? Fantastico!! Una gioia vederlo e mangiarlo...tutto italiano, porzioni abbondanti e prezzi ottimi...vi consigliamo vivamente di andare a provare.... atmosfera italiana come entrambi i proprietari!! Questo si che si può definire il tipico cibo italiano.

Ciao Eatalia is a restaurant with really nice atmosphere and a very friendly staff, excellent food. We have been there several times and have never been disappointed. But tonight they went the extra mile for my husband’s birthday. Thank you! See you again soon!

Our meal was bland at best. My friend ordered the lasagne, it was very dry. She had to ask 4 times for her side salad. 2 other friends ordered a bottle of rosé wine to share £18 the bottle had Tesco written all over it, a google search says it retails for £4 a £14 mark up is disgusting. Service was slow and the waiters were very rude. That’s 7 people who won’t be returning!!

Came with friends. Three of us had the same main. We did tell the staff that one had no sauce and the other two did . They said cooked all in one pan and we said shame one had no sauce. So was very dry.

Approximately 60 descended on CiaoEatalia on a Sunday evening. You know quickly you're in a Italian restaurant, I had met Fabio, the chef, beforehand and agreed the menu. I knew Gianluca already from an earlier previous visit, he supervises front of house in a quiet efficient manner. Serving 60 could have gone wrong - but it didn't, they kept up the usual high standards I have previously enjoyed.

Lovely food... really delicious pizza. Great starters... particularly the whitebait - a good sized portion, enough for two to share. Friendly service and a warm welcome. The interior of the restaurant was pleasantly warm too - not always the case I find in November when restaurants don't put their heating on!

I have been to ciao eatalia many times with family and as a couple. Highly recommend for a birthday meal or a date night occasion. Very attentive, never had a bad meal!

The restaurant is warm and friendly and the waiting staff were courteous albeit only one of them could describe what was on the menu.

My wife and I visited the Ciao Eatalia on Friday 26th October, we ordered a bottle of Piccolino wine which was very good and for starters we had the Cheesy Garlic Bread, good but not much taste of Garlic. Then on to main Course I chose the Fillet Steak with Gorgonzola and my wife chose the Sirloin all with side dishes and both were excellent, then on to dessert we shared the profiteroles again very nice. All in all a great meal and deserving of 4 stars.

We went for a family meal 2 weeks ago and i have to say that the food was amazing and I’m surprised when i see bad reviews lower i think some people are to fussy! I had carbonara in Roma last year and the was exactly the same in your restaurant so i personally thank the chef Fabio for my carbonara, the chef is amazing all out food was amazing and came out fast, but i was impressed with my carbonara I could eat 2 portions :) we will defiantly come again and now i know what i will be eating!

I have visited Ciao Eatalia several times and it never disappoints. The pasta dishes and pizzas are first class and always check the specials board as there are often some hidden gems on there. The staff are super friendly and they produce some of the best french fries I have ever had in a restaurant. The steaks are cheap and only the fish selection lets them down. A good honest, reasonably priced night out!

My first trip here with the family for dinner - I really liked the layout of the place, and the food was excellent - very generous portions, friendly staff and an overall great experience. Excellent value for money, and would go again

Our son and daughter in law treated us to a birthday meal at this lovely Italian Restaurant. It’s our sixth visit and again, we were made to feel very welcome. The food was beautiful. The service was great and their Italian Coffee is the best. There is plenty to chose from their menu and they also offer daily specials. Their food is delicious, well presented and plentiful and the Restaurant is warm, clean and cosy. Perfect.

Another visit to our favourite restaurant. Once again the food was excellent and the service to match. We have frequented the property through it’s previous owners and incarnations, from Chinese and Malaysian Fusion, to one of the very best Italian Restaurants around. Fortunately, we live in the area and we hope that the Ciao Eatalia remains in our town, long term.

I have visited Ciao eatalia for the first time last Saturday, busy place so is a good sign, we were 6 people, the food was quick and freshly prepared , the manager was very happy to help my wife with the gluten free options, cos he said we can do most of the many gf, really tasty food and quick service , loved the baby amarone suggested, and the traiminer white wine, good wine selection, I will defenetly come back, by the way most of the food is home made u can see from the pizza shapes and bread and focaccia , isn’t like big chain restaurant, 100% Italian waiters and chefs, they all came out to sing for my son birthday . We have lived in Highworth for 10 years and this is the first time we have visited the restaurant (it hasn't been there for 10 years was a chinese takeaway before hand). I have to say everything about the restaurant was first class. Friendly service, great food at what I think was a very reasonable price (2 huge bowls of pasta, a side order and 2 drinks for less than £30) and lovely decor. We will certainly be visiting again in the near future. A hidden gem

This excellent restaurant fitted us in for my daughters 21st birthday last minute,had a fantastic time, brought her cake out , all the chiefs cane out too and sang happy birthday made it a very memorable night , nothing was to much trouble, we had a large table of 8 and they made it so nice for us , service excellent, food excellent , clean and beautiful restaurant, would recommend to every one, i would travel to go here and you would not be disappointed, thankyou so much

Wanted a late, long, Friday lunch. Only customers so I suspect this is a place to come in the evening but staff attentive none the less. Run by a Sicilian family. Authentic and very freshly cooked food and probably the best bottle of very reasonably priced Sicilian Grillo I have tasted in quite a while. If I came back to Highworth I would come again.

Went with friends. Staff were relaxed and happy to bring us tap water as well as drinks.
