We've eaten here many times over the years but it sadly went downhill so we haven't visited in some time. Noticed that it had been taken over earlier this year and reviews looked great so we went on Saturday for my husband's birthday. So glad we did! The refurb is lovely - seating is much more spaced out than previously. Team were all super friendly and efficient - lots of smiles and conversation if you wanted it - just how we like it. It was a very busy Saturday night and they looked full. Service as the evening went on slowed up a little but not drastically so and it didn't detract from our lovely evening. Food was exceptional! We had the crispy olives to nibble on, the trout for mains (please keep this on the menu it was amazing) and vanilla creme choux pastry and roast pineapple for dessert. It was all stunning! We only live a few miles away and are so glad to have a top notch eatery on our doorstep! Already re-booked to go with family for lunch in a few weeks time so fingers crossed we'll have the same wonderful experience! Top marks to the chef!!

Set in stunning surroundings this is a gem of a place. Really friendly staff and top notch food at a decent price. Will be back.

Lovely roast dinner lunch at the beautiful Five Alls today (7th July). The staff are so very welcoming and friendly and the pub is done up very tastefully. The food: Scotch Egg and curry sauce starter, pork roast, beef roast, and dessert (roasted pineapple) was absolutely delicious. Portions are a very good size and neither of us left anything it was perfect. It is without doubt one of the nicest meals we have had during our stay this week in the Cotswolds (and we have had some good meals since being here). Definitely a place we will be coming back to in the very near future when we return to the area in November. Thank you to all the staff at the Five Alls for making our visit so good.

Last minute booking for our group of 11 travelling through the Cotswolds homewards. All very friendly and hospitable, the Sunday dinners were all superb. Noted they do rooms so look forward to returning when we can try some wines and beers soon!

Attractive country pub and restaurant. Friendly, warm and cosy with large bar area where we really enjoyed a nice ciabatta for lunch. The fillings were very good, one steak and one smoked salmon. A nice change was that service wasn’t automatically charged which always makes me feel giving more freely. This was our first visit as we wanted to check it out before booking to go there for dinner. We will certainly be going again.

We had an absolutely delicious meal - we both had the fish and chips, which had crunchy batter and an amazing tartare sauce, and a very generous size for the small size. Desserts were equally good and generous portions. There was good variety on the menu. The service was excellent, there was a warm welcome and everyone was friendly. It was nicely decorated and is dog friendly. Would highly recommend.

Hi, we had a meal at the five alls at the end of July, table of 4 for my wife and I and two old friends who we met up with, my wife and I ordered the sea bass with potatoes and roasted vegetables, so it said on the menu! but when it came there was no sign of any roasted vegetables just what can only be described as pan fried overcooked oily onions something like you would find in a burger not a hint of any roasted vegetables! fish was nice though potatoes ok, not wanting to spoil the evening as we were with friends we hadn't seen for a while we said nothing on check back but I did mention it to the waitress who cleared our plates who just said sorry about that! for a dish that cost £26 I think it was pretty poor really and unacceptable I did email the manager about this but he hasn't bothered to reply, that was nearly 3 weeks ago now, if he can't even be bothered tells me what I'm saying is correct and if he's not bothered then why would the rest of the staff! Lovely, welcoming pub. Stayed overnight as meeting friends. Dinner was good and lovely atmosphere. Comfy, quiet rooms in courtyard. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would return!

Beautiful pub with very friendly informative staff. Minimal vegan choices but those dishes were excellent. We had the curried carrot soup followed by the kale and mushroom ravioli and then vegan ice cream. The Shiraz wine was also good. Dog friendly.

We were taken in by the 5Alls because we had to leave the hotel in Barrington The Fox, because they had a problem with sewage leaking. The 5all were great had we been royalty we couldn’t of had better treatment. They welcomed us when we got there and made sure we were comfortable. Well done The 5Alls. Excellent.

This is my local pub, called in for a drink last night with my partner for the first time. The service was slow and not at all welcoming, the bar staff too busy sat at the end of the bar eating her dinner!! Then we were made to feel so unwelcome we sat outside in a cold beer garden. I would never go into this pub again even despite the sign on the way offering a warm welcome.

Easily one of the best Sunday Roasts I have ever had. Beautiful setting, amazing service, and absolutely fantastic food. Can’t fault it at all!

Booked for Sunday lunch and when we were showed to our table, it was in a different room to where we usually go, at the back of the building. There was a large table of about twelve people and children and that was ok until a magician arrived and there was a great deal of merriment. We had booked for a quiet Sunday lunch and instead had to put up with the noise. Why did they not put us in the other dining room which was almost empty when we left. I don't want to appear a spoil sport but a magician for Sunday lunch, really!!

What a turn around! New chef,we went on his first night and the meal was superb. Could not fault one element, delicious, full of flavour, fabulous presentation, attentive staff, delicious wine and even a discount for villagers (as a one off I believe). Well done all. We will be back.

We stayed here for three nights,the room in the garden was a nice size, but it is in need of an update.Good and comfortable bed.

I took my 87 years old mum out for lunch to the Five Alls. She has dementia and lives in a lovely local care home, so it was quite a big trip out. We had a lovely meal. The lady who served us looked after us really well. She was sensitive to the situation and was kind and patient. The meal was too big for mum, so she gave us a smaller plate for me to portion it for mum and a doggy bag to take the rest home! The atmosphere was very relaxed and the decor is beautiful. Thank you for a lovely experience, which so often is not the case when dining out with someone suffering from dementia.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Five Alls while working nearby. The staff were very pleasant and it seemed to work efficiently. The evening meals were good quality. I had the large sized chicken caesar salad @£18. I should have had the smaller size. Couldn't finish it. I should also have asked for no anchovies. It was pleasant, but not a great deal of parmesan. The beer selection on offer was very small for a rural country pub. Only two on offer, and no bottled options. The two beers on offer were ok, but not great. Several lagers available, but not beer. I fully appreciate the difficulty in keeping cask ales, but there are plenty of bottled options available now which keep well. The furniture and surroundings were very comfortable, with lots of old sofas. The furniture in the restaurant was an "eclectic, bordering on eccentric" mixture but it seemed to work. There is the work of a local artist on the walls which are for sale and are mostly rural in theme including lots of hares. The staff dogs are present in the bar or certainly were when we arrived and the pub is dog friendly. That was fine with us. We both like dogs. We stayed overnight in the accommodation which was very nice. Large roomy space, well furnished, with a large bathroom. Plenty of parking available. We asked for an early breakfast to next day, bearing in mind we were there on business and needed to leave by 7 am. We fully accept that we were not the Five Alls target demographic, and that we had been made fully aware that breakfast didn't start until 8. The staff and the chef managed to arrange some breakfast for us to take back to our rooms as the restaurant would be shut at the time we needed to leave. That was very much appreciated. The only problem we had, was what to do with our keys and how to pay our bill and get a receipt. Nobody was up at that time. We ended up putting our room keys through the letterbox and calling to pay later in the day. I would happily stay again. Probably more suited to couples and a weekend away than business users.

Paula who runs the hotel could not have been kinder. On arrival I fell and broke my hip. We were given dinner and breakfast in our room - I really couldn’t walk. In the morning she arranged for an ambulance. The food was delicious. Must also thank Ernesto for his help

Having not visited for a number of years I was looking forward to lunch here. On arrival our host gave us a warm welcome and gave good advice about seating areas. We chose to sit in the bar which was warm and fairly busy. After a short wait we were given the menus and made our choices. We enjoyed our drinks and initially were comfortable waiting for the food to arrive. As time went on, the height of the chair began to feel wrong and I wondered if it was too low to comfortably eat from the table. The food arrived after a fairly lengthy wait of around twenty five minutes which seemed excessive for two sandwiches. During our wait we were surprised to watch as the barmaid had to change a keg which ran out whilst she was pouring a pint. To our surprise, she carried on pouring the pint from the new keg into the glass along with the dregs from the old one and then served the pint to a customer. There was a lot of bread - the sandwiches were not great sadly. Thick doorsteps of what tasted like yesterday's bloomer loaf were not what we had in mind. So disappointing! As I thought, the table was too high for the chair and had we had any other food than sandwiches it would have been uncomfortable to eat at the table. With some attention to detail and further training this could provide a much better lunch experience. It is also nice to be given a choice as to whether a tip should be given rather than added to the bill before presentation to the customer.

Drinks (and nibbles) outside in the sun, really delicious dinner in the restaurant, gorgeous room in the courtyard (big comfortable bed and large, beautifully appointed bathroom). All with excellent service from a lovely young team. No complaints just lots of ‘we must come back’.

No había vuelto a los Five Alls desde que el pub cambió de manos hace un par de años. Debo decir que ha habido una GRAN mejora en todos los aspectos de la experiencia gastronómica. Lo que hizo que el almuerzo del domingo fuera tan especial en particular fue el increíble servicio que recibimos. Una bienvenida encantadora por parte del personal del bar y las camareras y una atención constante a los detalles sin que nada sea demasiado para pedir. El rosbif estaba delicioso y muy bien de precio y salió caliente y rápido con enormes budines de Yorkshire y crujientes asados. Tuvimos que cancelar nuestros planes de celebración 50 con más amigos debido a las nuevas regulaciones de COVID. Nos costó mucho encontrar un lugar para tomar una reserva tan tarde. Nos recomendaron este lugar. Nunca habíamos estado antes, pero estamos gratamente sorprendidos. Tuvimos 3 campos maravillosos y algunas bebidas y pasamos una noche maravillosa. La comida y el servicio fueron excelentes. Sin duda volveremos cuando esté a solo 14 millas de donde vivimos. No puedo creer que 17 años viviendo en North Swindon no lo hayamos estado antes. Pasamos una noche en una de las habitaciones del jardín y comimos en el restaurante. El servicio del equipo fue excelente, muy amable y servicial. La habitación era más grande de lo esperado, con una ducha y la calefacción por suelo radiante en el baño era una delicia. Gran colchón cómodo y TV de pantalla plana (con canales limitados). Nos hemos alojado aquí antes y en invierno hay una hermosa chimenea de leña en el salón. Me quedaré aquí de nuevo, pero hubo algunas cosas que podrían haber sido mejores. En estos Covid - 19 veces, nos sorprende que los artículos de tocador en el baño se hayan usado anteriormente y las opciones de desayuno se hayan limitado a platos calientes, por lo que no hay opción de granola o panqueques (como se indica en su sitio web). Sentimos que el vino era caro a las 24 para Pino Grigio, pero la cerveza era muy buena. Me decepcionó que mi pescado y papas fritas vinieran con Mc Fries, en lugar de las papas fritas adecuadas que esperaba. También nuestra hamburguesa casera estaba un poco ensangrentada en el medio, pero sabía bien. Los postres eran muy buenos, pero caros a las 7. 50 cada uno. Menu online looked amazing, but hadn’t been updated. Only 1 vegetarian main option, which is really strange seeing as we are in 2020. We sat outside and had to go in to ask for menus, drinks and then to order our food (which, by the way, wasn’t great at all)Meanwhile, one of the waitresses I asked for the Menus from was having a drink behind us with a group of other staff that obviously also worked there but we’re having their day off. The atmosphere was so flat, there was no music on and all the staff seemed a little awkward.Our Room hadn’t been inspected properly, dead insects, side light didn’t work, chewing gum on the side table, leaking sink and no hand wash, which considering the current climate of Covid 19, I was a bit shocked. The lady who checked us out in the morning seemed really annoyed at me when I mentioned these on check out. I really wanted to love this place as have been a few years previous and was amazing. I wouldn’t go again ☹️

Stayed for one night, couldn't book two as it was fully booked. Staff were very friendly and nice. Room was ok, only one bulb in bathroom working, shower dripped all night, and a thick layer of dust on the kettle. But everything else was clean in room. And I will say the food and service was outstanding.

Lovely evening, with appropriate measures to ensure everyone’s safety with regards to COVID 19. Food was delicious, staff very friendly and the pub has beautiful decor and a nice atmosphere, would highly recommend!

Stayed overnight for my birthday..lovely log fire great barman and huge comfy bed with lovely bathroom. The food was very tasty, my sea bass was perfect.

Delicious food, country atmosphere, excellent service. The food is locally sourced & not cheap, but you get what you pay for!

My Wife and I stayed last night at the 5 all’s, the restaurant food was superb and the staff were very friendly and attentive.Our bedroom had an extremely comfortable bed which was much appreciated after a long drive.All in all this was a lovely place to stay and definitely one to go back to.It is also only 10 minutes away from Burford which is a lovely cotswold town to visit.Many thanks to all of the staff at the 5 All’s for making our stay very special.Thanks again Paul & Anne Johnson

Birthday meal for husband. He chose the prawn tempura and I went for the calamari. Both were delicious as was the roast beef dinner that followed. I was beaten by then, so copped out with some ice cream, but he went on to have the berry crumble, which he enjoyed. We finished off with coffees by the fire. Service was polite and efficient and lovely surroundings as usual. Couldn’t ask for more.

This was our 3rd time staying here, we were so disappointed, we stayed on valentines and had booked months in advance. We had viewed the set menu on line as we had done previous years and when we arrived we were told we couldn’t eat from that menu and would have had to pre order from it? We were never told this when we booked but nonetheless the food was lovely.Our additional disappointment was regarding the staff, they seemed quite non plus and disengaged. Our food was served very quickly, too quickly, almost like they wanted to get rid of us. We retired to the fire after eating and at 10pm we just felt unwelcome, it was clear the staff were clearing down, shutting the bar, moving tables around from room to room. We felt like we were holding them up so we went back to our room. The reason we went back a 3rd time was because we had received such fantastic service previously but not this time sadly. We won’t be returning, we spent £160 for the room and £100 on food and drink, for this price I expect more.

Had a lovely meal. Beef was amazing.Staff looked and were a bit non plus. Just looked at us as if we were alien or something. Not sure if it is normally locals and we weren't? The place was very quiet which I was surprised. I would go again as I stayed in the next village and it is very local to it. The menu looked lovely. There was a magician going round, glad he didnt come to us as we wanted to chat , it was a pain when he was standing behind one of us very close. But some people might like that sort of thing

Have not eaten here for a few years and was very disappointed. new staff not trained properly - waitress presented the expresso with no saucer, had to ask for a saucer and sugar. Never gave a spoon, had to ask her again. No crema on the coffee, experienced waitress gave us another expresso which was much better. Main courses got mixed up with the next table - disaster really. Don't think we will revisit.
